The fact that Days Gone 2 was canceled because Sony listened to non-sense about the Deacon being "too white" is so annoying. I really enjoyed Days Gone and was hoping for sequel would be made. As a gamer who just happens to be black, I seriously didn't have a problem with Deacon being white and thought the actor who portrayed him (Sam Witwer) did a great job. Matter of fact, and not to stereotype, it made the most sense for Deacon to be white because most bikers in the United States are in fact white men.
Days gone didn't do well because of different reasons than that I swear corporations will see a massive board of complaints and then see one lil sticky note in the bottom left and go yes this is what we really have to focus on because it's yellow!
For me, I swear I think people don't appreciate games that aren't woke, no wonder I am seeing them buy worst games for "contents". There is many reasons but yeah. I think Days Gone is great I may buy it soon but I got a backlog full of games I wanna play.

Recently I started going through the walking Dead telltale series again. One thing that didn't strike me the first time I played it was that the majority of the main characters in that game are not white. And yet I never found myself wishing that they were. That game is still amazing. In fact Lee Everett was written so well that I don't think they could have came up with a better character for the first season. That's just one example of how it has nothing to do with race, and more with the fact that the games that they work on are just complete and utter dog shit

I can't say any of season 1's characters are bad, all are flawed in true ways. I liked season 2 as well, it's season 4 i'm not a huge fan of, maybe because it's more focused around kids.

Here's the thing though. The game devs for the most part are doing what they are told from management as dev studios are controlled by the publishers that own them. Management tell them to do whatever the "marketing" and "sales" people think will make them the most money and what the ISG money propaganda fund wants. And what the ISG wants is for SBI and BGG to "consult" on how the games should be. It's all backwards with the actual people that design and probably play games having no say in the whole process. At that point the talented devs leave and start an indie studio making awesome games while the original studios became an empty shell that can create nothing of value.
The type of adult that would sleep in a racecar bed is the reason gaming is as big as it is. This one statement exemplifies that these people are speaking to an audience that is completely separate from the ones that are the life blood of gaming.
The used to be an expression “Don’t start fights with people that buys ink by the barrel.” It meant that the print press used to be the end all be all of news and there was literally no alternative.
Those days are long gone but these people still think they are the authority.
And the irony of these woke lunatics is that the Hogwarts game had more tokens than British people. I liked the game, but diverse Hogwarts was so weird.
Nah turn it around on them. It's OLD Hogwarts so it's the height of the British Empire. The diverse students are colonials being sent to Hogwarts to become good British people instead of their cultural magic schools. Then watch them start crusading against having POCs in Hogwarts despite claiming to advocate for 'black voices in gaming'. It isn't hard to make the woke say the most racist things, their veil is barely there to begin with.

The last newish game I've purchased is the console port of Trepang 2 - an indie FEAR love letter with nameless, faceless, raceless solders, non-stop balls to the wall action and it's incredible!

There are 2 important things to remember IMO: It's NOT just about SBI - we need to investigate every outside company like Black Girl Gamers to call out and catch everyone involved in this mentality. The second, and more important thing, make them earn your money! Do NOT pre-purchase games! They cannot win if they don't get your money! Don't trust ANY developer or publisher. Wait until the game is out. Wait until it gets reviewed. Don't get surprised like with Dragon's Dogma 2 ever again. There are plenty of games to play! Don't fall to FOMO! If we stick together, they CANNOT WIN!
💯 I now wait at least a week to watch the reviews of gaming UA-camrs I trust. Much likes movies/tv show now.

Create a problem, then sell the solution. It's the same thing game companies have been doing to the players for years, and now that same thing has turned inward, and ruined a lot of products and some studios. Ironic.
Yup my first job, Me and a couple others got canned and a month later the company went bankrupt and shut it's doors. All cause boss man hired his drug and gambling addicted son to take his place as owner and operator.

Comparing game devs to termites is an insult to termites, jungle and forest termites have a migration pattern that prevents them from permanently damaging any part of the forest too much, sweet baby chops the tree down and salts the earth to prevent anything from growing again.

I remember a long time ago Mett Patt over on the Game Theorists UA-cam channel made a theory that the reason there were so many guards with arrows in their knees, was because the doctors in Skyrim were hiring mercenaries to shoot adventurers in the leg so they could drive up business. A bit of a random thought, but eh, whatever.

I work in forestry research and when a tree is infested with Pine Beetle, or Blister Rust, or any other kind of infestation, the only way to keep it from spreading is to cut the tree down and turn it into lumber or woodchips depending on the damage. Then, you plant new trees of the same species which are shown to have a resistance or immunity to the disease.
The Indie scene is on the rise, I'm honestly surprised that more of these devs that are leaving, or getting layed off, haven't gone and formed their own indie studios with all the talent that's been excised. Who cares if you've been banned from the AAA industry when it's insanely easy for people to get into making games in the indie space now. Sure they'll be more limited, but with their experience they could probably put out some bangers anyway.
21:35 Does anyone even look at the Critic score on Metacritic? I mean, when I read reviews for a game I always look at the player reviews because those will usually be the most representative of the experience that I am likely to have.
