I cant take credit for this but i just watched a video on a guy making his own top ramen powder with dried vegetables and a blender and i cant wait to use it on the trail i hope this info brings you joy as you brought me much joy over many videos
like it!
Wow, your recipes look great...so glad that I found you!!! I am new to backpacking and have not been thrilled with the packaged dehydrated meals. I bought a food dehydrator about 6 months ago in the hope of having better meals on the trail. One easy way that you could have cut down on your food weight and bulk would have been to have dehydrated your fresh fruits and veggies. So easy and convenient and I never waste or throw away unused produce anymore. I now keep dehydrated peppers, green onions, lemons, limes, oranges, apples, pineapples, peaches, strawberries on hand for snacking and cooking at home. If you don't have access to fresh produce, you can dehydrate frozen fruits and veggies as well. Thank you for creating this channel!
cheers! Great to have you along!
this is the second video I have seen with the grain pizza recipe. I am definitely adding it to my first backpacking trip next month, and will also add it to my trip to the Centennial trail in South Dakota in May! Thank you!
It's a very tasty one and customizable to your favorite pizza!
Utterly brilliant. So inspiring.
cheers Lisa!
Awesome ideas!
I am so glad that I came across your channel! I mostly eat plant based so it’s nice to know that the fresh veggies can hold up so well. What size pack are you using for your trips? Love the videos, the recipes and the adventures. Until I can get out west I’ll live vicariously through your travels!
Cheers Alycia! I use a 65L for longer trips and a 50-55 for shorter
Another interesting video
Epic brand bacon bits are another awesome protein that I recently discovered. Cubed to perfect size and very lightweight
Food looks good!
Nice video, some more great recipe ideas. On to part 3. I was planning on powdered eggs for breakfast burritos. Have you tried fresh yet eggs? Other cultures do not refrigerate their eggs. Also, farm eggs are weeks fresher than store bleached eggs.
totally agree. I have used fresh eggs and if I'm taking, I crack before, mix and put in an old soda bottle. I usually eat on day 1 or 2.
@@ChefCorso great idea.
Chef Corzo. I’ve spent years telling people to ditch the rip away pre made meals.
Cooking outdoors is a privilege and an utter joy.
Can be cheaper than buying throw away meals and TOU GET TO CONTROL THE FLAVOUR AND NUTRIENTS!
Sir. I love your channel. Thank you for existing. If you head to the UK. hit me up and let’s get our gourmet on!!!
agree and cheers! Will definitely hit you up once I begin traveling internationally again.
@@ChefCorso I’ll provide all that you need.
You sort your flights or your ship and I’ll take care of everything else.
Staaap the chopsticks yesss
I like your style. If you have a fire going, why use the stove & associated fuel?
Cheers Russ! sometimes it's just easier based on the recipe
Great to see the possibilities even straight from a grocery store near the trail head. Also, I like the idea of making a double batch on the trail and not having to cook for a meal on a subsequent day. Well done! What kind of lighter is that? Seems better than the cheap Bic lighters I bring. Any upsides or downsides to it?
Cheers Matt! Check out the lighter here: montyboca.com/shop-old/suggested-equipment/
It's amazing. Totally worth it, refillable, won't blow out, fuel lasts a long time and you never have to fight with a Bic with cold wet hands ever again!
I totally know what you mean about mashed potatoes getting old really quick... I'm turning 51 this year and I am thinking I might only be able to eat them for another 10-20 years tops. seriously though, you go all out and make it seems to simple and easy! love it. Hope to take my food up a notch or two with some of your tips!
Cheers Scott! It can be easy and so worth it. Just a few pantry ingredients, plus some packable protein, spice mixes and something fresh.
I am so skeptical!
I believe in your Ralph! Lots of great, easy packing options.
