Good job and quick picking! I hate ovals and can’t seem to get them to open for me… so I’ve gutted them all and will be making CLs out of them. Life has been so hectic last few months but hoping to get back to them soon. Thanks and Take Care ⭐️
Thanks 😊.. A hatred of TESA cylinders ... I can totally relate to that 😆... those tapered pins just make picking so inconsistent. Cheers for watching 👍 🍻
Thanks 😊.. This TE5 kinda became my nemesis.. I even bent my Peterson hook 7 on this one.. It really is hit or miss whether I get a fairly quick open or fail to get an open for bloody ages.. I think it needs just the right amount of tension and those tapered pins I find really tricky to set. Cheers bud 👍 🍻
You're welcome.. This lock had been such a hassle I just had to gut it and see for myself what was in it 😆. A friend printed out the front loader for me. It's a design from Nikolai Langer free on pinshape.. I'm still procrastinating over getting a 3D printer, myself.. I'll maybe treat myself to one towards the end of the year with a bit of luck 🤞 Cheers 👍 🍻
Everything about this lock is horrible 😆 Although I got the open quite quickly here ... I'll admit there were quite a few takes before this and many attempts before those.. 😆 Cheers for watching 👍 🍻
i went to a locksmith to ask for some old locks they wanted to get rid of. he gave me all locks that seem impossible to pick and he said this tesa assa abloy te5 was the easiest one of the locks he gave me . did he give me expert locks or what?
The TESA TE5 is definitely not easy, well not for me anyway, it has tapered pins so it's difficult to tell when a pin is set properly. The driver pins will have a tendency to underset so it can take a good while just going back and forth nudging them to the shearline. @LockNoob has a good video on them, check out his video (522) I wish I had a locksmith like that near me and damn am I curious as to what other locks he's given you if the TE5 is the easiest 🤔😆 It's good to have a "naughty bucket" of locks that are higher than your current skill level. Keep picking & practising on other locks and every now and again give the difficult ones a try you will eventually get the opens and it will feel great. Avoid going at the difficult ones relentlessly as it may become frustrating and disheartening. Above all have fun Check out forums like reddit r/lockpicking for advice and have a look at the belt ranking system to give you an idea of certain locks difficulty. There are also discord lockpicking forums and plenty of Facebook groups. Picking Time on UA-cam is also a great hangout on a Sunday for pickers of all skill levels. ua-cam.com/video/lsw-JGMFIdY/v-deo.html I hope this has been of some use to you Happy picking Cheers bud 👍🍻
