Today, I review Porter Cables Cordless 18 Gauge Brad Nailer. ( PCC790 ) I discuss the features and options that are offered on this tool and show it in action.
Flooring and countertop installer here, this tool is one of my favorite purchases.
You will never regret buying this, sturdy, shoots well, saves insane amounts of time.
Do it.
These are getting hard to find btw, and they are twice as expensive as they were in 2019.
Was 100 flat with no battery at Lowe's, now it's online only and about $230.
The only issue I’ve had with mine is that it’s very picky with in the way it’s held.
For example if you need use it over your head for crown or something at a strange angle. It’ll jam.
If I’m using it for base and shoe molding. It’s fine.
Great review but I must disagree about the porter cable warranty. I am also invested in porter cable and I have had to warranty 2 of my tools and I haven’t had any issues at all. I contacted them and explained my issue and they took care of it immediately. No questions asked. They have great customer service.
I’m 0 for 3.
I'm a contractor, some homes don't have power, I have this... it works PERFECTLY
That's awesome
2:59 "You shart and then you're done" ....I was dying dude lol
Great review though, good info. Gonna pick one of these up
Lol
He is either very tired or inebriated!
Just watched your video, and thanks for showing me that it has a trigger lock. Somehow, it had locked itself.
No problem
It's a awesome finish nailer. I do wood flooring for a living and I've done about 15 houses nailing baseboards and quarter rounds and it works like a champ. Just wish it had the battery indicator.
Yes, that's what I've mainly used it for. Works great. I get the occasional jam but it's pretty easy to clear.
Thanks for watching and please subscribe!
Use my for remodeling house neve once had any trouble
Finish nailer? I thought it was a Brad nailer? Can you clarify?
@@ABrown-sn2xx It's a 18 gauge Brad nailer
Just got mine today love it! Thanks for the review
Congratulations
I have several Porter Cable 20 volt lithium tools. I like them a lot. But I can’t find this Brad nailer at Lowe’s, as in 2021, they not carrying the line anymore. On the positive side, all PC stuff was on clearance and I grabbed all the batteries I could for $28 a piece. My drill and driver are my workhorse tools and they perform very well. The only tool that I would give a low score to would be the circular saw as it lacks power, but I do use it. This Brad Nailer is exactly what I would like to have from PC. Good review.
I had the same issue with the circular saw until I replaced the stock blade with a Diablo. Night and Day difference.
I'll need to stop at Lowes and see if I can find anything. I've had zero issue with the batteries. They've been pretty solid.
Thanks for the review. Im about to finish the basement and I really don't want a whole compressor, gun, system (I do actually but the wife don't so, ya know) and I'm glad it works. Also a great point of buying into a system. I have all porter cable tools and it would be hard to switch brands now. They are decent quality tools for the price and how often I use them.
Glad you like it!
Thanks my man, you inadvertently fixed my problem. Cheers!
You’re Welcome
Interesting but my compressors would get lonely so I’ll stick with the tried and true
I don’t miss my big compressor one bit.
Is that the same battery in the circular saw? I've got the duffel bag with 2 drills, light, skill saw with 4 batteries and charger. The battery on the saw is double thick. I love the whole kit and caboodle at a pawn shop for $69. I'm a 57 year old single woman who likes to play around with tools but I don't want to spend a Gob of money on them either. I am remodeling my kitchen, I want to add lattice strips along the edge of my cabinet doors to make them look shaker style and glue is not going to work so they're going to have to be nailed up there and I thought something like this would be perfect and then just putty the intersections and paint them.
Yes it is. Good luck on your project !
Lowe's has it at 40% off until Jan 31st 2020. Then buying the extended warranty is free + some.
Would you send me the link please?
@@mayerlito they're out. It kept trying to charge me for truck delivery. I called them and they said they have no more anywhere in the country to ship. That's a weird way for the app to reject your order. Accept it, but over charge you $70 for shipping!
Nice
Your shirt was flipping me off almost the whole video. lol. Nice nailer though.

Mine is making noise but the nail isn't coming out. It leaves a dent from pulling the trigger but no nail coming out. Do you know what would be causing that?
Mine does the same thing from time to time. There’s a jam in the loader. Open up the access door in the front of the nailer and remove the nail. Then remove the battery to reset the the tool.
Load it up and try again.
Best thing I ever used to make quail cages but now the motor turns and it does t fire. No idea how to fix
check for jams in the front, remove the battery, reload the nails and try it again.
Ya got a new Sub'r. Thx for the straight-up review. Really good job. The only things I got to do now is, look at all of your other vids and get me a nail-gun. I got choke Milwaukee cordless tools but I have been comparing Porter Cable to Milwaukee to Dewalt. I'm a DIY'r so I really don't want to spend megabucks on something I may only use 3 or 4 times a year. Actually, right now the Dewalt is tripping my trigger finger.
No problem.
The only thing I’ve noticed with the gun since I bought it is that it doesn’t like to placed at strange angles. If it does, the mechanism will misfire and jam.
Once I figured that out. It works fine. Not sure if it’s an issue with mine or the design.
What do you think about it now??
Still works well. Doesn’t like to held at weird angles it will jam. Once I learned to avoid that. It works great.
Streeters Garage thanks , in work today my paslode jammed bad ,it's 230 euro to fix ,I have the DeWalt gun but like to have 2 trim guns ,do you think I be better off ordering this or going back to paslode?? Thanks Darren ,by the way hello from Ireland
Can I just put nails in my AR15?
That would be awesome
I bought 2 of these and on both of the the 2 inch nails will not load into the gun. they are stopped by 2 screws that are either to long or to tight. it is not a standard screw so it can't be adjusted by me.....any suggestions?
Screws?
@@StreetersGarage He thought he had a screwdriver Gun..😂😂
Mine is flashing anytime I press it against anything. It's not firing
What I've noticed as I've owned this gun is that it's very temperamental in the positioning the gun is in when its fired. If you're at weird angle the mechanism will jam. Once you clear it and do some test fires it works fine, but go back to that same angle, it'll jam.
@@StreetersGarage I hate the gun. Mine always jams
Has anyone found a good storage case for this nailer and charger?
Nope.
Agree one is needed. I still use the box it came in for storage.
does the dewalt line have the same no support issues as the pc line?
No idea. But there under the same parent company. Stanley Tools.
Can we put staples in it ?
You can not.
No
That is huge compared to the Ryobi model
Yes, it’s the size of framing nailer.
Mine also doesn't fire even without nails in it,just makes the spinning noise and then sounds like it jams, took it apart and I didn't see anything wrong, just doesn't wanna work.
I’ve had the same issue as well. It’s very finicky about the the position it’s held in.
Do you have a repair Vidio
No
its brushless motor ? craftsman or porter cable nailer ?
brushed
💥 It’s 2022. No battery life indicator? Shame on you, Porter Cable.
Yep, but this gun is about 8 years old in the market.
@@StreetersGarage No wonder. That puts it at a 2014 level of technology. Everything has a battery life indicator now. Thanks.
How are you doing maintenance on it when it stops firing
Pull the battery, and then open up the firing mechanism and clear any jams. This will typically correct it.
I’ve used mine only a few times and it quit firing.....no nail jam
Same with mine lol
I had it misfire when I was using the crap HF nails. I swapped them out to the Bostich ones and the problem went away.
Missy
Did you fix it finally . I have the same problem
Great review. Thanks!
Thanks - Glad you liked it!
Get a damn heater in there
Welcome to the Northeast. lol
Safety First! Scratch that, SECOND!
Safety Third!
Looks like it's made by the LEGO™ company...😏
Right! 🤣
