It would be an honor to play Pia and a learning experience. One of the strongest woman players in history and probably top 30 overall or so at her peak strength at least, I would suspect, that needs a second look. I don't think he knew, which is a little bit of a shame. She has a super-deep positional understanding and precise knowledge of what to sac and when. Her games are enjoyable and kind of shock my brain with some moves, I learn a lot by watching. Dudes, she played Karpov, that deserves plenty respect right there.

@@nicepasta734 I'm not much of a chess player, but I saw that coming. Yes, he put her on the 'defensive' initially, however, you may not have noticed, but from what I could tell, she accounted for it, made it part of her strategy. The fact that she did that was something he never saw coming. She was able to make it look like she was on pure defensive, right up until he realized she wasn't.

It helps when it's an opening you've been practicing a long time; it helps a lot actually. Play the same opening over 1000 times and eventually you'd do the same cus you get used to seeing a lot of positions over and over. I used to think it was some jedi mind trick, but no, it just comes with practice and skill. Anyone could do it with effort. It's kind of like learning a complex song or composition on an instrument. At first you can't play any of it but after a year of practice you can recite any measure at any time with ease.
