These Tesa TE5 locks by Assa Abloy are tricky beasts for sure! Great fun learning them however! Thanks again to Tallan Pick for these excellent locks :-)
Great double picking on those te5! you know they are one of my favorite locks. I´m very happy that you have fun with them ;o)) Thank you for your kind words about me my friend, is much appreciated, and thanks for showing ;o)))
Thank you for sending them to me. When you first sent your first package to me, I couldn’t imagine being able to pick the TE5 or T60, so thank you for the challenge :-)
Hi Lock Noob, We get these Tesa locks in Australia, sold as Gainsborough. Good tolerances, light springs - easier to overset - bevelled pins, and key pins with the single groove. Under lightish tension, the key pin will overset and catch in the groove at the shearline. I see your cylinders also have the "mysterious" wider pin spacing between pin chambers 3 and 4. We have a theory as to why, as yet unconfirmed, maybe it will remain a mystery? ..... Regards, Brian. P.S. (MACS?)
Yes Gainsborough/Tesa have been sold in Australia for many a long year, same keyway and notch at the key tip. The odd thing is the different spacing only between the 3rd and 4th pin chamber - you can see this by looking at the top of the Euro cylinders. As I said we have a theory - as yet not confirmed, if anybody knows why the factory does this, please let me know! Regards, Brian.
Great job there LN. I have a few Tesa euro profile padlocks, which takes the 30/30 cut in half brass one. Really want to upgrade my padlocks from the TE2 profile to a Tesa t60 dimple euro. Will make them a much more secure padlocks
@@LockNoob cheers LN ✌😊 I'd really like to get the T70 but can't find it in a 30/30 version. Would the T60 still be a good candidate to replace the TE2 pin tumbler?
as a beginner i just went to the locksmith to ask if they had old locks i could practice on and he gave me a bucket and they are all so hard . there is this one and also some really old parisien ones
Are Assa Abloy just cornering the market. I saw a union brand euro yesterday that had Assa Abloy on the reverse of the key with Union on the front?! Anyway, I digress, cool lock and nice job. I honestly thought you changed your mind and said your were only picking the one... I need more sleep...
Nice pic and gut noobster. I've got to get my mits on one of those European locks and try my hand at it. Ty for another great video. And I wish you and yours a very blessed Christmas and a happy new year
timbober1 I can pick both ways but prefer pins up. It’s a myth that they are always installed in Europe pins down, though it IS more common. I see a lot of doors in commercial properties with Euro profile locks in multiple orientations, including sideways :-)
i spent an hour on this and failed, it is my first day tho, i dont know why i cant pick it, is there a different method to it than picking the practice transparent padlock?
What is the purpose of a serated key pin(or any other security key pin)??? they are allways under the shearline when the lock is upside down, so when we push pin and we set it, we stop with pushing bcs with or without that seration, if we still push, it will overset. If u can understand anything 😅

What application or these locks used in? Doors Filing cabinets ect? I've seen and picked countless times but not really sure what there for
wbap hellcat we see them a lot in screen security doors (particularly in Australia)
That vice held on for shear life I tell you, it's a miracle it held the locks
Lol

Until this vid, I’d never heard of Gainsborough, now I’m realky curious! :-)

T60 is susceptible to bumping i here :-)

Beautiful locks! Love Tallans channel !!!
Very happy the alarming “Out of Memory” message was on your end and not mine my friend !!
Yeah, I’ve not run out of memory while filming before! I had to deleted a load of files with one hand while keeping the tension on the lock! :-)
Well done on evil evil. Lol. No Tesa here but apparently our Gainsborough is the same lock brand here. TBC though. Lol
Interesting. Now I gotta have one! :-)
nicely done, you did a good job with the type of pins that are in there.
Thanks :-)
Yet again, nice picking Lock Noob.
I totally agree those key pins are really nice.
Thank you :-)
Nice picking!!!
Thank you for sharing those great locks!!!😀
Thanks :-)
Fantastic picking on both those Tesa euro’s, they are really tricky locks like you say, great video.
Thanks Daz :-)

Between Assa, Yale, Ingersoll Rand and Master Lock, that’s a Ginormous market share :-) £££

Thank You Lock Noob
Thanks :-)
Hi Noob, great job, nice lockpicking. The Te5 is hard. :)
Thanks :-)
Exelent pick very nicely done
Thanks :-)
Great picking looks like you used a lot of tension is that the best way with these ?
I’m always a bit tension heavy :-)
As always like your video!
Thanks :-)
I’ve noticed at times you pick euro locks upside down (USA style) and others you pick pins down. No shade just curious. (:

What is the item that you put in to take the pins out with - did you make it yourself
It’s a front loader and a gift from Redcatimaging :-)
@@LockNoob thanks

They are designed to fail to spring back up if they are over set 😃👍
@@LockNoob Oh that is the point. Ill try to not overset them anyway. Thanks a lot on everything i learned from you.
Wow where did you get that euro lock disassembly kit?
It’s a HUK Lock disassembly kit. You should be able to find them on Bangood, dhgate etc. :-)
