You cannot replace an existing SSD with a bigger one such as he shows here. You have to clone your data (OS + everything on your disk) to the new one using a third party software by first putting it in a case with a outgoing USB cable which you will attach to your computer to do cloning, then you can replace the bigger SSD with the existing one. Otherwise you are going to loose all your data.

Oh yeah definitely. It’s ‘optimal’ to perfectly match them, but I don’t think you could even notice the difference without measuring it in a benchmark tool.
how long can last the battery just with a normal use like watch videos, office work... etc?
If you're not "power using" this thing with games or like video editing - you'll get something more like 5 or 6 hours of battery life.

@@SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE thanks
How do i unplug the battery like you did? Mine feels like the white thing with colorful wires is glued on
Oh no. Thats a bummer. It was probably a little dribble of extra glue. MOST LIKELY nothing will go wrong if you don’t unplug the power. Fundamentally this all works the same as a desktop computer and I’ve plucked ram sticks out while my bench computer is running just to see what it will do. After a restart everything was fine.
DONT DO THIS WHILE ITS RUNNING, it if the computer is shut down you’ll be fine.
Is the other 8gb soldered down or is that upgradeable as well?

Yes it sure would!

Depends on where you are at, USA and Canada it does not.
I need to upgrade ssd to 2tb. Can you please guide how to update ssd by adding 2tb before first time installation to previous one because it has only 1ssd alot?
You cannot replace an existing SSD with a bigger one such as he shows here. You have to clone your data (OS + everything on your disk) to the new one using a third party software by first putting it in a case with a outgoing USB cable which you will attach to your computer to do cloning, then you can replace the bigger SSD with the existing one. Otherwise you are going to loose all your data.
@ArdaSu2008 right. Thanks for the detailed information. Secondly I hope HP victus ci5 13500h, 15-fa1010nr version supports 2TB SSD?
@@SW-ud1wt I think it will go OK with 2tb SSD, if it is a 2.5 Sata SSD. For 2.m NVMe disks check first the physical size of the original one before you buy 2tb because they come in 3 different sizes depending on their capacity.
@ArdaSu2008 HP victus has 2280 nvme
i bought the same ram stick, it doesn’t align with the thing i used your link and everything, im so lost
Im learning that some varients of this laptop come with DDR5 RAM instead of DDR4. Im going to guess this applies to yours. See if the ram that was in there when you bought it has "DDR5" written on it anywhere,.
Excellent, I will be doing an upgrade to 32GB. Do you think that it's more likely to have the 16 GB stock version have 2x 8GB or 1x 16GB already installed in it? I'm trying to penny pinch, 2x 16GB sticks are $65-odd. Trying to save money to do schooling and save for the REAL rig....
Did you open it up and find out? I'm curious about this as well
@@Big_Hummus I actually didn't have to open it to find out. To find out, since this laptop for me is running Linux, I just ran "dmidecode" as root and it told me all the hardware inside and all details about the hardware, revealing my laptop to be containing 2x 8GB sticks made by Samsung Semiconductor. I don't know if this form of installation is universal across all 16GB Victus laptops. I also have no idea how to do this on Windows. But anyway, my installation is already complete and the laptop cleaned and working great!*
* -> For some reason, Linux is deciding to make 21 GB buffer/caches. Couldn't tell you why.
Further, RAM is actually cheaper than I thought, $56 for 2x16 GB from Crucial on Amazon. I do not recommend buying from A-Tech.

@@SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE I was gonna reply to this other guy, but apparently my message vanished. You don't actually have to open it to find out, and I already did the upgrade successfully. I found that I had 2x 8GB by Samsung Semiconductor by running "dmidecode" on my Victus (It runs Linux). I don't recall exactly, but I'm sure Windows has something to do this as well. Thus, if like in my case where this laptop has been in service for a couple years or so, then people can just check.
Good video. I just tried to upgrade from 16g to 32 g. Used the same brand but my laptop will not boot with the new ram. I put the two 8g cards back in and it boots up. Does anyone have an idea as to why this is happening?
That’s odd. 32gb should definitely work. MAYYYYYBE it just didn’t quite seat in the slot completely on one of the cards?
Maybe one chip arrived DOA?
I’d try it with one 8 and one 16 just to see if it boots
@ Thanks for the response and yes I did try it with one of the 8g sticks then swapped them. Did not boot. It is even more odd that the two 8s were put in by me a couple of years ago and they work perfectly. Both sets are Teamgroup ddr4
@ I can’t make sense of it :/
I just put a 16gb next to the 8gb mine came with and it worked..
Should I upgrade from 16gb ddr4?
16 is enough for playing most of AAA games
max out the meemory if possible it always better to have too much than too little
Yep, 16gb is enough for almost all games. Sometimes city builder games can get REALLY ram thirsty late game but for the huge majority 16gb will be great
Depends what you’re using the computer for, but in MOST cases, games won’t improve with more than 16gb
That’s true, too much ram and you won’t notice, but too little ram and basically everything stops working
Yo bro is it ok if i juss add another 8gb since it already has an 8??????

@@ThisGuy5000 yes, but there are some with DDR4 ram and some with DDR5 ram, so if you didn’t save the box, you may have to take the bottom plate off before ordering your ram to make sure you get the right type.

Hello, can you transfer gtx from victus to rtx?
I don’t think I know what you mean. Are you asking if you can replace the graphics card?
Do I need a anti static mat
It wouldn’t be a BAD idea, but you don’t need one. Just make sure as you sit down to work you first touch something metal.
@ explain because this is my first time upgrading and I don’t want to mess anything up
@@ManChill21 so a large static shock CAN damage sensitive electronics. Some of the tool kits like ifixit come with a little wrist band tether that is also connected to a grounded part on the computer or to a grounded mat. What it does is keep a continuous connection between you and the electronics so that if static builds up on you due to something like a loose wool sweater, it won’t jump between you and what you touch, because you are already connected to it.
The other thing you can do is make a mental note of where you’re doing this type of work. If you generally get static shocks when you get up from your chair or when you touch something metal then yes, definitely use grounding safeties. If you haven’t felt a static shock since getting out of your car in the winter time, then you generally have nothing to worry about.
Is there extra ssd slot ?
Nope, there is only one SSD slot, so upgrading is a bit more annoying just because youll have to work out a way to mirror your data. But its really easy to get to, so the actual SSD install is super quick.

There is a measurable difference between dual-channel and single-channel, can be as much as 27% difference. If your goal is just gaming, 2x8gb sticks WILL net better fps better than 1x8gb and 1x16gb. Otherwise, good info here
Im led to believe there is something called Flex (or Asymmetric) Dual-Channel Mode. Where if I pair an 8gb stick with a 16gb stick, the first 8x8gb's will be dual channel - only if a program asks for more than 16gb ram will it run slower.
Is this not your assumption as well?
@SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE Flex is an Intel only tech, so very dependent on platform, but some of the lower tier chips do not support it
