      Thank you so much. Yes, I got all of the things that the breeder listed in the paperwork. I know how delicate animal stomachs are so I won’t change the food, but I really appreciate you taking your time to say that. I have Yorkshire terrier‘s, and if I don’t change their food at a very slow pace they get extremely sick. I don’t know if this is ever a video you would make, but I would love to see a video on introducing Siberian kittens to other pets. I’m sure it’s different every time, but any info would be wonderful. You are very good on camera, and this was a really wonderful video.

    I don't understand why you would tell people to give them dry food only..especially when they can be prone to HCM.

    • @musrafysiberians5700
      @musrafysiberians5700  3 роки тому +4

      Hi Kelly, the recommendation is for my kittens only. I have not had a cat develop a heart issue in 20 years of breeding, so my cats are not prone to HCM. All parents get scanned by licensed cardiologist as a precaution to ensure they all have healthy hearts.
      Are you able to support your statement with some facts? It’s the first time I’ve heard that dry food is bad for cats hearts.
      Please check the nutritional information. Royal Canin breed specific range is tailored for specific breed requirements, e.g. Maine Coon and Sphinx food has increased taurine, EPA/DHA, L-Cartinine added specifically to address their predisposition to heart problems.

    Hello I watched with interest. I have a Neva Masquerade Siberian who will be 2 years this 12/5/2023. I purchased him from a breeder in Virginia. I never brush but in the same direction the coat lays... he doesn't like that and I wonder if it could be uncomfortable. I am careful it not using that wire slicker brush because it hurts. I tried that on my own scalp and it can hurt. I find a comb ( I have an assortment of large plastic long fine teeth combs I bought on Amazon) does a better job of getting the molting undercoat out. No matter my approach which I started him being brushed at a young age - he protests. Therefore I do it a few times weekly for a short time each session to keep on top of mats and the coat turnover with seasons changing. I never trim the back claws because I feel he needs those for jumping off and just walking traction. I won't let him outside as I feel an outdoor cat can become victimized by other animals, cars, people who dislike cats and where I live I have no doubt someone would steal him. I never would put parasite meds on a cat - that stuff can cause harm and even death . I had my Flavio dewormed as a young kitten but don't see he has had signs of parasites of any kind since I feed him 2x daily, wet food and limited dry Royal Canin. He is a big boy and weighs 25 lbs. now. I love him terribly.

Both fleas and ticks are more common in the summer, and some gardens could have visiting hedgehogs or foxes that can transmit both fleas and ticks

      Hi,
      I have tried every method of feeding in the past 20 years, and found that my cats thrive on Royal Canin Maine Coon/Kitten. It is consistent, convenient and bacteria and antibiotics free.
      I wean my kittens on to Royal Canin Baby mousse, transition to raw and stop raw by the age of 4 months.
      My cats do not suffer from parasitic or bacterial overgrowth, hence do not show any digestive issues when fed dry.
      I recommend this method for the kittens that I bred, but always happy to advise on other alternatives if new owners wish to feed differently

    • @musrafysiberians5700
      @musrafysiberians5700  3 роки тому +1

      Hi,
      Not common at all.
      I might have been extremely lucky, but had no issues in 18 years of breeding. Can you please share a link to the statistics that state that HCM is the most common disease in Siberians? I’d like to look into it.
      Kittens can not be checked for HCM as their hearts are still developing.
      The best advice for new kitten owner who is concerned about this condition is to buy from a scanned parents. But unfortunately both parents Negative results will not guarantee that their offspring won’t develop it.
      HCM is more prevalent in Maine Coons and Sphynx.

    Would be a great video if the information about the food wouldn‘t be partly false. Dry food in general is not well-digestible and should be avoided as much as possible, also to help the cats stay hydrated. Dry food only includes 7-10% water while a mouse for example includes 70% water, so it‘s very easy to see the problem there.
    Whiskas is one of the worst cat food brands costing a lot but not providing a lot of well-digestible ingredients either. If you buy food with better quality ingredients the cat’s body will make better use of those, stay healthier and the cat will have to eat less of it, so it‘s not even more expensive.
    It‘s important to do proper research on the subject and the research should not lead people to these wrong conclusions you‘re providing, so please do something about it by either removing that section of the video or at least doing a pinned comment that you were wrong about it and what‘s the actual way to go about it.

      Hi Jessica.
      Have a good chat with your breeder on what works best for their cats.
      There are lots of different opinions on diets and each breeder also has their unique environment (where certain viruses and bacteria can exist without causing any harm). Changing the diet can result in upset tummies and kittens losing condition.
      My video with recommendations was designed for my kittens/owners.
      I will therefore stress that it’s very important to follow your breeders advice.
      If it is similar to mine, I can say that I also found that Specific Kitten DRY food is very good and Royal Canin Maine Coon adult DRY is great for adults.
