I am trying to get into customer success and your explanation for the difference between Product Support and Customer Success helped a lot. I have lots of sales and customer service experience. It’s a relief to know that in customer success isn’t juggling them all cause I’m tired lol.

I loved the information you provided in the video which helped me to understand more of what a CSM does and the duties involved. I was afraid that it would basically be a higher paid Customer Service Rep role (which I’m trying to transition away from). Your video shows that is not the case at all! Keep the content coming!

Thank you so much! I'm still learning everyday new things in this role! Yes, omg I use to to think the same thing being a higher CSR. Finding out more and more that's not the case.

I’m a CSM and it really depends on the company and if they have an actual Customer Service for the customer then you will be a Customer Service Rep. I do majority customer service in my role and it’s definitely the company. I’m looking elsewhere.

It definitely interesting to see how you handle being a CSM over Suite since its a product that tends to have outages and a support backlog that I'm sure doesn't make your job any easier lol. It different than how our client success handles things since they handle the normal CS duties but also handle any more "how to" questions and support only deals with errors.

    • @JeronAkeem

@@JeronAkeem Things are going well! Our product is more complex than Suite so it can be a little more challenging to support but it’s stable. We’ve had 2 major releases and no real issues afterwards and no system issues like Suite has.

It was really interested watching your video. I have a question regarding CS Mgr., I was a Customer Service Manager for 22 years and I am currently in my life in transition. I lost mu job last year and recently heard about Customer Success, and it sounds very familiar to a Customer Service Manager. Can you advise how much of a difference between these two roles? I've worked in the manufacturing industry and did many of these functions and I was a go to person from other teams because of my experience and how much I loved to troubleshoot and find solutions for my customers. Love to hear back from you and your feedback. 😊

Customer support here, looking to get into CSM since I pretty much do all of the things now and more but I have a question. What are some of the things that CSMs tend to be responsible for that you wouldn't necessarily think of or job descriptions wouldn't include? Like I know how to prioritize and empathize with a customer, I can provide product training if needed, I know how to resolve problems, I know which other teams I need to talk to if I need Sales/Product/Engineers to assist with a problem, but what are some other things that CSMs do regularly to be successful?

Hi Jeron! I'm a Product Owner/ Business Analyst and while the pay in product management is great, I'm looking to transition into a new role that isn't so stressful. Do you think the Customer Success Manager role is a good transition for someone with my skillset?
