She applied moisture before threading. Applying moisture or a cream allows the thread to glide and not hurt the skin so much.

The fact that he isn't flinching or showing any painful expressions at all makes me think he's done this sorta thing a bunch of times already. I only ever get my eyebrows *waxed*, (which I know is definitely less painful than this) and it hurt so bad at first, but at this point, I've been getting them waxed for years, so I don't even bat an eye when getting them done. Kudos to this guy, for real.

When people say this is ''painful'' it's not painful as people may think. You may feel a bit of pain but it's really not bad. Just grab a elastic and rub it up against your head and you'd probably feel the equivalent to what he is feeling. A little bit of pain, but nothing serious. It's like getting a small cut it doesn't hurt to much.

Those of you going "It's actual painful!": y'all know people have different interpretations to senses right? For example, I hate having to use tweezers for my nose-hairs while a good friend of mine loves to do it for himself. Similarly, I don't mind and feel a lot less pain if I just use wax to rip them all out in one goal.
What I'm trying to say is: this big dude getting his facial hair threaded might actually be 100% enjoying it and might be at that sweet-spot where just enough pain feels good.

I don't understand? what does the string do? why not use a razor? someone explain
Well, it basically does the same job as with the razor, it is another means of shaving although a little painful.
String removes the hair from the roots and razor only cuts the outer surface of the hair due to which it grows back soon
If it's done with threading it will still grow in 30 days
