Love watching your videos!! I love to cook and to camp and really Love amping up My meals while out. Looking forward to taking this info with Me on My AT hike in 2024.
Hello Chef Corso, Canadian subscriber here. Headed out tomorrow for 2 nights in Algonquin Park with my pup. You have inspired me to buy fresh and cook with my canister stoves and pots. Thanks!!
Did West Coast Trail 8 days 7 nights,... enjoyed non packaged meals more. Wish I had your tips before going. Would have had better ideas of what to do with extra corn nuts...... next big trip is kayaking 2 nights 3 days. I can bring heavier food, very excited
I’m planning to go to Isle Royale NP for 6 nights and 7 days. My 2nd backpacking trip and the same place, different part of the island and adding 4 more days !
Going to watch this whole series for meal ideas. I am heading on a week long paddle trip on the Allagash River in Maine in June. I’d love to limit dehydrated meals.
Thank you SO MUCH! I love your videos, your energy, philosophy on hiking, cooking, and health : ) I'm just starting out as a backpacker and your videos and great ideas are soooo helpful, encouraging and inspiring. Thank you again! Great work!
These are awesome! Planning a boundary waters trip for summer and planning it with someone who needs a low sodium diet (makes packaged meals hard) and someone else who doesn't like oatmeal and can't have seeds or nuts (kinda takes to oatmeal option off the table) so you've been super helpful!
Perfect, just what I've been looking for!! I did a 6 day wild camp this year as well as last year, but ended up with a way to heavy pack both times, as most of the stuff that I brought was canned food. It can taste nice... but since it has to be conserved in water, oil or sauce, it's just too heavy for a full week. And I couldn't do a freeze dried. Happy to try out your recipes!!
Hey Chef, Love your concept, good on you! food is so important. I'd be curious if you would be interested in a similar pursuit to help those of us that are vegetarians that hope to make nice meals in the back country, that are light weight-ish, and nutrient dense. Happy Trails
Hey DP! I welcome you to check out some of our other videos as well as our recipe bank. We have a lot of veg/vegan/plant based options for you to cook up. Additionally, stay tuned next week as we have something that I think you'll like. Cheers!
Love your recipes, ideas and videos. The only thing I don't get is the 700ml size pot. It's not big enough and you admit it. Why not carry a 900 wide bottom pot? Much better to cook in and then you won't need to make dinner twice. A 200 ml difference in your pack is nothing compared to all the fresh food you packed. Seems like an inconsistency. If the food is worth packing, so isn't the right pot to cook it in?
Hey Jb. Good Q but this trip was all about testing if you could cook in a very small capacity pot. And the answer is, you can, it's just not ideal. Sometimes you have to commit to the test to get full results. In the future for a trip like this, I'll probably take something slightly larger.

Cheers from the sunny (south) side of the Alps.

I spend a day packing, sorting and labeling for a trip like that. I'm sure I'll learn something from this laissez-faire approach. Thanks!
It was fun new challenge with this meal plan. The PDF and checklists definitely helped trim down the packing time.
how is this laissez-faire? its planned!
I love it! Thanks for the tips! Next up for you is to create custom menus for dif trails.
Good idea. We currently offer full trip meal plans for 1/2/3 night trips. Check them out on our website!
Super informative video, cheers👍!
Awesome suggestions to eat well on the trail. Especially as this article has gained attention.
Glad it was helpful!
Don’t know if you mentioned it but how many fuel canisters did you bring along for your stove?
for this trip, 1-8 oz. but every trip is different based on what you're cooking, elevation, how much coffee/tea you drink, etc
Love your videos. Do you take recipe suggestions? All the best!
cheers ED! yes of course. What are ya thinkin?

How could anyone not fuck with this? Corso for Govenor! Or, at least the mayor of Flavortown.

Hey. awesome video. Where are you getting the maps?
Cheers Yaniv! For this trip, I used the GAIA app as well as a National Geographic map I purchased off amazon.
@@ChefCorso Thanks so much. I did find them on amazon, just wanted to see if the park rangers have them
Not sure if you have tried it or not but bacon jerkey.
yea! solid option to pack along
@@ChefCorso haven't watched all your episodes so I don't know if you have done it. Minute rice+scrambled egg+bacon. Add seasoning as desired.
@@bergen10161985 yep! nice combo. I also put together this sweet and savory combo as well. enjoy! ua-cam.com/video/oaXly9n-GHk/v-deo.html
Looks good. I'll give it shot come spring time.
Were do you find hard maps? I haven't seen them in 20 years
Hey Keith! REI/Outdoor Stores/or online
In a shop?
gas stations. camping stores. AMA....
People that bring a bunch of clothes and change every day or couple of days baffle me.
