Five years now since you left. Five years and my brain still hurts a lot.
i was born in ‘03 and knowing this was in ‘04 is such a hit to me. Thankfully i grew up with a mom that played rock icons and amazing movies. bowie is such a big part of my life, sadly i never got to see him on tour…when he died in 2016 it hurt tremendously, and when i listen to his music or watch his movies to this day i feel pain. rest peacefully starman❤️
This version of diamond dogs sounds closer to the original studio version than any other live version I've heard, really sounds good
You should hear the version with out music
Drummer Sterling laying it down.
The dark haired guitarist on the left really brought the sound from the original recording (which Bowie played IIRC).
Aha, just read another commenter who identifies him as Earl Slick. Makes sense.
@@chasbodaniels1744 - Yes, he's Earl Slick.
I remember buying Ziggy as a teenager and was blown away by 5 years. Even after all these years it remains a lyrical masterpiece. We miss you Bowie
Totally agree n facing some weird times n ppl bugging, I wonder if Lennon n David are discussing more lyrics for a phenomenal comeback ?? Wouldn't that blow minds...w the starman dropping them at the Dakota .. Cool as hell I'd say.miss em both.
Best live version of DD 30 years after the original.
This genius doesn't stop impressing me until the day I die.
Was no joke singing 5 years in key along with the instrumentals playing off tune on purpose at times. What a musician Bowie is.
even the "mistakes" were intentional. he was a true genius, always mutating into a better bowie, resilient and reminding me I wish I could see him a fifth time. maybe in heaven if there's a heaven.
2 days ago, I walk into a Cumberland farms a guy from town walks up to me & says diamond dogs!! He's a little weird & I know this!!! I'm 60, I turn & recite "future legend,"he says wtf & walks off!! May bowie live for ever!!!!!!!
I always loved Earl Slick on guitar. He was No. 2 in my book..Right in line behind Mick Ronson!
He looks the part alright and he is a great guitarist. Gerry Leonard the other guitarist is also a great asset. Not forgetting the brilliant Gail Ann on the base They were a great band together. Must have been hard for them when David passed away.
I agree, Blayne about Earl Slick. He puts on a great sideman show but I wish he'd have gotten his teeth fixed. Even just a bit of work would have made a lot of difference.
@@1ilgrillo he's a doll! Teeth n all.
I agree also.Love to hear Mick Ronson make the chords chatter.
Skinny Karlos Jesus Christ, what the fuck was wrong with his teeth, typical.
DB looked far younger then his age here and he is singing better then ever and yet he was just a few weeks away from suffering a heart attack on stage in Germany that ended his touring career - what a shame - taken way before his time. RIP David
Summer of 1974 this album was my soundtrack at 13 years old. Best summer!
"never thought I´d need so many people" - very meaningfull. Very strong.
Interesting fact: Bowie played all instruments on the album 'Diamond Dogs', including the iconic riff on 'Rebel Rebel'.
Steve Nease not all but quite a few
@@kiandagger He was a fabulous rhythm and acoustic guitarist, but not considered a great lead, and this was why we loved the rawness of this LP after Sir Michael of Hull
Bullshit. Do some research before you write such stupid things.
He didn’t play any bass or drums. Nor the guitar in 1984. But it was mostly him and awesome in any event. Missing the man….
Love Bowie , then an now . ,
Pulled you out of an Oxygen Tent , to go to a party . ICONIC. 😎🎸😎
The diamond dogs are poltures and they hide behind trees
Best live version of Diamond Dogs ever done!
Gary Graham it’s excellent. I’ll even forgive him getting stump and hump the wrong way round in the opening lines!
This is really good.
If i loved Bowie just for his lyrics i would find a cave to hide. It's the music, his band and their stage presence that will keep me singing his praises.
Nice rendition of 'Five Years', the best opening track to any album, ever.
Already wearing sensible shoes. He had been singing this song for 20 years or so at this point. He looks great.
30 years - DD was released in 1974.
This was the first record i ever bought at 12 years old from some used record shop on E 14 st back in the 1970's. I had no idea who this Artist was, after listening to this album, I went back for more & more.
My sister who played with Lisa Lisa & the cult jam opened for David Bowie Glass Spider Tour which I got to go backstage and meet Bowie and Carlos his awesome guitarist. A lot shorter than I had imagined as I towered over him at 5'10. But nevertheless he was a giant next to my most loved & appreciated genuine creative artist!
God Bless you Bowie & the beautiful & gorgeous family you leave behind with us as a reminder! 💞
R.I.P Diamond Dog. a talent that will be sadly missed.
This is the very best Live - Version Of Daimond Dogs ever !! It sounds very close to the Original Studio Recording !!! "AWESOME" !!!!
real artists such as bowie , who have always made real art go too soon! rip starman
Whoever filmed this did an amazing job, well done you !!

5;yrs will be relevant for ever on this planet we call earth...Bowie u are the best of the best
My two favorite Bowie songs, back to back. Cool!
'Five Years' is the greatest album intro song ever. Nothing else comes close.
Another masterpiece from a master.god a wish you were still here.its not the same without you xx
I was 14 years old when my dad took me to this show, 3 rows from the front!
DAVID ALWAYS PULLS OUT THE 12 STRING
RIP David sorry we've lost our diamond dog xx
He's in outer heaven now.
god damn you cancer
Wow - he sounds great here!
Totally ... I'm trying to do a few Bowie Covers on YT ... the crowd was shouting and hurling certain objects .... they looked so angry so I left via the gents toilet window ... must be bad.
Saw him on this tour. Grateful that I did. He sounded and looked amazing.
David Bowie il mondo intero ti ricorderai per sempre vera super star musica ritmo eccellente bellissimo rhank very much
Two great songs from a genius that I would love to see another album from...
🎼🥁🎵🎷🎤🎸 Happy Birthday David Bowie, I’ll always remember you on this day 👨🏻🎤👩🏼🎤🧚🏻♂️ Better remembering the 8.th. of January, than the 10.th.🖤💔
Everything he did was a shift from previous LPs.
What a great clip of legend and icon DAVID BOWIE! Mannequins with kill appeal!
Halloween Jack is a real cool cat.
Those lyrics still make me laugh and smile today, decades after first heard.
Five Years...WOW, how fkng apt for our times.
so talented that will never be matched
Saw Bowie live 4 times. Best live performance of Diamond Dogs ever! My opinion, best tour ever was 79 or 80 (sorry, I was a little tipsy for much of my youth) when I saw him at BC Place in Vancouver.
MoreMedication witnessed this genius Live in Philly, early 80's...drug induced bliss at that time...oh youth oh David...
also thanks for this...loved 5 years.
I saw him around 1976 or maybe 1977 and in 2004. Only twice. He didn’t come to my area as much as other places. Love him so much. Been a giant fan since 1972 approximately. This is a great Diamond Dogs live performance considering how old the song is. Can hear the back up singer too much though.
I only saw him once, DAMNIT!
@@larrymagee8758 Hi, this is Lady Medication. (We share the account.) Unless the show you saw was during his Thin White Duke phase, then you definitely got your money’s worth. I saw him 3 (or 4) times and the other shows were amazing.
Diamond dogs tour. 1974 Universal Studios Amphitheater. Yeah, I was there 4 nights .😊😊
NEENER NEENER!😊
This is awesome! DD and 5 Years - he was in great voice and the band is of course great. Thanks!
i forgot how good this song realy is
Damn! Diamond Dogs LIVE!! I really appreciate this! awesome and thanks so much!! Totally grateful- HUGE Bowie fan- staple in my vinyl collection!! haven't seen Diamond Dogs LIVE since I don't know when man. GREAT!!! He's a legend!! ;)
Really good for an audience recording. Excellent.
Love some Earl Fucking Slick
good set list. sounding great. long show 25 songs. bowie's a musical genius and turned out to be a great guy. smart / funny
was in 2nd year English reading George Orwell's 1984 as part of the curriculum, when I bought Diamond Dogs. And lying in my room, realised, that's the book I'm reading! Mind blowing. Music on a different level.
Happy birthday, Lovely, Unique, Legendary, Extraordinary David ♥
RIP
Nothing will ever came close😪🥰
Sure wish a recording of this live was officially released!!
Diamond dogs has to be one of bowies best albums and the title track is awesome, great live version here !!
Rock on... their was Ronson..and then their was slick,,Rosebank... semper fi..
I'm kinda bummed watching this as I saw him in Pittsburgh on May 17 on this tour. Diamond Dogs is one of my favorites of his, but he didn't add it to the set until May 29, as part of his encore paired with Ziggy. Seems he only played Five Years twice, on June 1 in Manchester, NH and here in Wantagh. Tour ended the next night, so this was indeed a very rare pair of songs to capture. And well done capturing it.
Once again listening to Bowie brings me to tears.
Aww Bless .I'm sure this was round n about Heart AttAck nightmare . He always looked so damn Fabulous ly Fantastic.
i saw earl play this on his first tour with bowie in 1974…anaheim conv center!
My God - he wrote some great songs!
By far the best.
Totally ... I'm trying to do a few Bowie Covers on YT ... the crowd was shouting and hurling certain objects .... they looked so angry so I left via the gents toilet window ... must be bad.
Five years an all time classic
RIP DAVID.
still get goose bumps from 5 years Love you man
Vecchia cara Diamond dogs...sempre bella...e lui...sempre unico...love Bowie
Fisicamente meglio a 57 che a 20. E se ha fatto della chirurgia plastica, sicuramente era ben riuscita.
dimond dogs is a cool song one of my favs
The Starman
Love the Bowster. So sad about his massive heart attack and seclusion. Ten years is long enough. Come back David!
I'm from the future. It gets worse.
Wish I could’ve seen him live. Biggest regret ever.
Hal Jack 1974 classic Diamond Dogs. Five Years -Ziggy dream.1971. Great performance. Rip.

RIP David
Loving Earl Slick. We live in a society where having a cigarette is actually controversial now! haha.
AMAZING.
Gruss PANADABO
That's was brilliant
Every guitar player wants to be Keef.
Go man go !
omg
Nur besser ist heute im Musikgeschäft, der es rüberbringen kann. Wir alle wissen , dass DABO über unwahrscheinliche Begabungen verfügt, die sogar die Stones und andere Bands überrascht.
