Can I use tritones in thrash I noticed on the e minor pentatonic there are 3 tritones on the 6 th and 12 th fret on the e bass string, also on open e and a sharp on a string. Though not using plectrum using my fingers, developing a technique for up and down strokes. Using guitar rig 6 Rammstein preset, with metal super strat washburn x40.

Hey Jason, I'm loving the learning from you bro', I must say that I personally picked up on a 'Kill em All" vibe at the start of this one, I may be alone on this, but I was playing really slow at first and found myself hearing the patterns to a lot of old school thrash... Guess you can't hide inspiration and who wants to, personally I find that it only takes a slight variation in cadence's, perhaps key too! Damn I am so glad I found your channel mate, I've been practicing at least three times a day, hour and a half a piece, dude you've answered all the greenhorn questions I'd have been to proud to ask when I was younger, something to be said for being older man, I'm learning in proportion to the amount of effort I put in, which I didn't achieve when I was a youngin'... Cheers again mate.
You nailed it with the effort comment, dude! At the end of the day, it's all about how much we put in! Even though I've played consistently over the years, I wasted most of my 20s so I can relate. I certainly could have taken music more seriously back then. Making up for all of that now x10 (and have been for quite some time...I'm an older dude now!)
Good stuff. This is exactly the kind of exercises I need. What drives me is the desire to play metal/thrash-metal/etc and this is the perfect type of exercise to keep me interested cuz I’m learning what I want to learn (unlike practicing open triads and strumming 😩).

Love your riffs Mr clean
🤘
Love your style of teaching,
Thanks Jason,!!!!
🤘 🙏
This is great! I learned that first thing off and experimented on it for like half an hour. I grew up a punk so the fast strumming and power chords are never a big deal, but those thrash riffs are taking me to a whole new level of guitarist. Thanks brotherman. I love your videos
Dude you're welcome! Glad you liked this one! Yeah, thrash riffs are a different world!
Hey Jason just subscribed, I am a metal player and have been looking for some great tutorials that actually break them down like you do, I think I found it, killer man, thanks🤘
Thank you for the sub! 🙏 🤘

I want to start learning metal guitar and you seem like a cool dude plus your riffs sound like fun! Cheers
I'm glad you like the riffs!! I have a couple of things for you to check out that will help you:
Make sure you download my free practice guide (with tabs): ua-cam.com/video/JCoiJB3PpE0/v-deo.html
Dude there’s no right or wrong way. Try different things and see what comes out. It has to sound good to you at the end of the day
Thanks, this is awesome and just what I needed. Subbed
Dude, thank you for the sub! Also, be sure to get my free practice guide that I give to all my subs here: www.jasonstallworth.com/guitarist/

Thank you and glad to hear this helps!! Also, make sure you have my metal practice guide here: www.jasonstallworth.com/guitarist/
Hell yes man!! Thank you so much again!! I’ll download that and be practicing my ass off!
Thank u br I there I have been jamming since I was 18 and I sucked but u make it look so easy I'm Glenn fight stage 2 cancer doing my best not asking for any thing just thank u bro God bless
I appreciate that brother and I pray for a full recovery for you. 🤘
Thanks so much for your content Jason! Giving me hope for actually getting to a proficient playing level.
You're welcome and glad this helped.
I also have a guitar course, Metal Riff Master if you're interested: www.jasonstallworth.com/courses/
Good stuff. This is exactly the kind of exercises I need. What drives me is the desire to play metal/thrash-metal/etc and this is the perfect type of exercise to keep me interested cuz I’m learning what I want to learn (unlike practicing open triads and strumming 😩).
Awesome and glad this helped. Also, if you don’t have it already, be sure to get my free practice guide that I give to all my subs here: www.jasonstallworth.com/guitarist/
@@jasonstallworth Cool. Just signed up for the free guide. Thanks!
I've been looking for something to practice going from riff to chords. Thank you.

This lesson is helping me not only with palm mutting and alternate picking, but also with the act of picking itself which is something I wasn't doing in the best way. Really good practice and super well explained! Plus, it sounds pretty awesome! hahaha Thanks a bunch!
Awesome to hear that and thanks for the comment.
