It's our fault it failed because we didn't buy it. I can agree with that. It's their fault for making uninspired dogshit that we didn't buy it. A product to make money instead of a work of art made with passion will fail more often than not. This is the time to be an independent developer. I agree that Spitz needed to be punished for the first part, but the fact that he learned from his mistakes, admitted he was wrong, and ultimately played a big part in saving the game means that he should have at least kept his position. Spitz stood by both the developers and the fans, and proved that he was deserving of his job.
@jackson dig deeper, Spitz has a long history going back years of being toxic to the player base. Him "standing by the community" is the narrative that he's been trying to push on his way out to polish up his own image. Spitz wasn't a hero, he was just the most disposable of a group of MOSTLY awful community managers.

Suicide Squad only will be supported for 1 year. So every expansions, dlc and season they promised will no longer be in the works ... and you only have 200 people playing it, the game has no future and never had one.

From what I can tell, this will simply lead to more and more PC games and indie developments. There's already patron and stuff, so devs with talent will go there, pen an idea and then ask people for money to make that idea into reality. Plus the old guard will just become new, freer studios that will outcompete the old ones.

Therein making their preferred brand more successful, even if just for a season. I'm all for diversity but the reality is is that gamers are predominantly middle-income earning males, or males that come from middle-income families (in the case of teens and young adults). You can't make a game that appeals to only 1-20th of your audience in the hopes that it will appeal to an outside demographic that will become consumers. You can't alienate your core audience, you have to strike a balance which isn't what has been happening for some of these high profile projects.

I think Bethesda was the only company that actually deserved to be scrapped. They didnt ever do anything besides rerelease skyrim every year and when they did make a new IP the game engine was completely outdated and didmt even work properly.
As an xbox player its just sad to see my favorite game studio just implode on itself i really hope xbox gets it together last minute and becomes good again

Spitz has been a problem for the helldivers community from the start it's not "unfortunate" that he was fired. Hell when the sony situation began he was on sonys side pissing off the community even more. He only 180ed because thousands of people told him he was an idiot. As an aside most of helldivers mods and devs are just as bad. Never before have I seen devs or mods so willing to straight up argue and directly insult their players. The devs and mods both have been quoted saying "get gud" when the most skilled players in the community are saying skill isn't the issue.

If he apologized specifically about his conduct before the sony situation, and was put on probation, where the community could hold him accountable. After some time with good behavior personally i could overlook his past deeds.

I think you got the Helldivers CM thing wrong. When spitz said “I thought you were refunding and leaving”, I think that translates to “F off you stupid gamer that I hate.” I don’t think he’s some kind of benevolent saint that only cares about the games and the gamers.

I gave up on Xbox/Microsoft after the 3rd or 4th time I had to prove my profile was mine. I might be an idiot here, but I signed up for an Xbox profile back in 2008 or 09, using the email I had at the time. Long story short. I'd moved a few times in the next 12 years, changed my main email account, and no longer remembered the old one. I had tried a couple times to change the email my Xbox profile was connected to with no success. Then, in 2020-21, Microsoft wanted me to prove my profile again, but this time I had completely forgotten the password, and long since lost where I'd written it down. I contacted Microsoft twice trying to prove the profile was mine, and was denied twice. That was it for me. Take the thousands of dollars worth of downloaded games, and thousands of hours of my life, and shove it up your @ss. I bought a PS5 not too long after, and have since bought a PC. Like I said I may have been the idiot in that situation, but there should be a good way to change the email account the profile is connected to. I couldn't find it.
