Retribution's story is absolute garbage in my opinion (and everything else in the game.)

Oh the game's a mess and I said so. But storywise, I thought the first game was a bunch of pointless tasks for the equally unlikeable May and Casey (I wanted them both dead) and no payoff whatsoever for the Reclaimed/Tower feud. Aside from the Armory, it felt like half a story.
2nd game had proper character motivations with The Tourist driving all the action and the story built around them. I finished the game in spite of the bugs because I wanted to see how it all ended. Contrast with the first game where the story didn't register with me and I just finished because I enjoyed the game mechanics.
Agree to disagree, I guess. lol Thanks for watching.

@@liveopenmike In my opinion the first game characters were a lot better than retribution characters.
May had actual substance by desperately trying to live with her daughter, and hide from the tower.
Casey is a man who was traumatized a lot (He was forced to endure innocent people being offed, trapped in the reserve, and his family was not very nice to him other than his uncle but he died.)
JB was a very convincing leader that spread fear to many, and is also very tough and prausive.
      Retribution Characters:
Echo: Literally all echo is, is a 12 year old stuffy nose boy that has animal ears and somehow is accepted into the reclaimed.
Sable: Her only personality is that she is the leader of the revolution, which she doesn't have any other personality.
Father Carter: I mean he was alright, but there isn't really much he offers other than being a drunk priest.
Barnes: What am I supposed to talk about? She does nothing.
Whistles: One of the only good characters that was actually chill af.
Axeman: He is also an eh character, his motives are simple, his boss fight is simple, and his personality isn't to complicated basically all it is, is that he wants to avenge his family and also hates the tower.
Pawn king: The most DISSAPOINTING character In this game, he was described as a fast talking trade dealing man, instead what we got was a man who was egotistical and practically hated everyone around him, saved himself when the axeman threatened him, you couldn't even trade with him instead you were given fetch quests, etc.

@@sonicthelegend8741 Yeah agree to disagree. Casey's scenes, just standing there listening to him babble and whine over the radio drove me nuts. I would've skipped them if I hadn't been livestreaming the game. re: Garrick - revenge is the easiest story to tell in VR and his actual boss fight doesn't factor into it because I was rating story, not gameplay.
Also, having extended scenes in person with multiple characters instead of all the voiceovers and notes, chapter 2 was just more interesting to me. I actually enjoyed the pawn king's art, including both endings to that plot. I just wish the gameplay had been better.

@@liveopenmike Skydance still promised to make the pawn king a trader and proceeded to fumble in doing that.

@@sonicthelegend8741 Fumbled a lot of things. That game still has invisible zombies and walls.
