How thick of a wall can this read through? Wouldn't we want a stud finder that could pick up plastic and metal pipes too? Maybe this will also detect the plastic and metal pipes? Or is there another tool we should have for doing that? For example when working in bathrooms and kitchens. Does it come with a nice case and/or don't you recommend a case for it ? Are they available cheapest on Amazon? Thanks

I’m afraid it’s not that good. It won’t be able to ‘see through’ the wood subfloor. I feel your paint. I hate floor squeaks.
