Student goals to get them to motivated on their own work & quick checks
Immediate Feedback is so important but challenging for me based on time
I used more modeling in early childhood before teaching 4th-6th. So definitely need to get back to modeling
I used the organizer where a paragraph was set up & then moved on to show how the same steps were used to write the introduction, body paragraphs & ending for a 5 paragraph essay
They get really excited to get “picked” and we focus on what positive writing techniques they used
I pick 3 pieces to showcase each day in kdg
I like the dos & don'ts
Figuring out the time line will be key. Making it into smaller chunks. I have done this somewhat but needs to be more frequent and consistent.
I've been doing this for five years. I have inclusion classrooms and this makes sense for them.

They struggle with even the structure of what a paragraph should look like (4th). They had no real writing instruction previously-due to lack of time
I’m going to carve 30 min a day to writing
Was it 30-45 minutes…how many times per week?

Elaborating does seem to be where the students get bogged down so hopefully the modeling will help them improve
We use Google classroom… wondering if using Google docs and comments will help students
I do this. The comments are quick and easy
I've used graphic organizers for only the lowest students

I only teach writing. I need to be more mindful of using texts that reading uses
Didn't always take the time to model the graphic organizer

Not trying to do it all. Break down skills & spend more time to teach the skill in small steps & let students add it to their writing
So behind & don't want to make any changes
