You made this video an actual worthwhile watch dude. You’re fast becoming the goat in Gaming audio. Eclipsed the majority of other reviewers in such a short time. Your effort isn’t going unnoticed 🫡🤘
I love your videos in part due to how you invite other creators. GadgetryTech is my favourite headset channel on UA-cam, so super happy to see him here.
I got the Atlas Air and it's better than I expected. I mainly use the MMX 300 2nd gen, but wanted wireless open back for couch/chill gaming and they actually sound fantastic
I'm curious about the Astro A50 Gen 5's. Is there anything stopping you from plugging in another PC to the Playstation-labelled port? I don't play on PS but have two PCs that I'd like to connect this to. Would that matter?
I'll be honest, I'm very surprised to see Alienware and ASUS on this list. Always just kinda considered them as cheap "gotta have that in our lineup but don't wanna design our own" kinda whitelabel thing
The Asus Delta II are legitimately good. Don't care for the RGB personally, but just turned that off. I use my Sennheiser PC37X (open back) a lot of the time but when I want zero distractions and play a game where footsteps or harder to hear details are important then the Delta II are my go to. It's also nice to have a gaming headset that you can remove the mic, never use a mic when I game, and unfortunately the Sennheiser PC37X has a non detachable mic even if it can be rotated up out of the way
I have an astro a50, I love it but I'm constantly listening to people complain about how bad the mic quality is, and the cushion bit on the top doesnt stay in place, I had to buy a clip to hold it together
The A50 he is talking about in the vid, is the one that literally released on the 16th of november this year. The older ones are bad in terms of mic quality but this one has the same mic as the A50X. The new A50s are exactly the same as the A50Xs except for the base station. (no hdmi, only usb-c) The new ones are called the A50 Gen 5 or some websites call it the A50 Lightspeed.
I've been using the Logitech G Pro X2 Lightspeed set for a while now and audio can be hit or miss depending on the game. I also had to remove the Logitech ghub drivers cuz they made the overall volume low. Are any of these headsets covered in the video better than the Pro X2s? Or at least offer generally louder audio for a wider range of games.
Will the mic on the turtle beach atlas air headset pick up sound of what I'm watching or playing since the headset is an open back? Will my friends be able to hear youtube from my own headset when I'm in a call?
I have the 379.99 version and the main difference between the two versions is simply bitrate. The expensive version does 24 bitrate and the other does 16 bitrate.
Great video overall, and I loved the inclusion of GadgetryTech, but I found something to be lacking here in that videos like this make it hard to figure out which of these headphones actually sound good / better than the other. There is no reference point. Sure, you guys talked over the objective sound metrics, but that is not enough. We need the subjective takes from you guys about how these headphones sound, and especially how they sound compared to headphones of the past. Like, for example, comparing the Alienware Pro to the Audeze Maxwell, or comparing the Alienware Pro to the ASUS Rog Delta 2, or comparing the ASUS Rog Delta to how they sound against the Logitech G Pro X 2 That said, I understand y'all have a limited time to work with, but just saying what's helpful for us, the consumers
What’s the point of a “subjective” test, when everyone hears things different and perceives sounds differently, when we can give you the literal objective measurements to show you how they sound. You can then compare each sound chart, giving you the comparison without bias. This video is already a half hour long with 7 different headsets. It’s not a dedicated review of each, but a general overview of each.
@randomfrankp I'm not an expert in audio, so excuse my ignorance, but my understanding from looking into headphones is that objective sound measurements don't tell the whole story i.e., a perfectly tuned headphone doesn't mean that it will sound better than a slightly out of tune headphone because there are other metrics to audio e.g. detailing For example, in his reviews, GadgetryTech has a section for Subjective Sound in his reviews where he often talks about how, for example, the Alienware Pro sounds a degree better than the Logitech G Pro X 2, and saying that it sounds like a significantly more expensive headset. That tells me a LOT more than talking about the objective sound measurements, which can usually be tuned more or less anyway with an EQ. Additionally, GadgetryTech, when talking about the sound quality of the ASUS Rog Delta 2 in his review said that it has less detailing in the audio than the Logitech G Pro X 2. This again told me a lot, and it helped paint a picture in my mind about how the audio quality is ranked between these headsets: ASUS Rog Delta 2 < Logitech G Pro X 2
Yeah the Astro is incredible definitely Astro > Asus(slightly muffled)= Atlus(slightly sharp) then all the others are a joke. The point of a gaming headset is to be able to communicate with others. Otherwise we'd just be wearing studio headphones. I really don't think the microphone quality factored in enough for this ranking. I genuinely don't think the 700's should even be on this list. The microphone is downright horrendous and the all around quality is a joke at the full retail price.
Asus Delta II are my favorite on this list. I dont like the rgb but that can be turned off. The Astros do have a great mic but as someone who never uses the mic, id prefer to be able to remove it.
I will maybe go for the Astros because I need a pair of headphones that I can easily pick up and start using when I need a mic lol. Otherwise I just use my studio monitors as I prefer not to use any headphones at all ;)
Delta 2 best overall for me especially battery life 120hrs with RGB off. A50s best mic and win features but also most expensive. Best price available now probably Atlas Air with impressive sound and most comfortable headset.
Beat it in what category? Audeze Maxwell performs worse regarding durability, comfort, imaging, and is more expensive than most of the headphones on this list. Maxwell is awesome for sound quality, but the gap has shrunk considerably when you consider headphones like Astro A50X and Alienware Pro. Maxwell is still great, but it's a trade off
On the a50 gen 5 I don’t really have the space for the dock so have it under the desk in a cable cage. I charge the headset with a usbc cable and it solves all the problem you mention around charging with the dock
I use the sony inzone H9, but those A50s really have me questioning my purchase lol. Astro has always been a solid choice honestly, and that mic quality is fucking absurd from a gaming headset.
@@lbieniek11 I was thinking the same why Isn't the Arctic nova pro wireless mentioned, but when I search all the models mentioned in the video they are all from 2024, so yeah only 2024, imo even tho they are from 2022 (arctis nova pro) they are one of the best wireless headset you can get rn
Honestly no clue how the 700 G3 got third place. They really don't seem like a proper upgrade over the G2 and the microphone being atrocious is a joke. Sounds just like my TB I had back in 2010 add to that the weight and reports I've already seen of them breaking I went with the Atlus.
I know right, my Logitech G Pro X headset is falling apart, dog knocked it off my desk and cracked it, wire is pulling apart on both ends. I was just looking for another headset recently, seriously considering going wireless again.
Get Audeze Maxwell. If you don't care for imaging (footsteps) too much its no competition. Maxwell has better audio quality than any headphone by a large margin. It was #1 on randomfrankp's 2023 top list and still beats 2024's #1, the Astro A50, in my opinion. Single player games, music and movies are extremely immersive due to Audeze's planar magnetic drivers.
I'd recommend the Alienware Pro. Just purchased it myself as well, and feels like it'll be a lot more of a comfortable headset than Maxwell's. Seems like a good successor to the Razer Barracuda
This gotta be a sign from the internet gods! My white corsair vituoso wireless headset just decided to call it quits on me before yesterday and RandomFrankp drops this video! Edit: After watching the full video, I thought ther would be the best budget headet as Im not spending over 100 for a headset when I dont game that much now.
PSA make sure whatever company you buy from sells replacement usb dongles. I lost my razor black shark v2 pro 2023 dongle and now I useless ~$200 headset cause razor doesn’t sell replacement dongles.
If you can still find them, the Sennheiser/Epos (Drop Collabs) PC37X and PC38X are excellent headsets with great mics. I got my PC37X on Amazon a few years ago. RandomFrankP had these on his Headset of the Year vid a few years ago

The mic test came out of nowhere! Loved it.
Nah that Astro mic is CRAZY. That sounds like a proper wired mic.

i don't understand the difference betwheen astro gen 5 and astro a 50 x , whats the real difference?i mean hdmi is for ps5 issues voice chat mix?
The a50x has hdmi switcher & 24bit for sound quality & a50 gen 5 has 16bit from what I heard & some say you can't really hear the difference
I'm not sure what I want. But I think the steal series nova pro is THE best? Despite being a year or 2 old now. Thoughts?
I'm curious about the Astro A50 Gen 5's. Is there anything stopping you from plugging in another PC to the Playstation-labelled port? I don't play on PS but have two PCs that I'd like to connect this to. Would that matter?

Can you do a ranking or suggestion on IEMs for gaming use
I was hoping to see a Hyper X on the list but the new ROG delta 2 really looks good as an alternative
Are any of these worth me upgrading from my Steelseries Arctic nova pros?
Yes to the Astro A50 gen 5
+1 Astro A50 best mic
Hi, is there any IEM that you recommend for competitive fps gaming? Thank you
GT-Joe is goated. Great inclusion to the video. He really deserves a sub and maybe a cut of the video profit…looking at you FrankyP 👀
Alienware wireless pro headset is a sleeper, not much reviews on it and not on many peoples list, but it's great. I just got mine in and I love it
Do you think the gen 5 Astro is better than the steel series arctis nova pro wireless because I might sell them to get these
Does the A50x fix the issue i hear about where the headset turns off if not perfectly upright ?
The mic test at the end is wild. Just subbed.
How is Audeze Maxwell not here?
Try listening to the intro.
Wasn’t touched much but how is the latency on all of these?
Imperceivable to humans over 2.4ghz.
