Can someone explain why that move was good? I'm lost lol

Even Magnus' surprise at 6:41 shows your quality. Bravo Ediz, we are proud of you, proud of your achievements and we have no doubt that you will be a future champion💪🙏
and ediz champion succeeded 🫂
It wasn’t a good move though. They put “impressed” in the title for clickbait I believe. Trying to fa rm views off of lies like everyone does these days
@dontfearthereaper2887 youre a fool if you think that. its an exceptionally strong move and magnus finds almost the only answer possible to it. after the bishop exchange the knight on b2 is trapped. thats why magnus gives it up. white is then technically up in material (a bishop and knight for a rook). black is only better because his rook is way more active and the bishop is well placed, while whites advantage pieces are on the opposite side of blacks king and too far away for any relevant attack (also the knights moves are blocked by a strong centered pawn with the bishops support). if this is not magnus however, every other player would struggle to find an advantage out of the tempo in a 3min blitz game.
@@FrozenScarp its really not a strong move mate.
I understand that you are form turkey but thats not an excuse to be so damn biased.
This kid have tactical awareness, i will give him that, but very poor calculation skills relative to his level.
Because simplifying into an endgame were his opponent has a clear advantage is absolutely unreasonable move.
And i am sure if he saw that he wouldn’t have played that flashy tactic😂.
A kid at his age should have the ability to calculate a little bit deeper imo, but my guess is that he felt pressured by the time.
And Carlsen’s astonishment was real, because this move looked scary at first glance, but when he calculated it, he knew that it was just a poor move.
@dontfearthereaper2887learn how to count material first lmfao. Its 2 pieces for a rook which normally would be fine, but i guess ediz misevaluated the endgame and thought the 2 pieces were enough conpensation for the rook and 2 pawns.
He played so well !! Proud of you ediz
He playing opening and middlegame ad amateur, absolute stupid sheme for white in Sicilian ,haha...the result is logical

man i need to pay more attention to this channel, thank you for the amazing videos
For those that don't get it, after Magnus takes the rook, the knight jump to b4 also revealed a queen attack on Magnus' knight leaving him with two threatened pieces. He found a way out by moving the rook to d8 but he still lost the knight. Magnus didn't see it until the rook sac, but the kid saw it instantly that's why he was so surprised.

@@ozyaba yeah obviously they are better players but my point is that the move isn’t that groundbreaking. Give any decent player 30-60 seconds and they would find it. The kid found it immediately though, and that’s what is impressive

Not sure if he was really "impressed/surprised by...calculation." He had two passers on the queenside and an extra pawn on the kingside for the piece. And not to mention, black's unopposed rook. In matter of fact, SF 16.1 gives black a -3.42 advantage even if white were to play the best move at 7:40.
Totally wrong
We need your commentary to understand
8:00 was the critical position where all was lost.
Magnus was threatening to fork knight and bishop here with Rd6, but it didn't work in this instance because white would reply Bc5 skewering rook and king.
Thus after white played Kf2 Magnus played Ke8 to prepare the fork.
Kid was winning if he just moved his dark squared bishop in response to this, but instead blundered Bd3, allowing the simple tactic of f5 which kicked the bishop and dropped the knight.
Opponent resigned because A and B pawns were unstoppable.
I just checked with an engine and it says that even at 8:00 the game was already -3.0. I guess the A and B pawns are just that unstoppable.
The best continuation is given as:
1. Ba5 e4
2. Bb4+ Ke8
3. Kf2 exf3
4. Kxf3 Bf8
5. Bc3 Kd7
6. Bh8 Rd6
7. Nf6+ Kc6
8. Nxh7 Be7
9. Kf4 Rd2
10. Ke3 Rd8...

Turkish prodigy Ediz Gürel
After they finish.. and put the pieces back.. why do they left the king piece in the middle??
It's to show who won the game. You can see that Magnus is playing with the black pieces and after they finish, both of the kings are on the black squares. If the white wins, the kings would be on the white squares. If it was draw, both of the kings would be on their own squares.
Carlsen bagus aku nyimak carlsen juaranya 👍🙏❤️
Magnus and Nepo on one team is so OP
He is not impressed 6:41 is a blunder
It's not a blunder. People use that word way too often for things they see are suboptimal according to computer analysis.
The kid is already in a losing position... but that was a nice tactic in blitz that might have fooled a less accurate player than Magnus. He was impressed.
Ediz is the future of Turkish Chess.
A 15yo grandmaster? Notorious genius!
Magnus had obviously overlooked the move. Really bad luck for Ediz that the combo doesn't quite work and gives Black a 1.3 advantage.
Magnus: "and people call him a prodigy? Nevermind"

Seems like a very tense and unfriendly atmosphere between all the players. No good game, no pleasant chit chat about the game; just emotionless nothing.
What are you talking about? They're literally chatting at the beginning, people are smiling. If you mean there was no analysis the end, that doesn't always happen.
I'm guessing you're new to chess, because this a completely normal atmosphere.

6:41 aqui o Carlsen melou as zorba

Can someone tell me why they leave their kings in the center? Is that something people do in tournaments?
1) If both the kings on white squares then white won.
2) If both the kings on black squares then black won.
3) If white king is on white square and black king is on black square then draw.
In this case black won so u can see both the kings on black square.

I don't think that he was impressed.
It looks more like a reaction towards a blunder.
His position started falling apart after that move.
Players should be fined $5 USD each time they cough.
