Yeah, i had a professor in college who invented something. Dont remember what it was. but the process of selling it was suuuuuuper difficult for him. That was 5 years ago and I still don't know if he has sold it yet.
Us North americains love our cars too much. Our cities should be designed with these new slower smaller electric options. Redesign our cities for them. Cut our emissions by tons. People will use it once you build the infrustructure. And most families could move from 2 vehicles to a 1 vehicle and 1 smaller electric bike
This is my dream car. I wish that there were separate roads for bikes or mopeds tho. I think that would be so much safer for everyone. It would also be a lot better for the environment!

We had the exact same thing in Britain back in the 50s and 60s that used a 12v car battery and hand peddles.
We called them Invalid carriages.
They even had a rack in them for your wheel chair.
We still have all electric modern versions of them now.
It would be nice to see the video in "real time" rather than being "sped up".

What I like about it...its the brain-child of someone who dreamed it up, designed all it's workings, then built it, demonstrated it and took the time to video its use. The world is lucky to have this kind of people !
It would be nice to add a backseat to this. In the Philippines, they've been using tricycles or "sidecars" for transportation. It has covers around the passenger seat on its right side. I had ridden in it when I was a child in the '80s and early '90s.
I come from a hot country too now live in cold city and in my opinion this is mostly useful in cold places. Most people including me stops riding in cold months because of the wind it hits hard on you

I swear to God i have always dreamed of this-- bikes and cycles with a full covering for a single person - i wanted this mainly because when it rains here, it gets difficult to go to office/school. And if the roads are waterlogged, you can't drive your car either. So a cycle is much safer, and if there was an enclosure this, we could protect from rain. Even without rain, during 40 degree summer heat of tropical city, driving around on motor cycle is crazy.

I think the wheel would get in the way of your legs as you pedal. Unless you had it higher, but then it would obstruct your view. Side levers are probably the best way to go

That looks like a good design. Could use a third brake light up higher in the rear just in case a higher vehicle is behind and you start breaking just adding a bit more visibility as well to keep with norm safety you find on a car. Canada could love this try selling in Montreal and Ottawa area.

The price can be as high as the "cover" design. This particular one looks cheap though. The idea is good ofcourse. There's a market for this 100%.
Not at the pricetag they are putting it... going through their own website they are telling people prices in the $4500 range... you can buy a good used car for less
I know this is like a toy compared to an actual electric car, but I really feel that if society all adopted more lightweight vehicles redesigned from the ground up as from e-bike to automobile approach, we can greatly reduce the amount of fuel/power needed as well as reduce costs, resources, as well as reduce the damage caused by accidents (if all road vehicles were designed this way).
It’ll probably never happen, but I really feel that this would be great for society.
This is an electric car/bicycle hybrid. It is a great example of alternatives for personal car addicts. The actual production model has a molded hard shell for the lower half. See details on their website. Production starts in 2022.

Automobiles have progressed too far for that type of change. This is more of a bike alternative than a car alternative. Still think it’s cool though.
@@justainchoe6141 The whole point is that we should not be using freeways for personal vehicles. That is obsolete due to impacts. Instead take an emissions free bike on a bike path. Velomobiles are not too fragile for the speeds at which they were desigend to be used. This is in fact a viable car alternative that we must switch to to avoid stealing more than our fair share of resources from future generations. Long commutes and pleasure driving went obsolete a decades ago, most just don't know it yet.

Just look into recumbent bicycles with a canopy. This is a horrible design as anyone who tried to use a pedal car as a child will be able to tell you.

If it's not, if it has the power doubling motor assist, that's still painful, and in any way, when the battery is flat, you're shit out of luck. This is why every bike must be ergonomically sound to be usable, motor assist or not. This is why you design them inside out rather than outside in, and why they don't end up looking like cars.

O.K. works well on road, pavements and snow...How well does it work in a crash?
It would be lighter, probably similar to a bike crash, no fuel leaks that can roast the driver when ignited, could probably use multiple airbags upon impact to secure the driver. It be easier to break the thing if you're trapped in it.

Yeah that's a common mistake... I even had a dictionary in which meaning of tricycle were written as " A bicycle having three wheels" :)
The definition of a bike is not determined by the dictionary but by the local rules and regulations.
In many countries a bike can have 4 wheels no problem as long as it has a man powered pedal system and an electric motor that only supports the pedaling (so not working on its own)

In comparison like here in Finland, we have 95oct around 1.5eur everywhere and raising... so around 1.8usd. Our goverment says it should easily be raised around 2euros per litre, or even 2.5eur. In the near future.
@@jiipee7491 Here in Brazil it is horrible, because we are a poor country. The dollar rate here is 5.80 reais, which is our currency. Gasoline is rising in price every week, the liter of gasoline here is already 6.20 reais. It is absurd for us, it is of the kind that will, until the end of March, the liter will be 7.00 reais. Remembering that our minimum wage here is Cr $ 1,100.00 reais. Politicians increasingly stealing more and the Federal Supreme Court acquitted the greatest thief in Latin America, Lula, and it is a matter of time to arrest former judge Sérgio Moro, the main name of the lava jet operation. We are running out of things and the people can't take it anymore. We hope for a civil war and change the entire political and judicial system in Brazil. It is difficult, but there is no point. People are terrified.

@@gauchoesgualepado2860 Fair enough, didnt think about that far, poor times and trying to get civil wars going etc... But its getting hard here and there around the world, our pockets are going to be also empty sooner than most can think. Nothing is priority exept climate, electric cars and how to punish people who drives a car. Food prices and everything are going thru the roof... But wish you better sooner than later, get things sorted. Cheers!

I would buy it! The States really need to improve on their bike lanes for bicycle commuters. Germany's bike lanes are awesome -- maybe the States should follow suit.....
