The look of admiration on Anna's face as her mum moves around the board with ease and completes the job
I play chess abit but this was really calming to watch. And the discussion at the end about moves was beautiful!
She so diffrent from Anna and I love to see how she plays differently. I appreciate Anna for sharing her parents with us🎀
Watching Pia's games they often seem to start so calmly, and then at one point she breaks out an absolutely gangster move and proceeds to demolish your soul.
Her father GM won a senior tournament in Trondheim, Norway just a few days ago, with 8 out of 9.
LOL I wish they'd play to the very end so I could see the checkmate. I couldn't tell who was winning or why he suddenly conceded. I cannot think that far ahead. I thought he was hammering her. He even took her queen! It's quite clear that I wouldn't last thirty seconds against this woman.
Wish too. I suck at chess but she was going to get another Queen and finish him.
She was either going to get her new queen or take his castle if he went after her soldier. Either way he was gonna inevitably lose
Thank you for making this comment, I couldn't for the life of me figure out why they were stopping the match before any conceivable checkmate scenario. Didn't know pawn-promoting was a thing
She *let* him take the queen as a distraction, because just after, his queen couldn’t move because it was in between her bishop and his king. So then she had insane leverage and was able to gut his army, including his queen.
@@FizzyProductionsss Yes, this is why pawns are so important in Chess. They're the weakest pieces, but if one gets to the end it gets to turn into any other piece (except a King).
Such a good game and good respectful sportsmanship! Your mom is so sweet.
Mom is a trash talker, and I’m here for it! “Yes, this is good for you”! 😂😂😂😂
He is a very good player. That was a great game.
The fact that they can remember moves so far back is impressive. Brilliant!
Pia is the wonderful goodwill ambassador for competitive chess!
That was a crazy game !
I'm always amazed how these GMs are so good, even if they don't play online, like Pia. That a3 sicilian is quite trendy nowadays, seems like your mom did not know about that opening, and still go a playable position, even if it is very tricky.
Even when her opponent played so well, and got a great position, he crumbled at the end with some great tactics by Pia going into a winning endgame.
Amazing to see !
Dude played a great game. Should be very proud.
Absolutely loved seeing Pia toying with these fresh young players 👌 she's incredible
She wasn't toying with him, he's actually really good.
Great game, GM Pia!
The way Pia carries herself and acts at the chess board is so nice to see. You can tell how downright kind she is, same goes for Ethan who she played, he showed great character and seems like a great guy.
Such a kind person--and a ferocious chess player!
1:00 Pia: "Yes this is fine for you now". This innocent "now" was kind of prophetic.
"now" as a consequence of her misplaying the response.
Kudos to Pia for showing a true love of the chase and pacing herself so as to not crush his soul halfway through the contest. ❤️
