My Siberian Meeps is awesome. She acts like a puppy. Bull rushes my wife and I every time we open the bedroom door in the morning. Talks constantly, plays with her toys by herself, purrs like a 350 small block, and loves anyone who visits our house. She's 16lbs and just a giant floof of love. Such a cool breed.
Mine is awesome too .. he has asking body I think he has a bit of maine coon somewhere but he plays talks with me is sooooo affectionate he follows me everywhere hes my best friend
I have a Siberian that is the most unique cat I've ever known. She is so loveable and equally as feisty. She is beautiful and fierce and smart and has the sweetest little meows and chirps - she's a 100% treasure of a friend.
My Siberian is always talking and her little chirps are just adorable, I can never get tired of it. Agree most unique cat I've ever known as well and she showed up as a stray on my porch a month after my cat I've had since I was a teenager passed away. It was super hard to open myself up to a new friend but she never gave up on me and kept showing up as soon as I got home from work. Was less than a month until I caved and brought her in, she seemed right at home from day one.
That's how we took our Siberian cat from the shelter, he had lived there for 4 months, it's hard to imagine a better cat than a Siberian, a very loyal and smart animal. We took it together with another cat from the shelter, the other cat is heavier and fatter than the Siberian cat, the Siberian weighs around 7 kg, the other cat over 9 kg. If you have to choose a cat again, then only Siberian cats.
I had a siberian Forest Cat Hendrix he passed away from cancer. Now have Milton Maine Coon. Very similar cat breeds. Milton is more affectionate. Both are huge creatures that grew up over 25 pounds.
The Maine Coon cat looks like it could work on a farm all day and is extremely muscular. Um -that may be true but my cats look like two big, furry couch potatoes. They rarely do anything but eat, sleep and shed and hate being outside for more than a minute. Like most other breeds of cats, they can't stand having their paws wet and unlike most other Maine Coons don't like the water at all. I think I got jipped. 😭 Still, they do like to cuddle and roll around begging for treats and attention. they are also pretty good at playing fetch especially if you are tossing hair ties. (don't ask I don't understand it either) So, I guess I can't really complain too much. 🤣😂😆
Thanks for sharing "a day in the life" of your Maine Coon. I am sure the pros outweigh the cons. Plus, eating, sleeping, cuddling, and begging for treats and attention are all good things - after all, we expect nothing less from our pets.
Ahh, I'm sorry to hear about Nikita. Our pets are our pride and joy, and it is never easy when they leave us. She is with you in spirit. Thanks for sharing!
Mine is 22 pounds , very muscular , acts like a dog and can be mean to visitor. Being all black makes him looks even meaner. He is an outstanding hunter. He is very affectionate with me and is best friend with my dog :)
Go visit catteries. Thats the best way. You'll fall in love with all of them. We may have had a Siberian. She arrived on our doorstep. We had her for 20 years and she never got along with our British blue Burmese or our 7lb. Korat, who bullied her mercilessly. We think she may have been abused as she was pure white with a blue eye and a yellow eye and I can only imagine how cute she was as a kitten. Just the gift for a toddler or two (sarcasm).
What criteriae determines which breed I'd get ?!? The cost. Period. Siberians can cost upwards of $2,500 - even as much as $4,000. And then there are Vet's bills & medications - the cost of a Groomer, etc. You have to be a gazillionaire to own one. Ditto for Norwegian Forest Cats - anywhere from $800 to $1,500 !! And Maine Coons can be anywhere from $2,000 to $5,000 !! The big boys can cost big bucks. I'll stick to rescue cats - black cats for preference - or ginger tabbies. Between $25 to $100 is about my limit.
Siberians don't need any special grooming. Unlike Persian's, their fur doesn't get tangled by itself. Just brush them sometimes (or don't😂) and you'll be fine.
i am looking for one of these two purebred cats. taking into account that i already own a cat. as a type of cat i would like him to be attached to me all the time. that he likes water to shower occasionally and he likes heights. i am very undecided. of course it would be much easier if i could have the opportunity to have both. as a color I would like it black or at most red (these are good wearing colors). thank you for giving me some thoughts for reflection
I never had a Maine coin but I currently have a Siberian forrest cat. If you have kids, don't get one of these. My Siberian, is very territorial and "the boss" of the house. Not a lap cat !!! You can pet him on his terms. His fur has to be taken care of by the Vet. His shedding is a nightmare. I love him, but will NEVER have another one. Beware !!!
I have to disagree... extremely affectionate cat, laying on my chest or on my back while I'm sleeping, he comes to every guest in the house looking for pets, purring constantly. Fur need to be brushed every day, but nothing special- much easier than my two british short-haired. He's also standing on the back legs and praying for pets! The best breed!
You shouldn't have cats at all- you want to have alive toys for your kid. Its the most terrible attitude for animals and for cats. Buy some ugly doll toy in store and be happy.
Had a completely different experience with my Siberian. Mine is super sweet and super patient. Sometimes I feel bad cause I'll be at my desk working away and the moment I turn around she's just there waiting for me to let her crawl onto my lap. She's very communicative with her chirps, purrs and meows and she seems to read my body language better than any cat I've had before.
I have 5 cats 4 are rescues. My dog is a rescue. I have never purchased a pet. I always wanted a MC and bought one when I turned 62, now or never. Will never regret buying my MC.
Many people choose Siberians because they are less allergenic. That is why I have had to choose Siberians. My first 2 were adopted from families who needed to rehome them at the ages of 7 and 9, but I now have been unable to find one to adopt and may have to purchase from a breeder. People with allergies and extremely severe asthma like me deserve to be able to have a pet without being told we are selfish.
It is completely unfair of you to implicitly characterize people who purchase animals instead of adopting them from the shelter. If you're a responsible pet parent, I don't agree that it's the end of the world if some folks want a certain type of cat. Further, labeling them "designer" is a misnomer. These animals in the video (not to speak for all breeds) came about as a product of their environment, and the needs of humans to have pest control. Take a step back and look at things from another perspective, you might not see the world the same.
I was 1000% set on adopting rather than shopping for our cat, would've been fine with anything. BUT found out my husband and daughter have severe allergies after being tested. So, we have to go to a breeder in order to ensure our cat is a hypoallergenic breed (Siberian).

Hi, I was just wanting to ask if your siberian leaves hair all around the house and on surfaces, and on you if you hold it? Many thanks

Sorry to hear about Hendrix"s passing. It's so hard when our pets move on to pet heaven. Maine Coons are adorable and thank you for leaving a comment.
I wanna get a Siberian due to allergies
Total life saver
I hope you have gotten Siberian purrrrrrrrrrfect baby by now.

My Siberian comes home in a few hours. 🎉
Ahh, we all need a furry companion. Thanks for sharing!
Used to have a Maine Coon that would dive into the pond to catch frogs. He was actually quite good at it.
Thanks for sharing!
I’ve just reserved a second Maine coon kitten , beautiful affectionate cats 😀
I have both...my Maine Coon male Pancho and my Sibirian male Nikita...love them over all❤❤❤
A very good review / comparison - thank you.

Ahh, I'm sorry to hear about Nikita. Our pets are our pride and joy, and it is never easy when they leave us. She is with you in spirit. Thanks for sharing!

Maine coon definitely for me❤
Siberian cats cannot stay alone for long. Mine, like many others, need a lot of attention and don't like to spend long hours at home alone.
siberian 100%
Good video.
Ahhh, Thank you!
Everytime i hear someone say Siberian Cat i always think of Siberian Tiger 💀
Cat very beautiful very nice colour and very happy 🐈
Thanks for leaving a comment!
Which to choose ? Easy. A Norwegian Forest Cat
Russian blue
I like all forest cats. Russian Blue is not mine, I like colorful long fur.
Good info. Please tone the music down a bit. It is quite distracting and loud.
Aww
Siberian weights 9 - 18 pounds? Ha! My Genghis Khan is 20!
...he's on a diet...
never seen a solid red or blue cat but ok 👍 🤣🤣

You are welcome and thanks for watching!
You forgot that as far as the main coon's appearance they have the M marking on their head by their brows.
That’s just a tabby marking. Not just Maine Coons.
So do Siberians btw

You left out the Norwegian Forrest Cat
Thanks for watching!
😊👍👍
There are so many homeless cats & kittens already who need homes! we dont need to breed more justto get some designer cat.
I have 5 cats 4 are rescues.My dog is a rescue. I have never purchased a pet.
I always wanted a MC and bought one when I turned 62, now or never.
Will never regret buying my MC.
This are not designed cats, they are both very old breed, became naturally.
