MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE W/ PASTOR OSTEEN & LAKEWOOD: I used to be a member there. I'm from Houston and last year I moved to the Caribbean for work. I joined Lakewood somewhere around 2000. Shortly after I joined, some kind of major flood hit Houston. At this time, Lakewood was a mega church, but it was in a poorer black neighborhood on the northeast side of town. When the flooding started, there was some married couples ministry event going on. People from the surrounding neighborhoods started coming to the church for help and Osteen stopped the event so that the church could take care of the people who were coming in. The catered food for the couples event went to feed the people who were coming in off the streets. And just kinda overnight, the church started to become the place where people were going to get help. Food and clothing donations were coming in, then the local media caught wind of it and interviewed Osteen and after that, church membership soared. I think that the building at that time sat about 8,000 and they had either 3 or 4 Sunday services. They still needed more space and I think about 2 years later, they moved to the present building. It used to be The Summit - where the Rockets played and where concerts were held (I saw Janet Jackson in concert there when I was in 7th grade). I lasted for 2 services there then I left. The present Lakewood seats over 16,000, and to me, still feels like a concert arena. I found a MUCH smaller church - basically 10 people in attendance including me and my fiance. And now that I moved to St Lucia I don't attend church at all. But I think that Houstonians were remembering the Joel Osteen who got all of that news attention during the flooding in the years before. He opened his church doors once, so they expected him to do it again. I'm glad that he FINALLY did because the people of Houston deserved more than his prayers. They needed some ACTION.
thank you for your comment, i don't get how anyone can sit in a church the size of a stadium? that would feel weird to me, but i'm glad you explained the back story, now it makes even more sense why people took this personally. so he didn't need the mayor to tell him to open his doors before, but now he does? it seems like he's gotten way to comfortable with his new found fame and WEALTH.
lovelyti2002 Hey Ti!! Yeah he has gotten way comfortable. I remember when he used to be humble too but he and his wife have let the world go to their heads.
lovelyti2002, I always freak out when you reply to my comments! So thank you for responding. It's funny sitting in a church that large. To me, it was already strange enough in the 8,000 seat church because I grew up in a small Methodist church with a congregation of less than 100 on most Sundays. But somehow the 8,000 seat Lakewood still felt like a church. When I got to the new building (the old Summit/Compaq Center/home of the Houston Rockets), the thing that bothered me most was that the church didn't have an altar anymore - just a stage area. It felt like they bought and redesigned the place with their TV broadcast in mind above everything else. I could be wrong, but that's what it felt like to me. No problem on explaining the back story. I am older than most of your tea sippers probably. I'm 40. And if any of your Houston area subbies are my age and older they might remember what I'm talking about. Osteen certainly didn't need the mayor's permission during the flooding that I mentioned. He MIGHT need it now because of the size of the building, and Lakewood might still be paying on the building (I think that they leased it/or are leasing it from the city, but don't quote me on that). I THINK that his family owned the 8,000 seat church that I used to attend, so that MIGHT account for a difference in how he handled things this time. I don't know. I won't put anything past anybody. I always actually had a decent feeling about Joel Osteen, but something about his wife - Victoria - was always cold and off-putting to me.
ti bivens That was tropical storm Alison in 2001. I was down there visiting my dad when it happened and him and his chirch were the first ones to come help us. They had food, clothing, blankets and everything so I too can verify this.
T.I. usually says some shit to make you think but because of his situations people don't like to listen to his actual words and the message he's giving. And he's usual over articulate when wording things. Lol
I think it happened around 2005. Joel and wife were onboard a plane. While the plane was still on the runway. The flight attendant, who was black, instructs her to do something or put something away (can't recall). Joel's wife gets upset and demands to see flight's attendant superior, gesturing toward white flight attendant. The flight attendant tells wife, I am the head flight attendant. Wife gets even more upset and is yelling at the flight attendant and slaps her. Flight attendant filed a civil law suit against wife. Joel lies on the stand and said he didn't see it happen, although he was sitting right beside wife.
I'm glad he finally open the doors too but mosques & synagogues had their doors open day one. His excuse was a lie. His face was a lie. He was smiling talking about a serious subject. It was like he had to put his show face on. I'm happy people came to help out the goodness of their heart. This is going to be a long recovery for Texas.
Mark 10:25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Seeing that Joel Osteen became rich by using God, he has a lot of explaining to do.
Is it just me....or did Joel Osteen seem somewhat enraged under the surface of that fake-made-for-tv act he put on for the cam? Idk, maybe I'm looking at it too deep lol. Regardless, I'm glad those people have a safe place to go. God bless em.
deyo james just because it's not on paper for you to see it happened. I keep up with the things in my community. I could give you long list of the devils out there but you probably would ask some stupid shit like do I have proof. People are so they are believe them when they show you. The great Mya Angelo...
I am not necessarily taking up for him, but at the same time people need to remember that during Hurricane Katrina, there were rapes and murders that happened in the dome where it was a free-for-all for people to stay in. With all the kind of crazy people that are around, you have to be fully staffed and also know what you're getting yourself into as soon as you open the door. We live in a sue happy society and if somebody breaks a toenail in that church, The church will be sued. The same people who ran out there to make it to the church and expose it, I have to question how much they actually do for everyone else. People are getting off the main focus point which is the doors are open now and people are getting helped. It took everybody by surprise, the church included. And I'm sorry I can't get on the side of TI either. You know so much about the Bible and get you were a freaking swinger and cheating on your wife. Everything that comes out of his mouth is garbage to me and so I'm not feeling it. Let's keep praying for Houston, and not get distracted because one person is not perfect. I'm tired of Christians being judged by the same people that tell us not to judge. Most of those same people wouldn't go to his church on a dry day let alone during a flood. It's open now. Move forward and keep helping each other.
To be honest people will find any and every excuse not to believe in God ..bash Christianity and God until there's a flood.. then they want the church doors have to be open..my heart goes out to the victims of the flood
I'm in Houston and I've seen first-hand how many people have been affected by this storm. I've seen piles of furniture outside of homes, I've been without diapers for my baby, and I've given back by volunteering. With all that being said, why are we all in line to talk about Pastor Osteen without examining our own hearts to see if we have or are willing to give of ourselves! Nobody is perfect, especially not ministers, but what should matter is that regardless of when and how he chose to run his church, he opened it and helped. During times of crisis we must not see the worst in people, but look deeper and see the compassion that this tragedy has brought out of most of us. Stay positive! We do not need anything else to upset our city! 🙏🙏🙏
Amaze Jax I guess people dont understand all the money joe olsteen would have to come out of pocket ,or him not being compensated by the government-people anything could happen at this church fr he has to give up food water supplies etc could be sued if sumn goes wrong but people keep coming at him being evil for no reason hating on a preacher for what?
As a Christian, who works in Missions, I think churches should pay taxes. To deter people like him and the fact that churches are heavily involved in politics. Which they are not supposed to since they do not pay taxes.
Churches should get more involved in politics. My church hosted an election night and invited all UK parties to send a rep to talk about their manifestos so that members could make an informed choice.I had a look at historical theology church history and churches should not be politically blind.
Jesse the Smartass. I completely understand concerns. My thing is that politics is something that church folk should get involved in at every level(it does not have to be church backed) Just as an individual. Because the "church" is the people not the building. If the current government actions and laws are negatively impacting the congregation, wider community or world etc the Pastor should mention it. Yeah I heard about the whole its God's will. The white evangelicals (majority female vote) who gave trump the presidency they are gonna learn the hard way. When the Israelites got their freedom, they demanded a King to lead them and chose Saul. Saul became a tyrant and they soon regretted choosing him. Will American voters who voted trump regret it?. The Catholic Church was non government aligned - then it became the Roman Catholic church state approved, the seat of the Pope became a major political seat and people would kill for the position (read book The Bad Popes - free google books kindle etc) Politics and religion can work depending upon the heart of man. Bless - Any books on this let me know as I am into this topic at the mo.
God Blessed Abraham, Issac and Jacob, He blessed Job, Solomon, David, . Obviously many don't study the Word of God, let alone OPEN IT!!!! IITimothy 2:14. Found in the New Testament. That's a start for you!!😉
Anyone else notice there wasn't ANY rescued people at the church? it was hundreds of church members Joel called 'volunteers'... He even had the church members line up their vehicles to make it look like people where "lining up". Joel opened the churches doors to its members, not evacuees.
I agree with Ti 💯 Joel Osteen didn't do it because of his love for God or his brothers or sisters he did it because To made him look like the shit he is God wants you to do things from your heart not because u get a wake up call from samone else but from your heart many Christian who ack this why are in hell you don't do the will of god
I'm a Christian and I don't give money to every homeless man I see..because it's not feasible and if I did that I could possibly end up homeless myself.. pls think before you type.. Bring a Christian does not mean mindlessly giving away everything you have
Bonga Ntombela thank ture but not only give to homeless this right tlks about ppl who have it iam not say give your weekly pay check help your bother and sisters in need Joel Osteen tasks was to help these ppl you have a place the you could in let them stay before you know hurricane coming open the house of God and FYI you need to think before you text anything to me because if you need help reading our understanding then read your Bible that's were knowledge is
OnlyTrueKing and don't forget...every single dollar he scams out of people is TAX FREE!! He's a crook, a wolf in sheep's clothing. He's not a "man of God". He nothing more that a shameless snake oil salesman telling his flock that is they "sow seeds of prosperity" by giving money to him, they will be wealthy like him. I'm giving him the serious side eye.
That's why I give zero fucks about these churches. My grandmother was sick with cancer and a loyal parishioner contributing a percentage of her small pension regularly. However when she was diagnosed, which they knew of, where were they! Upset because she stop giving, no damn lie! Whilst they continue to expand across the country, Jamaica and internationally. Ppl, audit your churches, request for itemisation of their spends because if a reasonable amount is not returning to your community, stop donating and going. Stop funding their lavish lifestyle and hold them accountable.
its that he lied about the church being flooded when it wasnt. It's just something about his grin it seems very sinister . Yes TI I have my tin hat on .
I'm glad he took the time to open his doors. All this extra mess is unnecessary because I wouldn't want to have people in my house and I'm ill prepared. There has to be Order in a House of Order.
My thing is there are 12-15 mega churches in Houston but he was the only one that got a lot of flack. I was told that Abundant Life Cathedral who has a black pastor and is a mega church was not letting people in at first either because they were waiting to get all of their supplies in but people could not enter. Idk but I was in Houston in 2001 when it flooded due to Alison and Joel Osteen welcomed me and my family in with open arms. We lost everything and they were there for us so I know his heart.
Ashley Williams Yes he's a wonderful man I've been going to his church for 13 years he even baptised me when I was 6. Second Baptist church just stated that they weren't a shelter but no one's said a damn thing. I guess because Joel is so rich and successful there jumping on him but it's whatever God will handle it my pastor and church will prosper.
Morgan bailey no, that's not why people are dragging his dry ass. Maybe because he is supposed to be held to a higher calling for the people. All you excuse makers can come with a million reasons for it...wear them blinders!!!! 🙈
Poor people Stop giving money to false prophets. You have 3 jobs and are broke but you give your money to someone who has 70 million and lives in a 10 million mansion.WAKE UP.
I'm no Osteen fan, but that area is known to flood! The entire city was flooded, we could barely go around the corner. Why rescue someone from a flooded home to send them to a flooded shelter? I'm Houston born and raised, so I know what I'm talking about.
50-70 million?! I am Catholic, and my church is run by Franciscan Friars. They are the most humble, and amazing sweet people. They have very little personal possessions. How can any Christian give to a "church" where the "pastor" is a millionaire? Where do they think their money is going? We are trying to keep the lights on, and this guy....😞😒
minniemouze I am Catholic and I love my church with all these issues and every other religion has issues and problems too we're humans we're not God sorry to disappoint you hopefully you're living a really moral life from that judgement seat
I hope this serve as wake up call for many the true meaning of this man's heart. Joel Osteen is a prosperity pastor. He charm you with the right words, smile and make you feel good, so you can pull out those wallets to give big, so his family will be bless while you don't know if you have enough money to pay the light bill, your medicine or food. Osteen was pressure to open the church due to backlash. My question is this, where is the money that is collected each Sunday for mission and outreach? This is the time to use that money.
I'm sick of this story. First, I'm not a member of the church and I don't support him in anyway. I just have my opinion on the matter. There were other things to focus on besides this man and his church. I feel like if he didn't open his church that would be his choice for whatever reason and if it was a shady reason God would handle him. It's not my place to judge this man, expose him, or say horrible things. There were all types of pictures taken on different days and people saying different things. We don't know the truth. People take things and run with it not knowing the truth just to be on the bandwagon. Someone questioned why my church that I attend in Houston, because it's well known, and my pastor had already sent an email to his members saying that he offered to open the church and gym and the city told him no to let the people go to the shelters already in place. Our church is now a distribution and donation spot. You never know what goes on behind the scene. Sometimes it's best not to judge and move on with you life. Focus on the positive and go do something productive.
If he was planning to open the church up, he would have prepping and then informed the community about it. Joel Osteen is one of the biggest problem with humanity today.......greed and selfishness.
It just goes to show you all these people praising the lord but only have one lord and hes green. Its okay though his ass going straight to hell. What did the lord say its harder for a camel to make it through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to go to heaven.
1154cle Yep this comment explains why you shouldn't believe in these people with mega churches . My preachers says that all the time its hard for a rich man to get into heaven. I believe there was controversy earlier in the year or last year about him and his support of Donald Trump so major side eye to Joel Osteen. I don't understand people who pimp out churches for their own gain and the fact that he has a major following is crazy .
This is why I don't put too much stock in "churches" and "religion". I can have a perfectly good relationship with God, on my own- without the "church". He should have opened that church up to the people of Houston. Don't claim to serve the people in the name of God, but NOT HELP THOSE SAME PEOPLE.
I'm a faithful tea supper from Houston who is also involved in ministry(and Nigerian whoop!).i can tell you even with my church size, it takes a lot to run the church. Ministry is not possible without people.he spoke about how some leaders were affected as well. The video of the front of Lakewood was dry but their parking garage had some flooding. Could he have opened up sooner? Yes. But with a church that size you have to be careful. God forbid a kid ended up drowning or injured, he would've still received back lash. When he opened up the church ppl still weren't satisfied. I don't really keep up with Lakewood but I did notice how people who had the most to say were people who arent concerned about the church when the sky is blue and birds are chirping. A lot of ppl didn't wait for facts. They saw one thing and went with it. But God is the one who really knows Joel's heart and intentions. He's the one with the final say. But let's worry about what WE can do to make a change instead.
Beverly Iwu aint the church suppose to be sanctuary? U got ppl sitting on tops of roofs and u worried about how much it takes to run it? Fuck that!! This statement just told me its all about money. Fuck the ppl that are dying. Lets make sure we can pay the lights on. Gtfoh with bullshit! What is it God or gold! Smh
Mesha Smith what she's saying is that no it isn't his fault but.... somehow someway they'd still drag him and blame it on him. So, in a sense it's dam if you do and dam if you don't
Joel Olsteen was in the best place to have a Sunday service let the people pray while they was in that church he could have had Sunday prayer that morning for all those people that was in their church if he would open his doors
"Let's focus on the people." I love what you said. Very true. We need help, and I just want to say thank you so much for the support and bringing attention to this natural disaster Lovelyti. We truly appreciate that. ❤
a church like his has to have volunteers, and staff to volunteer. some of his staff had to be rescued from the flood. I'm in the Southeast are and trust he's not the only pastor who has a huge church. if you wanna come at him, you gotta come after the other churches that could've open. but it's funny to see ppl that I know who aren't Christians be so mad at him or don't even believe in Christianity. if he didn't even open that church that wouldve been just fine. I've seen my texans come together before it was open and afterwards. smh I'm not surprised though.we gotta move on and get my city back together and if you wanna donate be careful who you donate to. thank you for the support from everywhere. if you support and care you're a Texan to me. peace and love and God bless everyone!
flower child I understand what u are saying. I am in Flint and with our water crisis and the media being the way it is ppl outside of this area are always talkin like they got facts and usually only have a part of the story! There r ups and downs when a crisis hits and it is challenging before and long after national news takes an interest. U r rt about being careful who u donate to bcuz the ppl that need are not always the ones that get yur donations. Many many prayers for Houston rt now! It will take some time to get back to norm.
Thanks for the update...I am a Joel Osteen follower the message...Is important and at least Pastor OS teen& his entire family opened the doors in time of need
My sister is there and she sure is grateful. She feels the people dragging him should be on ground and understand the church decision. Nobody was prepared for this.
That's right y'all hold these people accountable and watch their attitude switch real quick! Sickening how long it took for this so called man of God to open his doors. He probably wouldn't have if he wasn't pushed to do so. It's time for these cornerstones of the community to step up and help.
I liked Him and would listen to him all the time. I would hear stuff, but you know how sometimes we don't really feed into it. After this situation I was disappointed in him. Then that interview he had with GMA he lied and contradicted his statements I really wasn't feeling him smh He really is only about money smh but I'm glad too that he finally decided to help out
i'm still trying to figure out, why anyone needs a church that seats 17k people?
iv'e never been to a mega church, and i don't think i would ever go.
something about that concept seems off, how can you personally get to know your church members and their specific spiritual needs, if you have over 17k people that attend your church? to me it seems like it's all about the money, and not actually about getting to know the members.
lovelyti2002 issa scam artist T.I... like t.d. Jakes and every other church.
I agree and you misspelled members

17k people = 17k seats = 17k worth of donations.. its all about the money.. they got bills..
Joel Osteen didn't want his church messed up. That's what it is. He was thinking about himself and how it would affect him and his bottom line.
ExcelAndBeExcellent Amen you hit the nail on the head. He said Damn you all not gonna tear my shit up like the dome during Katrina he probably would've been better off just saying it. These Damn Mega Pastors smdh.

I don't think T.I. has room to talk about someone else. I agree about his statements but, still.
It's shame that a matteress place opens up for shelter, before a CHURCH that's supposed to be the HOUSE OF THE LORD.
Regan Regail Acts 7.48-49
"Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?"
The mattress store owner is a Christian too, ya know? The church is the people, not a building. 😊
Regan Regail its his church.. he didn't have to open it
pollyanna said.... Nobody owns a church
Betsy and... Are Christians the only ones obligated to help society in a crisis? Did the synagogues and church of satan accept people in too?
Regan Regail and a mosque too
You mean to tell me the local mattress king opened their store as shelter and he couldn't?! ...come on, Joel 😒

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE W/ PASTOR OSTEEN & LAKEWOOD:
I used to be a member there. They needed some ACTION.
thank you for your comment, i don't get how anyone can sit in a church the size of a stadium? that would feel weird to me, but i'm glad you explained the back story, now it makes even more sense why people took this personally.
so he didn't need the mayor to tell him to open his doors before, but now he does? it seems like he's gotten way to comfortable with his new found fame and WEALTH.
lovelyti2002 He had a goal. Reading her comment makes me really feel it. You get more flies with honey...he mastered his evil plan.
lovelyti2002 Hey Ti!!
Joel Osteen looks like Ronald McDonald without makeup
Polly Mahone 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Damn 100 he does just a younger version lmfao
Polly Mahone he so damn creepy looking like. scary almost
plussizedbeauty ikr
lol.😁 He does
TI always got some shit to say. I'm just glad he was actually said something sensible this time.
Naee Naee same because whenever I see T.I in something he usually say something highly uneducated and ignorant lol
iiClassyOmq lol ikr but I guess he has his moments of wisdom
T.I. usually says some shit to make you think but because of his situations people don't like to listen to his actual words and the message he's giving. And he's usual over articulate when wording things. Lol
Naee Naee Right!
Naee Naee tm Ti commits adultery on his wife all the time but we continue to listen to him he is one of the biggest crooks
Even if the church gets messed up, they should have enough money to get it fixed up.
I worked with the lawyer that represented the woman that was slapped by Joel Osten's wife on the plane. After that I realized he was a liar.
Southern Sweets and Mexican Treats Whoa! I knew he was full of crap, but dang.
Southern Sweets and Mexican Treats She would've gotten slapped right back
I think it happened around 2005.
Southern Sweets and Mexican Treats say what
This is some tea!
Katice Harris exactly
Diana Diana why wouldn't his face be stuck like that if hes worth 70 mil. my face would be like that with all that money..😀
Joel Osteen was like hell nah yall not about to come up in here messing up my church. tf you thought?! lol he wrong😂
omg fr😂
Janell Nicole lol
Mark 10:25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Seeing that Joel Osteen became rich by using God, he has a lot of explaining to do.
You're Sweet and so do the millions of idiots who believe in him and made him rich in the first place. what are they gonna tell God?
Yo, those guys that went to the church had me in tears 😂
Lola Rew my husband and I kept rewinding that part .....we were on the floor...they were savages😂😂😂😂😂😂
Noralei Abrams Tyler Perry donated 250k to him.. 😒
The situation in Houston is bad, but #AllCitiesMatter
See how ridiculous that sounds
#HoustonLivesMatter!!!
Orange 13 Lmfaooo yesss 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
PYT what do you mean no one died, plenty of people have dies, and more than likely they will find more
PYT Did you just AllLivesMatter our flood?
He has armed guards now.
Know The Ledge Show wtf?! What man of God needs bodyguards?! He too crafty for me...like satan.
IF THAT'S THE CASE!!, because some of y'all will make - up a Lie in a HeartBeat. You would too if people are angry with you and threatened your life.
Patricia Lewis foh with the nonsense...Jesus never had bodyguards and was hated far more than this clown!
What happened to your videos trey
Know The Ledge Show armed gaurds? wtf!? what "supposed to be" man of god needs bodyguards?
The harvest is plenty but the workers are few. Be blessed and prayers for Texas.
I always thought about starting a church. Sound like a lucrative business.
sombodi200 same
sombodi200 It is. You dont have to pay taxes for any property you own in the name of religion
sombodi200 It is. All over the world
So you''re going start a church just because oh ok 🙄
L Ron Hubbard did it when his science fiction books weren't making money..He formed Scientology.
Is it just me....or did Joel Osteen seem somewhat enraged under the surface of that fake-made-for-tv act he put on for the cam? Idk, maybe I'm looking at it too deep lol. Regardless, I'm glad those people have a safe place to go. God bless em.
ρ я є т т у|fєαяѕ nope I saw it. He was trying way to hard to try and look positive. He was twitching...
I seen it to..and the elderly couple the news people interviewed in that church were actors..
I notice he was blinking a lot defending himself. That could mean he was lying
Even in death, Tupac preachers the damn truth!!! It's sad that it took guilt to let this so called Christan to open his church doors
This man donated millions of dollars to Trump campaign that should let you know what he thinks of you. .
Shelia Young do you have proof of that?
deyo james just because it's not on paper for you to see it happened. I keep up with the things in my community. I could give you long list of the devils out there but you probably would ask some stupid shit like do I have proof. People are so they are believe them when they show you. The great Mya Angelo...
I'm pretty sure that was just a rumor?
Shelia Young thats absolutely the agenda of these devils.
He has every right to do soo. Remember this is America!
NetSunJin preach 👏👏👏. He probably would've open the doors anyway.
To be honest people will find any and every excuse not to believe in God ..bash Christianity and God until there's a flood.. then they want the church doors have to be open..my heart goes out to the victims of the flood
So he shouldn't help innocent people because of bad apples?
Mega Pimp!! Now they know!!
Amaze Jax We need to get in on Osteens action. This guy OWNS a jet.
Amaze Jax it's HIS CHOICE ‼️
Tennille Alexander You must be one of his followers.
Tennille Alexander So that makes it right to leave babies and the elderly out in a flood?
Jesse the Smartass I agree
Bless - Any books on this let me know as I am into this topic at the mo.
moi
Tupac has s point though
God Blessed Abraham, Issac and Jacob, He blessed Job, Solomon, David, . Obviously many don't study the Word of God, let alone OPEN IT!!!! IITimothy 2:14. Found in the New Testament. That's a start for you!!😉
Churches need to be charged property tax now! They’ve been exempt for too long now!
Eternity With Christ Exactly
Miyu Venus Yamazato IT'S A BUSINESS!
Miyu Venus Yamazato 💯🎯
ALWAYS been a business!
CORONDI KINGSBERRY you are exactly right. google 501-c3 tax law allows american govt to control what churches preach as well.
I wouldn't be surprised if he relocated his church after this
Alvin Del Rey 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
He opened them doors because he got dragged. He not trying to ruin his reputation or loose his church members. That's why he opened them doors! 👊🏾
I saw T I on your thumb nail and I know he said some foolishness lol 😂 love you Ti
I comment before I watched
TLove23164 T Same💀💀
TLove23164 T I'm so sick of T.I he always doing this fake pro black/wokeness I wish he stfu and make his hood anthems..
TLove23164 T He sure did considering his ass was just caught up in adultery a few months ago. Adultery is a sin unto death. TI is a hypocrite.
Tymariyah Perry n. Nnnn
Anyone else notice there wasn't ANY rescued people at the church? it was hundreds of church members Joel called 'volunteers'... He even had the church members line up their vehicles to make it look like people where "lining up". Joel opened the churches doors to its members, not evacuees.
Caitlin Wolf wow never thought of that
I agree with Ti 💯 Joel Osteen didn't do it because of his love for God or his brothers or sisters he did it because To made him look like the shit he is God wants you to do things from your heart not because u get a wake up call from samone else but from your heart many Christian who ack this why are in hell you don't do the will of god
I'm a Christian and I don't give money to every homeless man I see..because it's not feasible and if I did that I could possibly end up homeless myself.. pls think before you type.. Bring a Christian does not mean mindlessly giving away everything you have
Bonga Ntombela thank ture but not only give to homeless this right tlks about ppl who have it iam not say give your weekly pay check help your bother and sisters in need Joel Osteen tasks was to help these ppl you have a place the you could in let them stay before you know hurricane coming open the house of God and FYI you need to think before you text anything to me because if you need help reading our understanding then read your Bible that's were knowledge is
Bonga Ntombela So opening up a church means giving everything you have? Joel has 3 mansions and his own jet, he ain't giving up shit
Joel Osteen said y'all got him fucked up. Y'all ain't bout to come in there and dirty up his church. Fuck Y'ALL thought. Tuhhh. Move Around! LMAO!
Carissa Allen lmfao
Carissa Allen Lol! 😂
💀😭
This comment made me laugh, then roll my eyes and shake my head, then laugh again. Smh. Move around! Lmao
Love that comment, made my day😂
its that he lied about the church being flooded when it wasnt. It's just something about his grin it seems very sinister . Yes TI I have my tin hat on .
I can't wait to read these comments....
In my opinion the churches should have been prepared and ready because they knew ahead of time that things could be bad. Just my my opinion.
How tf Did 27 People Watch This Video When Its Only Been Up For 22 Seconds? 😒
Shyra Monaee ummmmmm. Notification
Shyra Monaee Lol it says "4 views and 9 likes." Huh??
Girl we tea sippers never put our teacups down! 😂 we love our tea pippin hot!
Shyra Monaee
It's magickal. We love Ti (tea)
notification squad lol
I appreciate your balanced reporting on this story.
@ 9:22, Martha looks AMAZING for 83!!!! 💃
Joel I will give the benefit of the doubt. Only God can judge.
Personally I wouldn't go to some place knowing where I'm not welcome.
When you on the notification squad and Ti drops a video. I be on the click button like 👋🏾 👋🏾 girl. What we talking about today?
I'm glad he took the time to open his doors. All this extra mess is unnecessary because I wouldn't want to have people in my house and I'm ill prepared. There has to be Order in a House of Order.
Justice Justice no....she's saying that if she doesn't have all the necessary supplies to help in the first place, it would be a waste.
He's being roasted!!
Lola Rew white meat is always dry!!!! Like him!!😂😂😂😂
Mo G 😂😂😂
Mo G in that case, honey, I think you need to throw dirt on some OTHER names as well. Cause we ain't gone sit here and pick and choose.
I agree with TI and Tupac.
Did you see that interview? He don't want nobody in his church😂😂
I LOVE SEEING THE FAITHFUL BOOK HOLDERS DEFENDING JOEL...LOL.. Joel would have never stepped up if no-one dragged his ass. I LOVE how Tupac thought..
Loyalty 77 exactly
He hit it right on the nail with that Tupac video !
When we know better we do better.
Eternity With Christ true
Poor people Stop giving money to false prophets. You have 3 jobs and are broke but you give your money to someone who has 70 million and lives in a 10 million mansion.WAKE UP.
I'm no Osteen fan, but that area is known to flood! The entire city was flooded, we could barely go around the corner. Why rescue someone from a flooded home to send them to a flooded shelter? I'm Houston born and raised, so I know what I'm talking about.
wisecurls What you mean the entire city was flooded? I live in League City, Tx and we didn't get flooded at all!
Such LIES!!! You didn't turn them away. You never invited them in...
50-70 million?! I am Catholic, and my church is run by Franciscan Friars. They are the most humble, and amazing sweet people. They have very little personal possessions. How can any Christian give to a "church" where the "pastor" is a millionaire? Where do they think their money is going? We are trying to keep the lights on, and this guy....😞😒
cas4040 Catholics help out better than other Christians I know I grew up in Catholic school
cas4040 Catholics have major issues too and I want nothing to do with Catholicism.
molestation of little boys in the rcc... NO THANKS TO CATHOLISISM!!!!!!!!
Chicana Vasquez and every other church has the same problem please it's not a Catholic thing it's a disgusting man thing
minniemouze I am Catholic and I love my church with all these issues and every other religion has issues and problems too we're humans we're not God sorry to disappoint you hopefully you're living a really moral life from that judgement seat
I agree that he only opened his doors bc of the blacklash not bc of sympathy... thanks I was waiting on this video
Elisha Martin based on the video, he opened the doors after they were properly staffed. His words not mine
The biggest critics are those who do the least for anyone but themselves.
John Cole Preach....
Neya Will agree completely
PEOPLE!! His income comes from his books. None of it comes from the church.
If he was planning to open the church up, he would have prepping and then informed the community about it. Joel Osteen is one of the biggest problem with humanity today.......greed and selfishness.
Glad my grandmother taught me that if you CAN help, it's your RESPONSIBILITY to help.
It just goes to show you all these people praising the lord but only have one lord and hes green. Its okay though his ass going straight to hell. What did the lord say its harder for a camel to make it through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to go to heaven.
1154cle PREACH! !!!!!
1154cle... FACTS
Speak the truth
1154cle SO TRUE!!!!
This is why I don't put too much stock in "churches" and "religion". I can have a perfectly good relationship with God, on my own- without the "church". He should have opened that church up to the people of Houston. Don't claim to serve the people in the name of God, but NOT HELP THOSE SAME PEOPLE.
🎤Everybody haaates Joel🎶
Natalie White You know you are wrong for that!!!Cthu😁😁😁
You would think a church of that size would have a homeless shelter/crisis shelter as an auxiliary service. Does it?
Much is given much is expected. ....guess he forgot.
its a shame that social media had to shame a pastor into doing the right thing
His Church was the NBA HOUSTON ROCKETS old basketball arena! 22K person capacity.
Beverly Iwu so with everything going on the first thing you came up with was ..."would you come to church on a normal sunday" ....shame on you
Beverly Iwu preach sis!!!!
If they go there and someone dies as a result of the flood how can that be his fault? That makes no sense.
So, in a sense it's dam if you do and dam if you don't
wow I 'can't believe folks had to come for this multi-millionaire Pastor- who the folks in Houston made him wealthy ... SMH
Hi Ti, I'm sitting through this 8 minute ad. I love your videos, and I hope this helps. keep up the good work.
He wrong af fo dat
LaMar Finesse ikr u from h town I'm from boot and I got more heart
Bookie Austin no Im not
Ti said some things that hit home. Thank God he spoke up.
I'm glad God exposed him! Beware of false prophets!
Chelsea Boyd TD Jakes creflo dollar fake to .
Chelsea Boyd God doesn't expose people...
👏👏👏Yes!!! Glad I watched this!!!
a church like his has to have volunteers, and staff to volunteer. some of his staff had to be rescued from the flood.
I am glad that you did this
Church tea 😂😂
Thanks for the update...I am a Joel Osteen follower the message...Is important and at least Pastor OS teen& his entire family opened the doors in time of need
A wolf in sheeps clothing.
TI I was waiting for you to weigh in on this subject I really expect your opinions thanks for doing this.
He always creeped me out and just looks like the devil
To me 🤷♀️
mimi martin you're not the only one 😣😣😣.
mimi martin he does give me the creeps
mimi martin girl, I though I was the only one😶 that's why I stop watching his shit late night on sunday😓
YES!!!! Im so glad I'm not the only one thinking that. God forgive me, but I can't shake it.
Samehere. That evil grin. He smiles through all the lies he tells...
In the midst of everything going on here in Houston, i can count of your videos to put a smile on my face 😊
My question is, where is TD Jakes? Has he opened his church or was it flooded??
His church is not located in Houston, its located in Dallas Tx.
My sister is there and she sure is grateful. She feels the people dragging him should be on ground and understand the church decision. Nobody was prepared for this.
ok so he finally opened the church on Tuesday, but what about mfs who was drowning on Monday...? smh 🙀
RIGHT 100
I never really was a TI fan. Now I see him in a different light. I'm so glad he put him on blast.
Celebrity and preacher shouldn't even go together in the same sentence
That's right y'all hold these people accountable and watch their attitude switch real quick! Sickening how long it took for this so called man of God to open his doors. He probably wouldn't have if he wasn't pushed to do so. It's time for these cornerstones of the community to step up and help.
I liked Him and would listen to him all the time. I would hear stuff, but you know how sometimes we don't really feed into it. After this situation I was disappointed in him. Then that interview he had with GMA he lied and contradicted his statements I really wasn't feeling him smh He really is only about money smh but I'm glad too that he finally decided to help out
ur almost at 500k love!!! love u and keep doing what ur doing
I watched him on TV today and he looked soooooo uncomfortable. He didn't want to help..that's sad.
So true . as always ms Ti hit it on nail.
