I know people always say that about every generation change (Victorian kids vs '20s, '40s and '50s kids vs hippies)...but at least those were about friendly culture for the most part (flappers showing more leg, hippies taking drugs promoting peace/love)....Gen Z is dark.
Gen z are losers
there’s less bullying amongst Gen Z than there is Millennials though…
not you self projecting. gen z is making sure bullies take accountability for their actions, you sound like you some allegations against you, so you’re scared because the shoe fit
Early 2000s students would literally beat up kids who liked anime or videogames. Cliques too, don't exist nearly as much as they did back then.
My favorite movies in theaters (that I remembered when I was little) were
Underdog, Hairspray, Charlotte's Web, Shaggy Dog, Narnia, Nacho Libre, and Night at the Museum.
I was just getting old enough to start going here. There really wasn't any reason to take a lil kid there much- but i remember this era well. It was such a big open space, lots of air, & mellow. Plus those goofy deep voices saying stuff over the speaker systems had a certain vibe to them. & playing random music I've never heard again & just being okay w/it. Some great old memories this brings back, thanks.
Notice almost everyone paying in cash. Back then I used my debit card for a lot of purchases but used cash so much more often than now. So much has changed and some things are still the same
Beautiful footage
Thank you as always ☺️
Rush Hour 2. Still one of my favorite movies til this day
Rush Hour 2, and Osmosis Jones were the two headliners. What a world it was.
I love some K-Ci and Jojo. Their song at the start of this video is from the 'Save the Last Dance' soundtrack.
the 2000s was the best decade in the history of humanity
I was only one in 2001 cause I’m 2000 baby but anything 00’s and earlier makes me nostalgic idk /: makes me feel some type of way I wish I could’ve experienced 70’s , 80’s , 90’s n early 00s (not as a kid but maybe teenager or in early twenties)
I remember visiting the world's largest mall (at the time) in 2001 and watching Cat and Dogs and Artificial Intelligence. This was a few months before September 11. Next month, I am visiting that same mall and city / province (excluding the airport) again for the first time since September 11 and a lot major events in the past 2 decades.
Idk why this channel was recommended to me, but damn, got me in all the feels. 😢😢😢😢
0:21 Love the banner for 'NSYNC: Bigger Than Live! People are still trying to hunt that movie down. It's considered lost media to this day.
What a coincidence Scary Movie just went off like 30min ago
The teaser trailer of Spider-Man (2002) was attached to the screenings of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, Jurassic Park III, Planet of the Apes, Rush Hour 2, and American Pie 2. To keep fans from leaving before the movie was over.
the best thing I can say about that time period was everything was still functioning the way things should be. I remember personally feeling lighter about stuff then and I didn't know everything yet and that was a good thing. We know too much today.
The times when going to the movies was an exciting time. There was a lot of good movies listed 🍿📽
At first I was like, 2001? That wasnt that long ago, big deal...
Then I was like, oh, right, that was over 20 years ago already...
THEN I was like, wow I was already in my early 20s then...
Now I'm like, numb...
I was 10 years old back then.
I remember the song playing in the beginning too. I’m guessing it’s by Casey and JoJo? Or something like that
It is
Spy Kids, Cats and Dogs, See Spot Run, Planet of the Apes, Osmosis Jones, Jurassic Park lll, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, The Princess Diaries, Monsters Inc, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Pokémon 3: The Movie
Bring back the days!
I remember going to the movies my mom and dad used to take to the theaters alot
I started singing along right away when this movie started.
Planet of the Apes 2000s was a mistake, but at least the Rise trilogy got it right!
And wow. Fast X is about to come out. Fast and Furious is all new in this video.
Nostalgia: "Why you hit so hard?!" -Osmosis Jones
My Son And I Have Seen Legally Blonde, And We Usually Watch It On My Son's PS2 Slim And PS5
why does 2001 seem so long ago so crazy
Show us the inside of the theater and filing people getting popcorn, soda and candy along of going in the movie room where to show mostly of the movie.
"Rush Hour 2" came out on August 3rd, 2001. "The Others" came out on August 10th, 2001. This is a month (or less) away from the September 11th attacks.
I watched jurassic park 3 in theaters. Shrek, Harry Potter and Jimmy neutron were top kids movies
Rush Hour 2 is somewhere in my top 30 favorite movies haha
I can remember going to the mall to watch Shrek, eat a happy meal and play with my shrek toy prize... dude I wanna go back.. back when things had SOUL
Omg I was born in 2001 it’s feel like I traveled back in time
Lol at the guy taking his 12 year old kid to see American Pie 2 😂
Going to the movies is so fun!
Well well well look how amazing it looks, and its 2001, Rush Hour 2
I was playing EverQuest nearly everyday back then
Based af.
I caught Planet of the Apes in the summer of 2001. I loved it, I'm a fan of the originals and it was one of the few things to distract me from the fact that my girlfriend of four years was became a stripper and was cheating on me when we were supposed to be moving into an apartment together. Great times!
4:04 Love her y2k style french tips. 2001 was the year I first got my nails done, as a teen, similar to these 😂
Could've skipped school for it better than once.
Living in Orange County, I'd usually go to Universal Studios for my birthday as a kid, it was a lot more affordable than Disneyland at least at the time. This video was filmed not too long after my family took me for my 3rd birthday, thanks for this.
Wow, this is incredible footage. I was born in the year 2004 so I have never experienced the good ole days. I just don't think the cinemas are the same after the coronavirus pandemic.
The year I graduated high school. Almost 22 year's ago😮
2001 that was a very great year for me I had just met my daughter's mother that same year wow
Broooo look at the theater showings!!! Goddam that line up is stacked 😧😧😧😧😧 also why tf is that father bringing his kids to see American pie 2?? Lol
I saw rush hour 2 in theaters
I really grew up during the late 90's and early 2000's. Truly a weird and exceptional time
I just feel like the aura of this time was so much brighter. People were so much friendlier. Life was generally happier. Then, enter 9/11… and a series of unfortunate events in the years and decades after.
The sequels that came out in 2001, rush hour 2, american pie 2, and jurassic park 3. I saw jurassic park 3 at the theaters in 2001.
Oh man, 2001, i remember that one Movie they made with planes and towers and ending peoples freedom to invade countries they do not belong to...i think they made a sequel in Europe this year which they had in production since 2009.
🎯…. Underrated comment
Rush Hour 2 was and still is my movie 😁
It got lot of movies sign my favorite is jurassic park 3 (2001) I love that I went to amc theatres 🎥 to watch that with my mom I was a kid my childhood so many memory
Not just any movie theatre either. This would be at one of the Universal Resorts.
The cinema at Universal CityWalk got remodeled and looks way different today. I'm going to Universal Studios tomorrow
months before monsters inc hits the big screen.
