I have a real fondness in my heart for RA2 - it was a fun set and a hectic time. We had a greenscreen, a 2 backlots and a full stage set that we rotated to serve as the oval office, the Russian premier's HQ and the war-room. It was a dynamic, fun-filled time! And I was much thinner then, so that was nice too.

Makes me shed a tear, when i remember where it all went. I still play now and then, it's still so rich and nostalgic, and you look at the developers here, for them making these games was romance.

@@mohammedriadh4990 Starcraft and Red Alert 2 had their own path in the RTS format. I liked both of them but I can understand why people would go for either game. They both succeeded in their own way. Its just that Starcraft had more people to appeal to than Red Alert.

Looks like they had so much fun making this, wicked game and its soundtrack and intro, so bad ass.
Strangely, the exact same can be said about RA3. Yet, there's no love for that one..
I think it's important to compare the good attitudes here to those of the devs for Tiberian Twilight. They sound so completely bored.
Bought it on Origin 2 weeks ago with Yuri's Revenge. Couldn't stand not playing this anymore. God it's a good game.

Install a Virtual Machine with Windows XP and play it like I do today. Or execute the game on Windows 10 using compatibility mode and select XP mode :)
to this day, i havent had more fun than any other RTS than this game. It is just, fuuuun! yes not deep, nor strategic. But it is so much fun!

So true. I remember when I got a game that was actually worth it's price tag and had me playing it on and off for years...
Now it's all about games like cod. The kind of game that's basically the same over priced shit every year that gets boring in less than a week. Sometimes days.
Still play these Westwood games to this day. Even when I build a new PC, Command & Conquer are the first games I install. For a bit of nostalgia, I still play these titles on older PCs I played them on original, still in working order.

I really dont understand why EA felt the need to completly change Red Alert.. I miss this game everyday, i grew up on Command & Conquer when i was 7, im almost 23now.

Just finished Legend of Kyrandia so I felt like looking up Brett Sperry. I miss Westwood really bad. I wish the guys from Westwood would get together and do a kickstarter campaign to do a new Lands of Lore game or something.
the voiceover is Lori Alan, aka The Boss from MGS3.
20 years later and there are constantly 2000-4000 people in the lobby playing multiplayer. Single player story that at this point is a part of a consciousness of a whole generation. Really the Opus Magnum for these guys.

it's 2021 and i *LOVE* and still play Red alert 2, especially yuris revenge where they added teams and other amazing things.
Nothing will ever beat it. I will always play it, probably even in 2050 lol.
Same, but technology moved on. I had to download a bunch of graphics patches and do some pseudo-hacking bullshit to even get it to work, and it's still a bit sloppy :P The pause menu doesn't show the "Resume Game" button, and if it's ever minimised, it's game over lol Still glad to be able to play this however xD

EA needs to remaster Red Alert 2 + Yuri's Reventage + a new expansion. Re-scan the cinematics in 4K as well.

I don't get how executives just don't understand that Details make a long lasting game. Think of all the games you want to play until you see it in your sleep.. they all have attention to detail. You can't rush a masterpiece. Fuck EA.

Really hope they remaster this game and the expansion after they finish the remaster of the original C&C and Red Alert.
I just wondered why Prism Tanks cannot be lined up to execute a more devastating attack like what Prism Towers do when they are near each other! Why is the V3 Rocket missile be shot down by enemy Patriot missiles or other enemy AA units and buildings when its older V2 Rocket unit version can't? I liked the Tesla towers being charged up by Shock Troopers though!
Tip: Download Mental Omega and all your life problems will vanish.
