Can you explain everyone’s obsession with “7 Summers?” Of all the “sad songs” on this double album, it’s far and away one of the worst in almost every aspect, in my opinion.
I actually really liked silverado for sale because I feel like it ties in the theme from sand in my boots. I kind of shows that he has moved on a couple of years down the road and found this girl and they want to marry each other so he sells his Silverado, (the "sunburned silverado") so he can buy her a ring.

I’m 18 years old and I totally see where everyone is coming from with the “double albums are too much” viewpoint. Completely understand that. I for one love 30 songs just because I consume music at such a fast rate. I feel like you could’ve made a fantastic 15-16 song record here but I like how Morgan went for it here. It’s his “I’m here to stay” moment. Great review

I honestly think the chorus to “More Surprised Than Me” is one of Morgan Wallens best sounding choruses. Not huge on the verses but the chorus blows me away
I can’t believe Your Bartender wasn’t mentioned! It’s so heartfelt and more of that longing for someone, it’s probably my favorite with Sand In My Boots

Wonderin' About The Wind, is so far my favorite song because of the instruments alone. Catchy as hell too. "Always takes her with it, and brings her back now and then." Can't get enough of your videos man, keep on keeping on.
I’m sorry but if so many people can say that basically every single song off this album that doesn’t get radio play is extremely underrated…this ENTIRE album is another level amazing! The only double album I can keep on repeat over and over and still a year later not tired of any of it! Still so good every time you hear his voice on any of these songs. Also I saw him live on the Dangerous tour and it was by far the BEST live show I’ve ever seen and think ever will. I seriously don’t know how anyone will too that concert.

One of my favorite vocal moments on the album is when Morgan and Chris Stapleton sing, “Bartender pour me one more”. The harmony is solid and it’s a great hook.
Glad he mentioned ERNEST! He has been a writer on so many of everyone's favorite songs.. He had 11 co-writes on this album alone. Such a talented writer
There’s a lot of good songs and a lot of bad songs. When he does his heartfelt stuff (7 summers, somebodies problem, sand in my boots) is where he really shines but the repetitive songs about boots, beer, truck, rinse and repeat make it seem hollow. Obviously the light hearted fun songs are for that purpose but you can tell that he could bring back that main stream storyteller country of the 90’s and early 00’s

Morgan did a great job with cliche songs because we need them but his voice is so good that it makes them worth it. Morgan is not Chris, if everyone was the why would Chris be special..
One of my favorite things about this album is that it has songs for all occasions, high energy songs to get the good times rolling, or make you feel better, and sad songs for when your heart hurts
If Chris Stapleton would’ve had more of a moment on “Only Thing That’s Gone” I think it would’ve been a better song. But, I’ve noticed that whenever Chris does collaborate with artists he tries not to “overstep” I guess you could say. It’s like he wanted Morgan to have his moment and not crush him vocally. I think it’s a great song it’s just needs a little more from Chris. Love this album and the review!

I love this song. It's kind of ridiculous but I love it. I love the line "pardon my french, mama if you're listenin'" especially after watching the interview Grady did with Morgan last year. The boy loves his mama. ❤
The thing about comments like “he’s a sad boy” is that most of these dudes don’t write even 20% of their material. When Isbell writes songs about despair you know that’s coming from his heart. When Morgan sings a song about missing a girl it’s because him and 2 other dudes wrote a country hit about missing summer and drinking six packs by the river. Quite literally that happened.
@@teeman8999 I like some of his music, for sure. New country isn’t my favourite by a long shot, but I listen to some, maybe even lots of it at times. But it’s hard to get into it when I don’t have much respect for their process or their credibility. I listen to it because it’s fun and has catchy melodies, not because I think they’re great lyricists who are pushing boundaries. I wouldn’t ever call him a “bad boy” haha. Anyways. Not a big deal. It wasn’t even directed at Grady, I love his videos no matter what, very well made.
I personally understand that he’s sad, but I appreciate his music because it’s real and people can actually relate to it. It’s better than a Sam hunt or Thomas Rhett record
I think the whole label should listen to Morgan and the crowd and make an entire acoustic version of the album because it'll not only sound good but draw in that pure country sound and crowd that doesn't want all that production beats and snap track vibe
Wasted on you is by far my favorite which is very cliche especially when it shot its way up to his top song. Neon eyes, Your bartender, warning, and still going down are my next picks
FYI-Dangerous is #1 For the sixth consecutive week in the billboard top 200 out of all music, not just country 👌 you underestimate Morgan. he breaking records out there!! We love Morgan!!! OH!! I really resonated with “Rednecks Red letters Red Dirt” I recently just moved to a much more urban area and don’t have anything really familiar to my upbringing. Always nice to return home and the slow and quiet
Pretty much agree with this review. The second disc isn’t my style, but the more I listen to the first disc the more I like it. I would listen to an acoustic album from him alllll day every day, the producers cover up so much of his talent.
865 is written by John Byron, who actually had an album come out a few years ago. It didn’t do well but there are some good songs on it. Its called “across that line”. He writes songs now, and you’ll probably see more of him in the future.
My girlfriend of 1 1/2 years left me cold turkey like two weeks before this dropped and I couldn't think of a better time personally for this album. EVERY song hits a bullseye in my heart and I can relate to just about every song. 10/10 this is about to become album of the year.
Funny how, if we add up everyone's fav song on the double album commented here; it would be more than a single-length album, yet it's criticized for being a double. I say treat it as two albums of the length bothers you.
I really loved Sand In My Boots, Whiskey’d My Way, and Quitin’ Time. But my biggest surprise and guilty pleasure from the whole album was Dangerous. Idk I just love the sound of the chorus and his voice in it.
I love Silverado For Sale, because that's actually my story! Livin' The Dream is a close tie and I honestly feel is super underrated. I love when an artist reminds us that they're human and that the grass is NOT always greener.
To be honest I’m struggling to like newer mainstream country, Morgan had an absolute hit with the collab with Chris, but the more pop sounding songs ain’t doing it for me, a lot are similar sounding too. Not saying Morgan is bad at all but I feel like country is in a limbo. It doesn’t know what it wants to be. I’m not a super traditionalist but I can’t really connect with the genre as much now.
Absolutely love the grit of Morgan’s voice, and your descriptions are so well informed and thought out. Loved this video and am excited to give this album a deep listen.

Tell me “now I’m dodging potholes in a sunburnt Silverado, like a heart broke desperado” doesn’t have HARDY written all over it.
Maybe they just mean bad boy in the Nashville music. I guess compared to Luke Bryan and FGL he would be anyway.
The acoustic version of Wasted on You is top tier for me, and of course Cover Me Up is a longtime fave. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for Morgan!
Never clicked faster
I think this is the best country album released in years. Morgan has such an unusual voice and great way of delivering songs.
I saw him in 2019 and he was the opening act for FGL.., and now he’s popular enough to possibly have more people show up to his concert lol
I think the whole label should listen to Morgan and the crowd and make an entire acoustic version of the album because it'll not only sound good but draw in that pure country sound and crowd that doesn't want all that production beats and snap track vibe
damn that acoustic version is even better! Also i find Morgan Wallen singing Luke Combs' Cold As Beer in Beer Dont.
“Wonderin Bout The Wind” reminds me of a Garth album track that I’d be obsessed with. It’s def my fav!
OH!! He’s the top artist of 2021 right now and the radio stations aren’t even playing him!!! Think about that 👌👌❤️❤️❤️ Love you Morgan!! Great album!! He rocks!!!
About to be the *eighth
I think it would have been interesting to have a song or two about his experience as a new father
I really resonated with “Rednecks Red letters Red Dirt” I recently just moved to a much more urban area and don’t have anything really familiar to my upbringing. Always nice to return home and the slow and quiet
Silverado for Sale struck a cord in my heart. My personal favorite but probably not the best.
Pretty much agree with this review. The second disc isn’t my style, but the more I listen to the first disc the more I like it. I would listen to an acoustic album from him alllll day every day, the producers cover up so much of his talent.
As good as “Sand in my Boots” is and I think it’s the best song on the album, I can’t help but think about Kenny Chesney’s “Anything but Mine”
I thought the EXACT thing that “now im dodging potholes” sounds identical to “in the morning im leavin” and ill never unhear it
Me tooooo
865 is written by John Byron, who actually had an album come out a few years ago. It didn’t do well but there are some good songs on it. Its called “across that line”. He writes songs now, and you’ll probably see more of him in the future.
Surprising sadness? Maybe he's just still pining for the mannequin in the Chasin' You video.
Idk I just love the sound of the chorus and his voice in it.
i love quitin’ time! def underrated, but you can tell it’s writin by eric church because if sounds like his type of music
Still going down is my favorite I got hurt when he said it was his least favorite
morgan is the only person i’d take hours for to listen to his full double album
Wasted On You is so groovy. I love it. Well, I love almost every other song, too, haha.
Also, he has 9 songs in just the top 40 right now! 🤩🔥
Havent seen one person talk about Cover Me Up! Awesome song with an awesome story behind it.
I love the double album! He did really good
I love Silverado For Sale, because that's actually my story!
