I just got this printer for Christmas and this video really helped with the leveling. Thank you so much :D
thank you so much for this video I was able to get my printer leveled and to produce a good print. I had been struggling for days to successfully level my printer.
This video is a god-send, starting with the voltage selection, which was wrong in my case! Many thanks!
Just bought a 5 S1, this video was super helpful for starting it up and running its first print! Much appreciated!
I had the same problem with auto-leveling. Seems to work better just without using the auto-leveling feature.
Hey bud your leveling advice is literally damaging people machines. Multiple comments in here to back it up. I watched your full video on your other channel to guide me through the set up much appreciated. But if you level this way after a few times you will have your head go right through the bed. You're a problem until you correct this. You need to tighten all the knobs when the machine is off, don't even have to be even, just not loose, so you have play to manually level later. Then when you turn on manual leveling the first step is to adjust the whole bed with the arrows on the screen to a reasonable gap at any corner. THEN proceed to go corner by corner with the paper gap and knobs. Including checking the center. I had to learn this myself after thinking through it since I destroyed my magnetic bed cover and had to purchase a new one didn't want to cause any more damage and some of my knobs were no longer attached to their posts.
Yea I damage my bed the same way watching this video never got to print and its damage....grr
GOING TO TRY THIS TODAY WHEN I GET HOME - ALSO SEEING A LOT OF PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT THE Z AXIS TENSION IN THE LEAD SCREW - GUESS WE'LL FIND OUT - ALSO SOMETHING TO NOTE THAT I NOTICED IS THAT WHENEVER I USED THE GCODE THEY GAVE ME OF THE RABBIT, THE LEVELING IS PERFECT AND PRINTER WORKS - THEN WHEN I USE SOMETHING I WANT TO PRINT FOR MY RC CARS THE THING WONT PRINT - EITHER TOO HIGH OR TOO LOW - MY PRINT BED LOOKS LIKE A SCENE FROM THE CHAINSAW MASSACRE... NO JOKE.

Auto Bed Leveling (ABL) has a lot of problems on FW v1.0.6. The extra steps taken seem to help a lot.
Hoping v1.0.7 it's fixed
Now in August 2023, the homing doesn't go to the bottom. You can still adjust the z-offset live whilst printing too. It's a nice quiet printer compared to my ender 3v2.
thx a lot for details
I've been trying to get my Z offset
and it seems when it goes to the top so I can make adjustments there is always a gap of about 5mm
Nothing is adhering to the plate. Any idea why it may not be letting me adjust the Z to the paper thin size.
I had the same issue with that height
it worked fine first but after i leveled everything for the 2nd time, now it starts printing too far above the build plate and i've about had it with this printer.
Adjust z offset
@@TinderSwindler_ After some days it fixed itself, I don't know why it wasn't working. Next problem is the bed does not heat evenly. On the left side and bottom, mostly towards the left, the parts are warping and lifting off. Printing in the center works fine. Also when I tell it to go to position Z = 50, it will go to position Z = 288 and stop. Also, where is the WiFi???!!!!!!
This happened with me too it just ignores the leveling entirely
@@jimek13 it got even worse, at one point during the manual leveling, when going from position a to b, the bed actually moved up, then the head moved scratching the shit out of the bed and then the bed went down again. I'm pretty sure this printer is ruined.
@@dronefootage2778 this identical thing happened to me my plate is destroyed I got a new one. I think I solved. Turn machine off. Manually tighten all 4 knobs til they're pretty tight don't worry about even across all 4. Turn machine back on. Manual level a corner. While on the corner 2 for instance use the screen to adjust the middle and eye the gap and make it closer. Then proceed to use the knob. Hope that makes sense
Is it shaking as much as it looks like?
nice work
My version does not have Z axis switch... is this a problem? :(
Do not level this way. bring bed up and set offset first then paper the corners and last auto level. this video is wrong
Yep I had to switch after watching this to what you described. You have to do offset first even if you bring it to a corner in manual level and adjust the offset from there by eye before going to the center or using the knobs. This guy is giving advice that will literally damage your machine after a few levels. I would know because it happened to me.
Your unboxing and assembly/review glossed over the odd layering issue you encountered. Others are in the same position but you're in a position to get something done about it so how 'bout you contact Creality to ascertain why the layering issue is occurring.
And you glossed over the layer issue here in this video as well.
look at the other channel he mentioned it many times
I see they're pulling yee ol EA games "sims" approach: release the same device over and over and make 2-3 size differences with upgrades. Oh and charge a ridiculous price to boot.....
This is nothing new in the tech industry. Like seriously, look at Apple and Samsung
