So... Hear me out, the next 20 restaurants you do should be mom and pop local restaurants. Buy the whole menu. Get folks excited about supporting small businesses.
That's a fantastic idea! Sadly Delish is getting paid by these chain restaurants the profit for advertising. They wanna make money they wont support local businesses
@@shirinc8504 sadly tru 😕
Such a good idea
hi! we don't get paid by any restaurant, we love the idea of doing local restaurants!
@@delish but yet.....
As someone who works for panera i can assure you every single one of these dishes took them way longer than usual and they made sure they looked amazing
IKR LIKE THE OVERFLOWING BREADBOWLS AND BEAUTIFULLY SCULPTED SANDWICHES 😂😂
fr 💀
😂😂😂😂😂
Okay I’m a baker at Panera AND SHE HAS BEEN NAMING ALL THE BREAD WRONG!!😂😂 the ciabatta is focaccia and the sourdough is ciabatta.
As a former Panera employee the sandwiches NEVER were this put together or had this much meat 😭 they def took their time and adhered to the rules
I work there now😭😭😭 u speakin facts
why wouldnt you put a lot of meat lol. youre trying to save a big company money when they pay you minimum wage 😂
@@Jacob-zv7xw probably cause it takes extra time
@@Jacob-zv7xw ok
because she is doing the review and may be getting paid allegedly ..duuhhhh lol
Someone once told me Panera is “glorified hospital food” lol i havent been able to see it differently ever since now i just go for their green tea
I love hospital cafeteria food 😂
in connecticut, that would be Au Bon Pain. the 'other' panera. and in Hartford, ct. both the big hospitals, (Hartford hospital and St. Francis) have ABP's in them. fun fact, when the cafeteria is closed in both the hospitals, ABP is the only place you can get food. so yeah. 'hospital food.' I still eat it though.
Idk I've been to some hospitals with some amazing cafeterias.
Au Bon Pain used to operate in Cleveland Clinic Main Campus... Their lease expired so we now have Panera in their place... ugh
When you're Hospital serves a full on Turkey Dinner every Thanksgiving.... then Panera actually not what I would consider glorified hospital food. Cause sometimes the Hospitals in Oregon become a Legit Dinner option when you really don't want Red Lobster.
I've never seen that much turkey on one of their sandwiches, EVER. Obviously they tripled it for this video.
Plus on the chicken frontega they ALWAYS forget the basil & she had hella basil 😔
I have!
I think It depends on where u go
I miss Costco's turkey sandwiches. They've stopped making them since Covid19 started.
4 pieces of deli turkey are supposed to go on your sandwiches, trust me I work there :)
Let’s appreciate the fact that Julia takes a REAL bite when she eats a sandwich and NOT a cute “let’s do it for the camera” bite
Eating that bread will definitely add weight to ya lol. Just glad she's not on that binge eating nonsense.
@@ichoosemysanity6467 bestie its one time for a video its not like shes eating bread platters every day yawn
@@violetsdior I understand 👍
Nothing wrong with taking small bites either that’s just how some people eat
“Let’s appreciate the fact that…”
Stop saying “the fact” when stating a fact. Unless you’re trying to tell a lie, those words are completely redundant. You’re welcome.
Your entire comment sounds like what an AI comment generator would come up with. You’re basic af
Idea: Julia goes to these chains incognito and compares the quality when they don’t know she’s coming from Delish with a camera crew. Would be fun to see which chains are (& aren’t) consistent lol
Well, considering that NOTHING is cooked in the restaurant, PANERA would be pretty consistent. Only thing cooked in the bakery re the breads and pastries that arrive refrigerated or frozen to each stor
@Hotcakespancakes sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Panera is just another fast food chain.
@@gioch6409 although I totally get where you're going with that, a ton of people noticed that all of her sandwiches had WAY more meat and fillings than normal, so they probably wouldn't be as consistent as you're assuming.
Think UA-cam is not Delish’s only source of income, doing this will put them in a very bad position - loosing most of the cooperations with F&B businesses.
this is my formal apology for getting nearly 60% of the breads wrong, I would like to blame it on the frontega chicken sandwich for being so f**king delightful but it's really truly my fault
No apology necessary!!
Forgiven..... If that’s the worst thing you do, then you’re more than good. You are fun to watch so Thank you ☺️.
Ugh queen that’s the best sandwich!!! I go like once a week and get that and a spicy Thai salad
I hope you take some time to reflect on your actions
Love you! Stay real
Fun fact! People from St. Louis don’t even call it Panera. We say “Bread Co.” short for St. Louis Bread Co.
We call it Panera
I second that!
as long as you don't call it "Panera Bread" - can't stand that. It's just effing Panera.
@@joshgrumiaux6820 Panera Bread is the actual name
St louis people are just different period
My fiancée, who is a baker for Panera, is having an aneurysm over the wrong bread names. She's yelling at the TV. 😂
LMAO!! SAME! I work there as well and it almost hurt to hear her say every bread wrong lol lol
SAME LMAO I work there too
Me too! I used to work their. Driving me nuts
That frontega definitely foccacia 😂😂
Same I’m like what is happening.
I can’t believe Ana Sophia Robb quit acting and joined the Delish video team.
Omg ikr!
ik :(
The closest I've ever come to dropping my camera on a shoot was when Julia said, "It hit the dangly dang thing". 💀😂
I can’t imagine how many times you cracked up laughing behind the camera while you had to shoot for Tess and Julia
I legit had to spit my drink out I was laughing so hard! 😅😅
Did you play Cardi B on the way there🤣
We Stan Chelsea
The caprese sandwich is on the foccacia bread.
They made your sandwiches extra special bc they’re never lined up and filled so perfectly. That’s why you actually got full eating their sandwiches. Usually I would have to accompany my sandwich with a soup in a bread bowl and a salad to get full! Thank you for your descriptions, you’ve helped me make awesome choices! Love your videos!
My next visit green tea bread bowl soup chocolate chip cookie
You are not wrong. We have specific portions for each item, main one being 1.75ounces of meat on each half sandwich and half salad. 3.5 for a full salad. For our prices the portions should be doubled but corporate FREAKS out.
Unpopular Opinion: Panera drastically under pays their Bakers.
Yaaaas!! This!! Bakers arent even compt free food only $10 worth, but they make all the bread. Theyre also not allowed overtime but have to stay till all the bread is baked.
Wowww not cool
You also don’t get breaks unless you finish early. And they literally pay you crap especially since it was overnight. You get minimum wage that should’ve been for a day job. Branch I worked for was seriously shady. 🤷🏻♀️ aimed to please managers. Never again.
They under pay their staff in general tbh
@@brimarie1168 wow you would think for overnight they would get paid more. At least time and half min wage.
love Panera! they donated SO much to the food pantry I volunteered at
And most of their employees qualify for foodstamps and probably get food from that food pantry.
Julia is back missed her ❤
She should make her own alcoholic versions of Panera’s drinks and see how they turn out. :3
say no more
THIS
ughh i love that you don’t moan aggressively like other people when they try food
One sandwich that usually isn't on their menu, but they will make all year round, is the Sierra Turkey. It's served on asiago focaccia with deli turkey, mixed greens, onions and chipotle mayo. It's their best sandwich, no competition.
"Chips, Apple or Bread?" If only all of life's choices were that easy. (Bread, duh.)
The chips are good if you get the soup in a bread bowl.
nah hon, i’d go with chips 🍟🍟
Have all three
Chips.
“Would you like bread, chips, or apple as your side?”
“Apples chips”
🙄
That kitchen sink cookie is 1000 calories and I’m not joking. Insane.
!!!!! Omg that's like two moderate meals.
I mean as a treat it's fine but omg haha.
Looks good though!!! Just wish it was bigger.
I really wanna make oat cookies with marshmallows, crisps/chips, choco chips. 😋 Maybe nuts too for my family.
here for a good time, not a long time
The website says only 800, so I can get half a sandwich and make it pick two combo.
It isn’t if you *pretend* is isn’t
I worked at panera when it was first released and some of my coworkers would have like 5 in a day
I worked at Panera for one day. Yes, one day- and that was enough for me to quit.
spill 👨🏽💻
@@user-hu3xi3je2x a lady yelled at me that she wanted a box and I offered to put the pastries in the box for her and she yelled “can I just get a box I don’t understand what’s so complicated about that” and the person training me just left me at the window during the rush
@@kellyanne2642 Clients believe that because they pay $ 15 for a meal that gives them the right to be disrespectful to you, as if one is obliged to know and understand the mental idiots that they have inside their head that only they themselves understand
I worked their for 7 years in high school and in college and I don’t really know how I lasted that long lol
Why? MMB
The reason they visit chain restaurants as opposed to local small businesses is because viewers can probably find a location close by if they’re interested in trying some items on the menu.
Love the video! As a former Panera employee, the frontega and caprese are on focaccia and the baguettes are french bread not sourdough! Very common mistakes though :)
gah thank you for the catch!
@@JuliaSmith711 no problem :) they're so bomb though
As a former Panera employee my soul hurt listening to her say so many ingredients wrong 😭
Like bro it's not chipotle mayo on the bravo please have the menu with you lol
@@jice06 oh, but I did, and yet. I blacked it out. apologies, quarantine brain has got me all mixed up 😓
You guys always make a shitty, poor mental health kinda lockdown day better. Thanks Julia, thanks Chelsea, thanks Delish. All of your videos tbh. I love you guys 🙁❤️
I worked at Panera in high school and the frontega has always been the best. We got to take a bunch of food home at the end of the night and they would always donate the leftovers to shelters every night. Such a nostalgic post for me. The blondie they used to have were so good and the pumpkin muffies. They have gotten rid of a lot of my og favorites.
I really would love to see Keith from the Try Guys and Julia do a collaboration because they both have done whole menu item videos. That would be an amazing video to watch! The jokes alone would be golden!
Missed her like she was family... Seriously. Love from east Africa
Which country are u from Japan
I know all of this cost like three thousand dollars, Panera is so overpriced
Great comment FACTS
Dang so it costs a lot to eat thr..I'm just asking cus I never been but always wanted to..lol..everyone please stay safe and blessed much love from San Antonio TX
You ain’t never lied. The You Pick 2 is my shit, but I always spend like 18$ on a half of a sammich, and a cup of soup. And I continue to go back for more lol.
I'm guessing it gets comp'ed since she never says anything bad!
People who think Panera is overpriced must live in cheap cities. It's a great value for money where I live because I live downtown in a large city.
“Stump” is about the best name I’m ever heard for the centre of a bread bowl. Also, I can’t get over that she just bites the bread bowl like and apple. F*cling amazing ❤️
I think of that piece as the plug.
I will FOREVER stan their baked potato soup in a bread bowl! It's heaven!
I feel like our Panera doesn’t sell the potato soup anymore.
Stan?
Girl same, french onion soup for life
it's all i think about in the winter
This was highly anticipated. Loved every minute of it! The Flatbreads and the Bread Bowls are my favorite. And there's no shame in picking that bread bowl up and tearing right into it. I mean, how else are you supposed to eat it 🙄😉 ..... Thanks for this video, Julia and Chelsea! You two are just the best. And a special 'Congratulations' to Julia for becoming an adult 😜🤪😂👍🤟💛🖤
panera really acting like they don’t put one piece of meat in all their sandwiches 😫😫
I work there and we are supposed to put 1.75 ounces of meat per half. honestly isn't that much meat but its so the calories will be correct and they can make sure every sandwich is almost the same.
Better off going to Jersey Mikes, way more meat, more filling. Better prices too. I get full on half of a 6", and have another half for another meal. Panera fills you up on bread, not protein.
Arby’s by me is like that & they charge $6+ for just sandwich
panera is over priced hospital food.. ima still go tho
I'd throw a fit. I want a sandwich for the meats and cheeses not the bread....
When I order Panera for my family at lunchtime, I order the family meal with four sandwich halves, the chicken noodle soup, and the Caesar salad ... and I order one kitchen sink cookie to split three ways. This episode reminded me that I need to order from Panera tomorrow.
One of the Panera’s by me donates their baked goods to our church ⛪️
This video is about to be so helpful always wanted to try their food but never know what to even try and I trust Julia and delish to never fail me 🤞🏼😂
Julia is my favorite taste tester on UA-cam, primarily because she's honest, well spoken, and is so descriptive in her assessments. I'd love to see her review imported instant ramen from around the world.
As a Brit and a gluten free person, this video makes me so jealous 😂 That Mac and cheese, and the broccoli cheddar soup both look absolutely delicious 🤤
Makes me so happy that this series is back
Which country are u from Japan
Julia's nail game is always on point❤️
The Greek Goddess Cob Salad, HANDS DOWN the best salad on the menu. It’s so filling and when you get a baguette, you can use that to make an awesome sandwich.
The bacon Turkey bravo is my favorite and I can even remember when they changed the bread it was more sweet and had a sweet crust back like 10+ years ago. I watch your videos to really branch out and try new stuff at my fav places so I think you!
The fact that you didn’t eat any of the bagels....I’m not mad I’m just disappointed
Maybe bc Tess just did a bagel episode? lol
She already had enough to eat, she was just doing the food menu.
I know!! We'll have to go back and do just the bakery
She’s not a true fan.
@@Rock_star1620 Tess didn’t eat any bagels from Panera....if you were a “true fan” wouldn’t you know that????🤔
Perfect timing. Just made myself a homemade Buffalo chicken crunch wrap. Something to watch now!! Yay!
I love your dog ❤️
Mmm
I go to the Panera drive-through pretty regularly and I had no idea they had mac and cheese in a bread bowl! I love their mac and cheese and their grilled cheese sandwich and the Asian sesame chicken salad is my number one always!
I love watching your video. I have tried so many of Panera’s sandwiches because of you! 😋😋
Love Julia and love Panera Bread! Now I’m craving it 😭

Julia: *eats caprese salad sandwich* “it’s like a sandwich in salad form”
Me: ......😀 um yes that’s exactly what it is
Hahaha I love her
Except it's not. It's a salad in sandwich form. Caprese salad is already in salad form.
Loving she describing the food and put it in a beautiful scenario! 😫💘
Which country are u from Japan
LOOOVVEEE THIS!! More of Julia Tries Everything pls xx
Which country
I know this probably sounds dumb but I love the braid in her hair she looks absolutely adorable :-)
My solution: You get a you-pick-two with the Mac and cheese and the broccoli cheddar soup and then you get a separate bread bowl. Then you pour both things into the bread bowl. Then, you can get bites with just one or the other, and bites with both (and you also get the bread bowl)
Oh, you missed out on their lemon cookie... so good! And the prickly pear hibiscus cooler is my favorite 🙂
Aaah, this video gives me comfort to what was pre-covid. Can't wait till it's okay to go dine in at Panera's.
Thanks Julia, Chelsea and Delish for the video. =)
I love Panera. I wish there was one in Portland, OR walkable from downtown. Everytime I visit my family in other places, I go to Panera - it's like a tradition. lol
Julia has the best job ever man

I love Panera Bread! And everything you tasted looked delicious!.. I'm making a list of things I haven't tried yet and one of the bread bowls is at the top of the list!😋
omg yes shes finally back ive waited so long!

ST. LOUIS BREAD CO!!! Its still called that here in St. Louis.
I'm sorry. As soon as I posted this, "fun fact" explained everything. My daughter works there, still not tired of it!!

Exactly! We dont even have a Panera in STL!
The green tea
All of the food looks great! I've never had Panera.
It's great to see Julia back doing her thang!
It is too pricey and over rated
Last time I was at Panera was with my best friend Michelle. She passed away a couple weeks ago from complications of ALS. I miss her so much 😢💕

You are fantastic at doing these reviews 👍🏼
I'm not familiar with American chains because I'm not in America, but if there's like a cupcake chain that'd be really fun, especially if they do online delivery so that people can support their business during lockdowns.

I'm totally about mixing ALL pieces of the salad together so you get the best bite. I love that Julia does this

like focaccia being called ciabatta and ciabatta, sour dough😭😭
Yepp 🥴
DUDE FRRR I was like oh no
I try to always meet friends at Panera just so I can have the Autumn Squash Soup. It’s the best soup of all time. I get to have my soup and also some friend time haha The power went out last week and they let us eat our meal anyway.
Love you hun! You are getting me through stay at home order!

Their pumpkin soup, which they only offer for maybe two months out of the year, is one of the most delicious soups I've ever tasted in my life. Right up there with Cream of Cauliflower soup. 😋😋😋
“It hit the dangly dang” 😂😂😂
Why is Julia’s hair literally Elsa’s hair with Anna’s white strip? #queen
For the longest time I didnt know that white stripe is quite common. I always had one and never really liked it until I watched Frozen. Then I saw so many peoppe had it and it is actually a dominant gene. Makes me so happy. 🥰💛💛

@@jesses8015 Hello love
Is it just me or has Panera’s quality been declining for the past 10 years
I stopped after they discontinued their Asiago roast beef sandwich
I used to go in the early 2000's and there were so many good things on the menu they have removed since then. I went so much I had tried everything. It's not the same so I have never gone back 😥
I miss paradise bakery.
Loaded with more salt, too
Because people complain about how long it takes to make food and the cost of food that isnt seasonal. If you think about it like a business youll understand 😉
You are amazing Julia! Your nails look amazing. You are amazing Chelsea! We love you two so much everyone at Delish you all are amazing!
Yaay thank god julia is backk!! The queen is back!!
nooo you didn’t try the veggie mediterranean sandwich omg it’s sooo good.. and greek salad ugh it’s amazing
Same that’s my favorite
YES!! That is the absolute best!
I love that steak sandwich with a spicy mustard and the broccoli cheddar soup 🍜 so good.
A good ice green tea really is the best. You gave me a lot of laughs this episode, Julia. Thank you.
your mentions of highschool are funny to me bc there was a panera right by my highschool too! always had that yummy souflee for breakfast, and the carrot cake cupcake is amazing too
You should do an all bakery/breakfast episode at Panera too!
I can't wait to try many of these dishes!! By the way, prickly Pear doesn't taste like Pear. I think dragon fruit is a pretty good description.
Salad mixing is absolutely necessary! Even when I bring a premade salad home, I'll put it in a bigger bowl, so it's easier to mix. Every bite deserves to be equal, it's a true thing. This process carries on to anything with whip cream - from hot chocolate to blended smoothies - because of this, I never have whip in drinks. Unless every sip can have whip, I don't want it. Lastly, the hibiscus pear tea is 💯 my favorite tea, ever! I'll go out of my way to get a giant tea x2, so I can drink one immediately and save one for later. 😁
Thumbs up! I'm going to Panera this week for the broccoli cheddar soup bowl, never had it before but wow it looked great and I want some lol!
I love that you are letting your hair grow out! Beautiful!
Panera food NEVER LOOKS LIKE THIS
at my store this is exactly what it looks like😂
Looks like this at my Panera lol 😆
I work at panera this is how it all looks
I worked at Panera for over 2 years and never got tired of the food!
I do the same thing (order a side of bread with my bread bowl) And then I get butter, butter the bread and dip it in the soup. And drink green tea. pure bliss.
