"people still use TeamSpeak?" As a TS server host and admin I am insulted sir. Also yes. Discord is just not feature rich enough for communities that end up with large numbers of players at single events, milsim groups who need better channel controls, or some other communities that need to have channels for separate activities but still need a broadcast option to notify everyone with speech. I've used TS in ARMA, SQUAD, EVE, planetside (1 and 2), and several other games like those.
The Asus is still just a gaming headset, as most people say you'd be better going for better audio gear instead. Although with the SHP9500 a btr5 is not necessary as they are only 32 ohms so will run just fine plugged into anything, not to mention the btr5 is nearly as expensive as the headphones so you should just put that money towards better headphones as they are always the most important factor. I have not used SHP9500's before, but I've heard that AKG K612 Pro's are good for only slightly more, and hd6xx's are currently on offer at Massdrop which I personally own and definitely recommend, although you may want an amp for these so overall more expensive.
@@alexbarnett321 I had to rewatch it. I thought the headphone was wireless. I got the shp9500 for $50 (including tax) during my travel. @@NA-dt5sz I agree totally about the labs, with all the work and money they've put into audiofile gear testing I'm sure they'll do great especially as more simplified and easy to understand than some more hardcore channels, if your needing the btr for a phone that makes much more sense, especially the 5 being a good price for what it is and it would still be very useful if you ever decide to upgrade
honestly for people on a budget I recommend getting clearance versions of last year's premium model. I got a $400 headphone for $200 this way. and with the chip shortage and inflation I expect newer models to cut corners to keep costs down. granted you won't get the latest AI tech or USBtC charging (the latter is still annoying), but you will still get quality sound at a reasonable price.
My question is, do you need the windows app running to get the AI noise canceling to work or is it processed in the headset? If it enables me to have AI noise canceling on Linux then I will buy the headphones immediately.
On paper seems very nice, but that would need to do better if Asus want people to change from a Logitech G Wireless Pro X to their headphones specially with that price im seeing the logitech one floating between 150-200 dollars new
Is it possible to have a range test on the wireless headphones and earbuds? I use mine with bluetooth during outside yard work while playing music off my ipad in the house as I do not own a cell phone, and my ipods don't have wireless. Keep damaging the wired ones. Thanks.
"If it is good at music then it is good at everything". Nothing could be further from the truth. EQ curves for music are COMPLETELY different than those for voice. There is a reason why POTS phones and pilots headsets sound the way they do - clarity of voice. Because that is what is important in those environments.
The high-end aviation headsets literally became the premiere headphones for Sennheiser and Bose, lol. Proper music EQ is flat. Your source is what you want to represent.
He never said that.. He said, "If it's a good set of headphones, then it's good at everything. If it's bad at music, then it's bad at whatever it's supposed to do."
Yeah but those scenarios you mentioned are oddly specific. If a Pilot is in the air, with this headset. YES, they need to clarify voice. What, you think this dude is popping on a pair of Sony XM4's with ANC? Like, no. I can't imagine it's necessarily quiet in a cockpit, of course they have to emphasize voices. Dude thinks they be whippin out Airpods Max before takeoff
Having a recessed USB-C port isn't a "feature". It's just proprietary bullcrap. You normally can't use other cables to charge this which is a hassle as you'd have to carry this or take good care of this particular cable, If ever the cable stops working for whatever reason, you'd have to buy this particular cable again. I don't like this host, many issues with him in many videos.
Still nice to watch these reviews, but I stopped using gaming headsets about 18 months ago, and now use my HiFiMAN HE4xx or Beyerdynamic DT770 pro 250ohn through an ifi zenDAC and THX AAA780 amp with a modmic usb, mainly because I was too lazy to change over headphones one day and it just ruined my Logitech g935 after that

Would you get no noise and perfectly clean voices? Would you be fully muted? Would you get an insane ammount of strange noises? We must see
Having RTX and Krisp on at the same time just makes you sound more robotic, only use 1.
Considering LTT Labs I would really like to see a Audio Latency Test for Wireless Headphones, Latency Tests for all kinds of Wireless Peripherals would be really helpful.
Rtings does this already so I can't imagine labs won't do this aswell
I think I'll stick with my DT 1990...
I don't know how I feel about having A.I. in my headphones.
i doubt there's AI in your headphones.
they probably just come with bloated software that you have to run on your pc that contains a crappy version of rtx voice.
so, there's zero value to this feature, considering you can put AI software on any headset's mic
@@stephenkamenar it works on ps4, so there's a chance that it really is in the headphones.
Are you just a boomer afraid of new things? There is literally no rational reason to oppose using AI to improve listening experience if it is a viable option.
@@MrGamelover23 interesting. would be nice if the review mentioned any of this. these reviews are so bad. just a bit of marketing and first impressions
@@stephenkamenar It's not a review. Shortcircuit doesn't do reviews, it's an unboxing + first impressions
Petition to compare wireless headsets with regular old wireless headphones from brands like Sony and Bose!
I have to imagine you're getting worse sound for your money. The microphone and latency could be the tie-breaker though!
I have a RIG 600 Pro HX. It has similar ideas to the Delta S Wireless, since it has a USB-C 2.4Ghz receiver the same way the ROG Delta S Wireless has, but it's compatible with the Xbox. Planning to get one of these ROG Delta S Wireless headsets soon in May.
Look out for that tree! 🤣
I got this headset 25% off with pre order 6 days ago and it’s great. The only downside is that it comes with short cable and it’s wireless only.
so the cable is only for charging not dirrect connect?
@@greenphoenix7365 yep
Alrighty, the banana in the tree bit got me. Hilarious.
We have not gotten very good at making fake leather. It is some of the worst material around.
4:05 - RTX sound or RTX voice is now a part of NVIDIA Broadcast
Please start putting #AD or something in the title so I know I can skip these types of videos and only watch the genuine unboxings. Annoying I only find out the video is an ad only when I've clicked on it
"OOOO, it's headphones!" Whatta revelation in a headphone video!
YES, if you have a old PC teamspeak uses very little resures.
I stg if Labs uses bananas-for-scale as a unit of measurement I’m gonna lose it
"people still use TeamSpeak?"
As a TS server host and admin I am insulted sir.
Adams linus cosplay was pretty good
Asus in comparison to SHP9500 + fiio BTR5? which is better for gaming?
or shp9500 + $1 aliexpress mic
or other headphones + mic around $200 range?
I like my SHP9500 plus vmoda boom pro for gaming. Extremely comfortable
Picked up the BTR5 because….. iPhone does not have a headphone jack for my iem and the price difference between BTR3 and BTR5 was only $10. Great review though. I hope Linus tech tips will review audiofile level gear with the new labs because when I was young I thought you needed a gaming headset…. You know so I can blame something. Plus it will open everyone’s eyes to what is out there. IEMs included.
Thank you
@@NA-dt5sz I agree totally about the labs, with all the work and money they've put into audiofile gear testing I'm sure they'll do great especially as more simplified and easy to understand than some more hardcore channels, if your needing the btr for a phone that makes much more sense, especially the 5 being a good price for what it is and it would still be very useful if you ever decide to upgrade
honestly for people on a budget I recommend getting clearance versions of last year's premium model.
I have an AI in my head and she calls me studmuffin.
What is the difference between bt mode and 2.4ghz mode when bluetooth uses the 2.4ghz frequency too? Or is it using the wifi connection?
48,000 kHz? I might be wrong, but I think that it is 48 kHz, or 48,000 Hz.
Audiophiles will be upset by this
Teamspeeak takes me back to the good old days with MOHAA.
Are yall going to review the new Sennheiser momentum 4's? I heard they will be on par to the sony xm5
On paper seems very nice, but that would need to do better if Asus want people to change from a Logitech G Wireless Pro X to their headphones specially with that price im seeing the logitech one floating between 150-200 dollars new
Yes, people use TeamSpeak to cut all the "free" features of other software and not be dependant on public crap servers
Yeah they're Teamspeak certified, but are they Roger Wilco certified?
"I'm ultimating" sounds like sth you could use on the bed
The quality on the fake leather asus uses is beyond bad. It starts to flake and tear after 1 year of use. And I own multiple products that has it..
Sure would be dope if those yellow bananas for scale were in stock.
Have you ever thought about doing a review on woojer edge?
My last ROG headset was the most comfortable headset I have ever used.
What ROG headset was?
@@Maxpowa6297692 I don't remember what model it was it was 6 years ago
The battery life is very good for sure but the sound cancelation and the microfone really surprised me a lot
You can check the supported codecs in developer options in android devices.
Just buy Beyers 770dt pro with some 20-30 usd amp/dac and you are done for 10 years.
What laptop do you use? The matt black looks really good
Those are some big chungus earcups :)
Is it possible to have a range test on the wireless headphones and earbuds? I use mine with bluetooth during outside yard work while playing music off my ipad in the house as I do not own a cell phone, and my ipods don't have wireless. Keep damaging the wired ones. Thanks.
Its a almost copy from steelseries. Go check their arctics nova pro
What even is this lmao
Which is funny, because these headphones are not really good at music.
Below 30Hz? Gunshots are way up higher in the frequencies.
Polyester exterior, major fail there. Those will be huge sweat traps..
4.25 banana, 1 meter for scale
I can’t I’m sorry I just can’t seem to like these new hosts no matter how hard I try

3:21 you think that is "descent" who has that big of a head you need it to flex 360 degrees
This shit screams paid advertising all over the place. I don't think he would recommend these in normal circumstances
Still nice to watch these reviews, but I stopped using gaming headsets about 18 months ago, and now use my HiFiMAN HE4xx or Beyerdynamic DT770 pro 250ohn through an ifi zenDAC and THX AAA780 amp with a modmic usb, mainly because I was too lazy to change over headphones one day and it just ruined my Logitech g935 after that
Can you start doing glasses tests? I've bought many headsets only to find after 30 minutes of use I'll start to get really bad headaches from the clamp pressure on the glasses. Exactly the reason I'm still using my 5 year old Razer Krakens, only "cheaper" (within my budget) headset that I can wear for hours with no problems
he does mention clamping pressure is low, but I'm sure the glasses 🤓 wearing community would prefer something more definitive.
@@sim2er clamping pressure is all well and good but I don't think anyone with glasses has ever done the testing (correct me if wrong)? With these new heads they've got, I'm hoping they can adapt testing to include glasses somehow
I legit thought it was a young Luke on the thumbnail!
Teamspeak is still more easily integrated into games for things like modded proximity or radio communication systems compared to discord, thats the main reason i see it used myself.
Also, i hate those replaceable ear cups. That stupid thin plastic interface is the most finniky and unsatisfying thing. Magnets or clips next time please
I've seen these a month or two ago on their site, and i want to buy them, but there is nowhere to buy them where i from 🤯
When will headset manufacturers spend more than 20 cents on a microphone? This sounds bad even compared to some cheap electret mics you can get in a 10 pack for a few dollars on aliexpress.
I bought some no named condensor mic on Amazon for $70 with a scissor arm and it has a mute button on the mic. It's USB but it sounds great and doesn't pick up background noise. It's like these companies put thr worst mics into their headsets and then try and say it's great. They're all bad
@@cooleyzz Condenser mics are always going to be better just because they are bigger. I'm on a similar setup with a standalone USB mic, though in the past my friend and I replaced our headset mics with $1 or $2 electret mics ordered online and it was definitely worth it.
Still hard to beat the steelseries arctis pro wireless with the hotswap batteries
PS5 don't allow Bluetooth speakers, I've tried to connect BT speakers to my PS5 in the past and it gives me a message that it can't connect, which is dumb seeing as Sony invented BT technology in the first place, or have they updated the PS5 to know allow BT speakers cos i got a BT sound bar that i had to connect to my Screen via 3.1 jack as it also came with that option, which is the only way for me to get any sound out of my screen( as the screen has no speakers) It's also connected to my desktop and works fine as a gaming speaker.
Teamspeak is still the way to go. I'm MAD about him bad mouthing about the lord and saver teamspeak!
It's amazing he's able to be more annoying than Riley.
"Ooh... I'm ultimating! 😳"
Honestly, I prefer the MPOW-059, but this looks good quality.
Is thease head phones or any headphones are tested for people who wear glases ?? That is my big question ! As the sound usually are distorted .. with glases on.
Could you start trying these out with people who wear glasses? I'd love some over ear headphones, but every one I try after about 15 mins or so, the back of my ears are as sore as hell from cup pressure on the arms.
This guy reminds me of my friend. I love him, but I cannot spend too long in the same room with they guy, my brain gets fried lul
can we please standardize magnetic earcup cushions
it would be cool if you guys do head to head comparison of the sennheiser momentum 4 and sony xm5
Questions:
1) What its frequency response like in either mode (bt/dongle)? (i.e.: will it butcher music?)
2) What Bluetooth audio codecs does it support?
3) What does the mic sound like over bluetooth?
4) What does music sound like in them while you're using the mic in bluetooth?
5) Does it support BT multipoint?
6) While charging - does it still work? (depressingly often this is something that needs to be asked)
(Also, please forward these questions to the Labs-people for when they're building their test suite)
I don't think these support 3.5 mm but for 🎧 that do, I need to know it will still work when the battery is exhausted. really disappointed by a premium brand overlooking basic functions like that.
I'm surprised the bullshit "discord compatibility" claim wasn't brought up.
