Nice when you make a hold that’s not the right one you tell your audience.Seems like the higher denomination you play more important those two pairs are.I am noticing since I am starting to up my denomination just have to accept that I will be taking more of a risk but also possible more rewards.
The higher the denomination play, the stricter my play becomes. However, If I’m way up in the bankroll (because the frequent “bottom of the pay table” hits have been plentiful) I will take a few shots, such as that full house with 3 Aces. At high denominations “it pays” to dump that kind of full house….but only if you’re significantly up!😉🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

This machine looks pretty good like it is on the tip of paying a quad. You have said in the past to watch for a lot of two pairs. The mighty two pairs tell a lot if the machine is in a good mood. I can get my heart racing on 5¢ denominations! Because I just imagine it being a Big Nickel: the $50 coin denomination!🤣 The 2 pair hand is the Holy Grail of video poker. If the game you’re playing doesn’t pay 10 coins on the 2 pair hand, you’re playing the wrong game and will never make any money from video poker! Say hello to your Mom for me. As always, very informative and enjoyable video.
To some extent we create our own lucky opportunities when it intersects with preparation and opportunity. Preparation- Know how to play perfectly so you know what should be played on every hand even if you knowingly deviate from it occasionally-best way is to practice hours with a computer trainer. Opportunity- playing the hand your dealt properly by not playing too fast and making a play mistake or fat fingering the buttons, my specialty. Luck, having set yourself up to win by drawing the card you need- example when drawing one card for a royal flush, one to three of a kind to get quads. You must keep in mind that your can play perfectly and still lose (luck). However, if you play properly your bankroll will last longer and you will run more money through the machine even if your unlucky. This is important to build up comps and free play.

For someone "playing for the 40k royal"every time you hold a ace king, queen ace,of different suites your eliminating chances.how can you be dealt a royal when your holding 2 different suites,i understand playing to get your money back,but your taking away chances.i know royals don't come often,but all the ones I have except for 1,was me holding 1 card,or 2 of the same suit and it dealing the others, if I would of done what you do I'd only have 1 royal flush.
I’ve hit 38 Royal Flushes for close to $500,000 in RF wins alone. I think I’ve got it.🌎

Every 9 months or two years I'd say it takes
I can see where you’re coming from, based on the limited scope of what appears on my channel, (which is barely 9 months old), and you’re right, I’ve only hit 1 Royal since I’ve started my channel. I have approximately 1,048 minutes of UA-cam videos which means it took me 17.5 hours to hit my $4,000 Royal. If I play (on average), 1,000 hands an hour, then it took me 17,500 hands to hit that Royal. Which means I’m actually way ahead of schedule based on hours played to hit it. I have a “master-list” of every Royal Flush that I’ve ever hit since 2009; which names the dollar amount of each Royal, where it was won, the date on which it was won, and how many minutes into the session itself that it was won. I have hit 14 Royal Flushes over the last 24 months, totaling: $170,000. That’s an average of 1.7 Royals per month at an average win of $12,142 per Royal. Of course, the one Royal for $100,000, skews the averege win amount per Royal quite a bit. I have a total of 38 Royal Flushes won for close to $500,000 in wins.😉🌎

Hi John thanks for your instructional videos, supporting video poker; I have an interesting note: I was at Harrah’s Rincon few days ago they had numerous 10/8 bonus poker machines the single pair was 1, two pair only 1, 3 of kind was 3 and straight was 4, but flush was 8 and full house was 10 , all rest was usual so looks very good for bigger hands not so good 2 pair and 3 of kind; interesting pay table , what do you think 1 1 3 4 8 10 25 40 80 50 800 would
This be a 99 % payback or does the 2 pair only paying 1 credit kill the odds , thanks Chris-LA ?
The pay table you describe is a major ripoff, the payback on it is 92.81%. If your goal is to have consistency in “having a shot at making money” with video poker then there are ONLY 2 games: 9/6 JoB & 8/5 Bonus Poker. You can forget all about the other games. They are highly volatile, and only “if you’re lucky” will you break even on all those other games. They were developed to lure players away from 9/6 JoB & 8/5 BP. The pay table on 8/5 Bonus Poker must pay: 10 on 2 Pair, 125 on 5-K’s, 200 on 2,3,4’s, & 400 on 4 Aces. All the other games were designed to rob the players blind. Harrah’s SoCal is the worst casino in the area to play video poker and nobody serious about video poker plays there. Tragically they “gutted” the good paying pay tables there in 2019. You’re best choices in the San Diego area comes down to either Pechanga, Pala, & Barona. Yaamavá is good in the high limit but terrible on the main floor. If my only choice to play video poker were Harrah’s Southern California, I’d quit the game. See you at Pechanga!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

I love the Strip and all their high end restaurants. And since my focus is high denomination 8/5 Bonus Poker there are plenty of 8/5 Bonus Poker in all the high limit salons of the Strip. A best kept secret for 8/5 Bonus Poker at lower denominations (next to the Strip) is Palace Station. It was totally refurbished a few years ago and is not crowded. It’s minutes away from Caesars Palace & the Wynn. As far as crowded goes, I make reservations for every meal weeks in advance before arriving in Vegas. Even the Wynn Buffet takes reservations. I haven’t waited in a line for anything in Vegas for at least a decade. I’m not a fan of downtown Vegas (that’s crowded!) and would much rather play at local’s casinos such as Sunset Station, Red Rock, Palace Station, South Point, M, SunCoast, and Rampart which are all great at lower & higher coin denominations.😉🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

Please don't give any action to this joint. They devastated their player incentives for video poker. A game like NSUD gets NO POINTS AT ALL. There are still plenty of other local's casinos that give a gambler a fair shake.
