#redream #flycast #nulldc - Ігри
Redream has a lot of aliasing going on while flycast does not, which probably explains the better FPS in some games w/ Redream.
- NullDC is old, but all in all stable;
- FlyCast is the only one of the three to support games for Naomi and Atomiswave (for now), but sometimes it has embarrassing frame drops and some bugs in certain games;
- Redream is extremely stable, high compatibility (now it can read almost the entire Sega Dreamcast stock), a pleasant and practical design, compatible with different operating systems (not just Windows). In fact, I haven't found any faults in this emulator, and from what I've heard they are preparing for a substantial update!
I own all three, but I don't deny that I always use Redream in the end!
P.S.: great comparison!
Thanks for your comment.
Reicast or Redream?
@@Abel-Alvarez Redream. My fault!
ReiCast is discontinued and Flycast is just a continuation of reicast
@@efeloteishe4675 I know! In fact i use Redream for Dreamcast emulation!
Just the fact you have to pay for redream is a no-go for me. The whole emulation scene is mainly based on being free.
I also think it's a bad thing to have to pay to release resolution scale for example, which is something basic that we have in all emulators. On the other hand, I understand that this is the work of the guys, but it could be otherwise, as is the PPSSPP.
is just 5$ and is worth it and is a 1 time payment not monthly.
Emulation isn't to enable piracy. It's done for multitudes of reasons, from software preservation, to better rendering by breathing new life to older games with higher settings, adding quality of life features, etc.
If anything this is great because you can try the emulator as a demo, see if you like how it works/functions and than decide wither or not you wanna buy the software. And if you're content with how it runs, want to pirate the games, and don't care about it being in original resolution size, keep the free version. I doubt you stop using winrar because it asks you to pay on the splash screen.
ReDream License is DRM free, you can reuse as many times as you want, it's a 1 time fee of 5 dollars.
Especially considering their emu is not open source, so they could be using other open source code to run their own emu and charging money for the work other people did for free
@@leftyfourguns Redream used to be open source but the lead dev closed it all due to a dispute with RetroArch devs.
In most of testing games, Flycast consumes less System RAM than Redream Lite in this video. In contrast, Redream Lite produces more stable results at 60 FPS. But I prefer Flycast because it allows me to play acade game console NAOMI & NAOMI 2. ^_^
I'm just amazed at how amazing these games still look just with a simple resolution bump
Redream is the best. Games play really smooth with much better 1% lows and less stuttering than the other two. The interface is nice and simple, made for gamepads. It runs on low end machines easily. I have a 2012 laptop with a nvidia 640m 2GB. It runs fine on most games in 1080p 60fps.
I played in all Dteamcast games on emulators of Chankast and nulldc 1.0.6 on Athlon 2200+ (One core 1800 mhz), 256 mb ram, radeon 9200 (64 mb) and on Android 2 core, 1 gb ram mali 400 on emulator reicast.
Wouldn't it be better to be humble and make a patreon than to charge for resolution scaling and save state slots? Redream devs are the same type of people as egg ns devs.
Or maybe you could not be a cheap ass and just pay you act like they want so much dude it's $5 dollars smh 🤦 You probably want new triple a games for free as well
@@MrWhis-fe5hs if you want my real answer though, paying for emulators just doesn't sit right with me. The devs do deserve monetary support, so a patreon instead of charging for the emulator or some important function in one seems more appropriate to me.
patreon is monthly payment while current premium version is just around 5$ and one time payment.
It looks like Redream is running at 480p? Kind of wish you were running the premium version to see if it's worth paying for over just playing Flycast for free. Flycast runs well on my machine, even at 4K, but I do get like texture glitches in say, the characters' hair or on the floor or walls. Redream seemingly runs flawlessly and has the best UI, but without seeing its performance at higher resolutions, it's harder to chance the purchase.
Clearly Flycast is the best as it supports Vulkan and DirectX, i tried it on my Android device and Sonic Adventure 2 runs at 60 fps with 720p while redream struggles with just 480p
@@efeloteishe4675 Redream Premium support 1080/4k resolution without problems to 60fps stables!
@@overlord1990I think it depends on the power of your device.. I use flycast mainly for Sonic adventure 1@2 and I can run it at 1440p (3x resolution) widescreen 20:5:9 and it looks stunning. -snapdragon 865
@@Sir.47 Obviously it depends on the performance of the device, but Redream has an extra gear as it is also optimized for devices that are not exactly performing. I have done several tests on different devices, from Android smartphones to Windows / Linux PCs, using both FlyCast and Redream, and the latter turned out to be the more stable of the two (in the end I keep them both despite using the latter more)
Redream is the worst dreamcast emulator by far.
Cool is buying the Redream Premium worth it to play Shenmue 1 & 2 (I'll most likely just play Hang On using gyrosteer of the amazing Sony Playstation DualSense).
God bless.
So Flycast or Redream for Android?
Illumination looks amazing in flycast but redream has 60 fps that obviously looks cool, nothing essential but cool though
how about reicast?

Surprised to see in some games Flycast drops to half the FPS of Redream and NullDC.
Redream has Android support too
NullDc better for me, but not update 😅 speed better 👍, resolution best 👍.
Flaycash better. Work for my Android & Laptop's.
ReDream bad for me, i dint know its issue, but some miss ress on fullacreen and bad port.
FLYCAST CAN PLAY ATOMISWAVE AND NAOMI DREAMCAST
russian demul too
How download this games?For flycast)
Cool Rom

Fisrt game name?
Sonic Adventure 2
Dreamcast in 4k... REDREAM all the way!
Pay the man his $6.00! (£5.80 UK Pound-Sterling)
The interface is absolutely 'Dreamy' (Pun intended!)... Seriously: It's gorgeous!
I have Retroarch too, so playing games in 4K is no problem... But Redream earns it's stripes in my opinion!
Soul Calibur after more than 20 years, in 4K! The End!!!
i still think flycast is better just for the fact that it support naomi and atomiswave
