The on-going re-establishment of the encampment and sacred fire, which passed the 100-day mark Oct. 7 after it was razed in 2023 by federal officials, is to bring further worldwide attention to the now-illegal expropriation of lands there from 1969 onward to make the park, but which created a misguided make work scheme by collusion via Premier Louis Robichaud and Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, and displaced the entire Vautour family, and some 227 other families, from their ancestral lands as law-abiding Acadian Metis and Acadian citizens of N.B.
