Do you think its worth it to go intermodal or back to dollar general? I done dollar general as i posted before, but i don't know if i should go back to that account or do local intermodal.
It took you 2.5 hour to move it from the truck to the back room. Now consider that DG allocates about 40 hours to work each and all those individual cases (and the contents inside) from the back room to specific spot on the sales floor. It is a great opportunity to be able to spend 2.5 hours to unload your truck properly. Now imagine that you have a person telling you that you should be able to do it in an hour.
This looks a lot better than the way the family dollar account unloads and I imagine the backing is easier. The backing at family dollar stores can be a complete nightmare
@@chuckD87 I don't recall for sure since this video was from my last week before I moved on to other trucking adventurers. My memory is that if I spent less than 2 hours at a store I felt good about myself. At the same time I was well known for the guy who moved and unloaded slowly.
DG employees have fucked up attitudes, they have a power trip. We show up and they make the drivers wait over night to unload because the driver is early. They are jealous because we earn more than they do. DG account sucks big time. I got my experience now it's time to leave this POS account.
Yes what DC was it? they were always nice to me and always let me in i remember this one stop in AZ i forgot what city, but the girl let me unload which took me about 2.5 hrs also when i said I'd be done in 1hr or 2, she let me unload other places always let me unload when i got there early, i mean thats the goal.
not too much actually. I just get it enough around the plastic on the outside to pull it down it was rare I would even break through the plastic. I did lose a case of spaghetti sauce that fell off a roll taner one time
This is a relatively easy job compared actually having to work in a Dollar General Store! As a very physical person... you have the EASY MONEY. You don't mention the CONDITIONS that you encounter with many of these messes. You're damaging a LOT OF FRIEGHT! ... But, that's not entirely your fault. All shipments demonstrate a lack of organization at the warehouse- shocking from such a large organization. Get some more experience... ... you'll have more to convey. This looks a lot better than the way the family dollar account unloads and I imagine the backing is easier. The backing at family dollar stores can be a complete nightmare
Also how long did one store take? The average on family dollar seems to take around 3 hours per stop.
@@chuckD87 I don't recall for sure since this video was from my last week before I moved on to other trucking adventurers. My memory is that if I spent less than 2 hours at a store I felt good about myself. At the same time I was well known for the guy who moved and unloaded slowly.
@@chuckD87 As far as backing up goes some of the stories would really test you while others were a breeze. There were a lot of 45゚ blind sides.
i'm on this account right now and it's pure cancer. it's not difficult it's full blown aids.
mewkatlol what DC are you out of?
mewkatlol LMBO
I completely agree 😔
New driver here. Why is it a badd account?
And this is why a lot of our things are damaged.. dropping and kicking boxes
DG employees have fucked up attitudes, they have a power trip. We show up and they make the drivers wait over night to unload because the driver is early. They are jealous because we earn more than they do. DG account sucks big time. I got my experience now it's time to leave this POS account.
charles V what dc you run out of?
Yes what DC was it? they were always nice to me and always let me in i remember this one stop in AZ i forgot what city, but the girl let me unload which took me about 2.5 hrs also when i said I'd be done in 1hr or 2, she let me unload other places always let me unload when i got there early, i mean thats the goal.
You destroying the merchandise
not too much actually. I just get it enough around the plastic on the outside to pull it down it was rare I would even break through the plastic. I did lose a case of spaghetti sauce that fell off a roll taner one time
Hard pass from me
This is a relatively easy job compared actually having to work in a Dollar General Store!
Honestly... it's good people, like yourself, and some good employees that gets a menagerie like DG Corp. through times. Few and far between.
Gonna miss a few people at DG!
They don't appreciate us.
I was just doing what I was trained. Honestly idc cause I knew that gig was temporary. I haven't done it in 3 years. I filmed this my last week
