125USD…kudos to Hoka for keeping it at the same price. I’d probably get an older Novablast or an early colorway of the Hoka Clifton 9 though, just because they would last longer than any Rincon.
Pretty weak review. All stats. Almost nothing about how the shoe rides, how it feels, especially in comparison, whether or not the upgrade is worthy, what are the drawbacks.
It´s a total change compared to v3. I think they could have kept similar structure with new upper and maybe more rubber. I used v1 and v3, pretty happy with them. And the durability was quite surprising, almost 900km. About to retire my v3.
Completely different shoe from the 3, which is very disappointing, love the 3. Had to go up half a size, it rides like a narrow clifton 9. I'll be sending it back and looking for more v3's.
I've used all three iterations of the Rincon for 600km each, and I'm 191cm (6'3) and 85kg (187lbs) so not exactly little. I legit don't get why people care about the cosmetic condition of the outsolew of their shoes. Who actually cares? I run most of my mileage on paths and trails, and the outsoles have been absolutely sweet. As for the midsole, I've never particularly noticed the deadening of the foam that so many people talk about. That said, I have never gotten on with the Clifton series; maybe it's not them, it's me?
Totally agree, I've put 900km on my Rincon 2s and the same on Rincon 3s (and still going). The wearing on the Rincon 2s was a little more noticeable than on the 3s, but in neither case was it particularly bad and nor did it affect the ride at all. Much prefer the Rincons to the one Clifton I've worn - lighter, bouncier, better fit, softer.
I’ve owned them when Inwas lighter (67kg) and now after adding 13kg of swim muscle but with better run technique. Love them. Foam bottoms out though mostly in the rear after a few hundred km.
Have you guys heard anything about when the Bondi 9 will release? I have looked everywhere and can't find anything. I would think soon, since the Bondi 8 has been out for over 2 years now.
Propel V5 for 120$ seems like a better shoe. Maybe a cheap entry level shoe round-up? I feel there are are lot of great shoes this year at the lower end of the price spectrum.
Gave the last 2 versions a chance but the midsole died out on me less than 100 miles in and no longer felt good to run in. For $125 it's a bargain if you're a casual runner but if I end up having to get a new pair every 100 miles then it gets pricey and not worth it. Will wait for long term reviews before considering.
Yeah, gonna just monitor if the viewer comments go the other direction over the next generation or two. They might as well discontinue the model though, I don’t understand why they still exist.
I am a bit surprised with this review. When Rincon first came out, I really enjoyed this shoes (whether or not it was considered a basic pair of running shoes). Surprisingly I enjoyed both version 1 and 2 over Hoka Mach 5. I am probably in the minority. This assessment for me was due to the fact that I thought Rincon was a bit softer than Mach 5 (although both have the firm spring action off the midsole). I agree that with both version 1 and 2 of Rincon, the durability was an issue (such as the midsole getting flat). But for a runner that runs no more than 10 miles for a long run, I thought it handled well - light, easy on the legs and fast. For the price, I was able to compromise on the durability. At any rate, my question is how does this Rincon (v4) fare against Saucony Kinvara 15 for you - both are light, price point is very similar. I have been very surprised with how much I am enjoying running in Kinvara 14. So, should I upgrade to Kinvara 15 (instead of checking out Rincon v4)? My longest runs are no more than 10 miles. Thanks.
Go 90 miles in the 3’s then they just died. It was like a flat tire. Never experienced that before then it kept happening with Hoka shoes. 🤷♂️ I know I know…someone will comment they took their pair to 52,000 miles a month and lit them on fire and they survived a nuclear reactor….we get it you ❤ Hoka
Yeah, ultimately I would get the Mach over this as the price difference isn’t substantial. If this was $110, I could make the argument to get this as a daily trainer instead but the Mach upper and midsole definitely feel better for not much more $$$. Thanks for watching! -Karl
I have had rincon 3 for 2 years now love them. Just ordered and got the rincon 4. They are very different. Very unhappy, i am getting almost immediate toe numbness in both feet with them on- the towbox seems a lot tighter height wise and my toe is pushing hard into the top of the toe box. Bought them online looking to return them asap. These are nothing like the Rincon 3 and tbh i hate the rincon 4- just doesnt feel right anymore- Hoka have fucked up with this design.
It was pretty devious of Hoka to release shoes that flattens after 100mi, especially when it’s a common knowledge that reviewers don’t take shoes past 50mi.
So they ruined such lightweight shoe... There is nothing special in new version, it is not even look good like rincon 3, just standard looking shoe very generic. It does not make any sense to buy it if mach 6 weights almost the same.
@@Believeintherun false. Listen to your audio..Be professional. Insert quality control. I'm just pointing out that instead of just getting normal speaking, we're forced to listen to slurping, lip smacking and other slobber that should really be edited out. Great content but quality control is non existent. Listen to Seth, Kofuzi, Emily, Ginger runner and other shoe tubers. You want hear excess slobber into the mics. We use to tell people the rincon was a dollar a mile. At least at the store
Lol love the honesty
I loved the rincons, but I bought like 15 pairs, 100 miles and they were done!
This is hilarious
I Tool my V3 up to 450miles and they felt really good until 250
I got 350-400 miles on both my pairs of Rincon 3s. Loved that shoe and am more bummed about weight increase and potential fit issues in the 4.

Good morning. Interesting description. I had the rincon v2. Rincon V4= Without ambition. Like to Robbe and Karl. Happy friday.
Happy to see you making honest reviews, also if it's not that convincing!

Same, I ran marathons on the rincon 3 and went well over 1k km. Served me well.
Not sure about this review tho

Got 300 miles on at least 5 pairs on the rincon 3. One of my favorite shoes. Run long runs and tempos in them.
So about 60 miles per pair? 😂 😉

February, the parent company announced it on their latest conference call
Can you guys review Hoka Skyflow?
not rly feeling KORRALL's shoe reviews but hey the Rincon is back.
I would choose the Adizero SL2 for $5 more. With durability, that shoe is a great value.

@@jeffe.3453 100 miles / 160km sounds way too unrealistic. Replacing shoes at these numbers sounds spoiled and wasteful.

Fuck hoka 🤣
Looks more like an update to the Cavu...which lasted one version.
In running in this shoe I found it’s great for every day running, but touching on anything tempo or faster the shoe just really can’t handle
A good walking shoe?
Looks like it could be a good shoe Definitely a pass for me but something I could recommend to other runners I know
Spare your credibility and don’t recommend Rincon 😂
Just go with the Puma Liberate Nitro 2's ❤
The Mach is easily a daily shoe aswell.

Hokas never seem to fit me quite right. Always a bit too narrow. The only one I had success with was waaaaaaaay back in the Bondi 4.
Think they look the worst out of all rincon versions . Think the 3 is much better looking than 4

rincon 1 lasted 350km
rincon 3 lasted 200km
will pass on this one
EVA 😒👎
Too many loud creepy lip smacks. Very weird
Not nearly as weird as you commenting on it, whatever you're talking about

I thought the NB Balos was an ugly shoe. This might be one of the most basic plain boring looking shoes I’ve ever seen from Hoka
