I need some matte colors in my life because the urban decay naked palettes have too much shimmers.
I know right? Shimmery eyeshadows need to go out of style for a bit. I'm sick of 90% of them having shimmer.

I have the first UD naked palette and it's honestly just not as pigmented as I would like.
Thanks for reviewing this! I certainly understand you wanting more variety in a palette, but its basicness is actually a big part of what sold me on it. My work environment is conservative enough I don't feel comfortable wearing much shimmer or definite color... this seems like it could be a workhorse for the kind of no makeup look expected.

I feel like it was meant to be more of a companion palette than a stand alone palette. I can see it pairing beautifully with Naked 3!

My husband got this for me and I love it for everyday. The mirror is huge and the pigmentation is great. If you are looking for a nice matte palette then go buy!!
The packaging is so cute!!! And yessss a mirror that stands up. That is like gold in my world hahaha. Cuz I like to have mirrors close to my eyes when I'm I'm doing detail work. Perfect! I'm really excited about this one.
Great review! Although the It Cosmetics has a wider shade variety, i do feel that Tarte's mattes are creamier, easier to blend, and the pigmentation to be better than that of It's Cosmetics. It's great to finally have some worthy options in all matte palettes.
Great review! I bought this palette and love it. I agree with you that the shadows go on nice and last. I think everyone should have one nice neutral matte palette. AND Tarte does not torture animals, so great!
I actually prefer Tarte over IT eyeshadows. But both are nice.
The tartelette palette is so much better than the It cosmetics palette. I returned the It one do to it not being as pigmented nor did it blend well.
Just got mine on Friday and 1st used today. LOVE it! You forgot to tell them Tarte listened and put the shadow names on the packaging and not that silly insert 💖 love your channel Bailey! Keep doing what you do.
I ordered the IT Cosmetic Naturally Pretty palette and powder foundation/brush set from QVC as a Christmas gift to me. They offer the palette with a nice double ended shadow brush for a dollar more and had free shipping as well. This is my first all matte palette and IT Cosmetic purchase and I love it! :)

Great editing! That tarte palette looks so pigmented and pretty.
Plus if you buy the IT cosmetics palettes on QVC it comes with a double ended brush...amazing!
i would recommend the lorac pro palette over those two palette! so much more shade ranges.
I heard that the Tarte Tartelette eyeshadows are more pigmented than the IT Cosmetics ones who are more muted. Pigmentation is really important for me. Do you confirm? Thank you
I have been looking for matte palettes and I had tried the It palette and returned it, because for some reason, I didn't get good color pay off
I think it sucks! It's muddy and so hard to blend 😕
On Tarte's site it says this was available for a limited time with early access. It will be available in Spring 2015. I wanted to get it but thought with all the other make up coming out for the holidays I held off and will get it in the spring :)

Thank you for your review -- I find your reviews so comprehensive and informative. I ordered/received this new palette too -- I love everything TARTE, so had to have. I see it like a companion palette to the other sets, sorta like Naked Basics. I have the IT cosmetic ones too and agree those have a greater range but some of those shades on the eye kinda look the same too. Oh, if only we could have it all -- LOL :)

I don't have the second IT palette but was disappointed in the first one..I felt some of the colors lacked pigmentation and did not show up on my skin.....good review ..I am one of those people who really loves neutrals!!
I love how you suggested the versatile use for blush and bronzer. I would have never thought of that. I personally like sticking strictly to neutrals so I am looking forward to working with this palette(:

for me the selling point of this palette was the mirror and how its travel friendly (with the mirror and all the shades), also i owned the original naturally pretty matte palette and found that all the colors blended together and it turned into one muddy mess.. but this one i am obsessed with
The colors being similar was my only issue, still a nice palette
Very similar colors to the Rain forest after dark pallet.. You can basically get the same effects from that one so that's why I am skipping this one. Its a cute pallet tho!
It really is so hard for me to find mattes that don't go on patchy and that blend out beautifully, so do the it cosmetics mattes blend as smoothly as the tarte ones?
I return the tartalette, it was pretty, but the colors not that great for my skin tone, instead I bought the too faced natural eyes, smaller and much nicer, thanks for your video, help me a lot!

Beautiful colors, the price is ok, but it could be nice if they included a small primer and brush. My first matte pallet is the stilla "in the know" I love that palette and it has great colors and it's much cheaper..
I like that one too, I have it but I regret buying it because it's not cruelty free. I feel like stila is the same caliber as tarte when it comes to soft and pigmented. I personally prefer the way the eyeshadows feel when I am wearing them, tarte ' s are not as heavy on my lids.

Maybe if that called this mature matte palette you would have not critical of its colors. It is a great matte palette hence the name. I am glad there are none of the other wild colors that would get wasted and take up space on the palette. Perfect for my everyday needs.
I didn't say it wasn't great. I said I would have liked a wider variety of shades. And I believe you can get that variety without adding in colors that would get wasted. It's why I referenced the two It Cosmetics palettes - because I think they do a rally good job of that, by comparison.

Would you recommend the tartelette palette over the natural matte palette by TooFaced? I might want to buy a matte palette but I'm not sure which one to go for? (For reference, I'm extremely pale with a pink undertone, blue eyes and brown hair.) Thank in advance!

SUCH an incredibly helpful video; thank you so much for the great review & ESP the comparison/ comments re: the IT palettes. It's as if you read my mind re: wondering if this would add a lot to my " shadow repertoire" since I already have the original IT palette. I was thinking no but kept wondering & eyeing it so you really helped confirm the sane side of my thoughts & "talk down" the "oo, but it's so pretty" 😍 side of me, so to speak.

I bought the It Cosmetics Celebration palette and was not impressed with it. The shadows took forever to build up, every shade looked the same once applied and everything blended into a mess :( I was bummed.
Are these shadows a better quality?
Ehh the tarte one still appeals to me more, I just went out and picked it up :P But that's probably because I'm very drawn to the purple/ mauve/ rose. I don't know, I'm loving it. I'm actually so excited to put on my makeup in the morning haha. Anyways, this is a very honest and good review! My first video of yours,I'm definitely going to subscribe.

I just ordered this palette & I'm excited to have it & use more matte eye shadows ;-)) this palette is currently on QVC for $36.36 & also comes with a double sided brush! Great deal & initially I was really resisting this palette but after seeing it so much & seeing it for that price i caved ;-)) the price is good until 1/29/15 ... Your welcome all who can get it for $36 instead of $44 ;-))
Yes but you pay for shipping so it is almost the same cost.

It's still less than paying $44 dollars for the palette & no brush ... I ended up paying $46 for the palette including tax & shipping so technically I got the palette and paid $2 for shipping & got a double ended brush! I still SCORED & you should too! ;-)
Yeah you ladies are right. I forgot about the brush. I ended up getting it from ulta for $36 bucks with my member 20% off coupon. Can't wait to try it.

I've been debating whether or not to purchase the tartelette palette.. I've heard mixed reviews about it and just wanted to know if the shadows are chalky? some have said they are really easy to work with while others have said you have to work it a little to get color. I just wanted to know before i purchase it so i know ! thanks!

Also I highly recommend the Physicians Formula Matte Collection Quads. There are three of them - all neutral, but one warmer, one cooler, & one rose-toned. I have two of them & LOVE them; there are a few great reviews/ mentions of them here in UA-cam land but I honestly can't believe they don't get more attention as they are great. They are $6.99 each @ ULTA & currently are buy 1, get 1 half off. I just ordered the one I didn't have & can't wait for it to arrive. While obviously it's always great to catch a sale, quality-wise they are fully worth a full price purchase & more. Hope this helps!

I really like Tarte, but I feel like all their palettes kind of look the same: neutral with a few plum shades mixed in. I know the quality it's awesome, but these shades don't excite me.
