Poor Rocko; first you tell her a scary bedtime story about aliens, and then she gets chased by a big horn sheep! She was still willing to protect you though, even with the scary bedtime story, lol. Good ol' Rocko, an hilarious character!
@@BlacqueJacqueShellacque_ Yeah I was thinking the same thing but she's definitely a great girl to have along. Kinda made me think about a JRT and sure enough I got TWO!! Boy & girl, siblings. They're awesome!!
12:17 Rocko is telling the story about her tense stand off with the Big Horn Ram .. including the details of what she would have done to the beast if it had tried to attack her human! You have a devoted friend there with a courageous heart.
Lol that last bark from Rocco when the sheep was running away is like "Yeah! You better run!" What a brave cutie standing up to someone 10 times her size. Simon, you're lucky she was there to protect you haha
That big horn would have given me a heart attack. Rocko was stellar how she barked at him. She is one of a kind! The ancient drawings and landscapes are incredible.🐕🐐
Rocko was ready to take on that Bighorn for you, Foresty. Don't want to think about it. Glad you are both safe. At the start of the video, I was laughing, but pretty soon it wasn't funny at all. Beautiful place though. We are a West Australian family who are devoted to your channel. You and Rocko are our favourite people. Stay safe, Simon.
@@guybeingaguyya it was actually the mini fox/coyote/wolf Rocko predator that sent Big Daddy into protect mode. They don't just butt. They'll stomp the hell out of a predator too, in a heart beat, and to Big daddy Rocko was the little trailblazer predatory canine and deemed a signifiant threat.
Hence forth I deem thee: ROCKO THE RAM SLAYER. You gotta love Rocko. Her "Hey! Back Off!" bark to another animal 8 times her size with horns no less is classic terrier. She put herself between Forest and that sheep. What a brave little fire cracker she is. Best investment you ever made Forest. Alarm system, heater, missile with teeth and best entertainment that money can't buy. What a buddy.
Just watched your collaborative video with Foresty Forest, and gave it a thumbs up, left a comment, and subscribed to your channel with the notification bell on. Like I said over there, you can't go wrong doing a collaborative video with Foresty. So glad that you guys were able to get together.
Wow. What an amazing adventure. My husband and I encountered bighorn sheep in Utah at Capital Reef. They are incredible. One minute they were facing us at the top of a cliff and seconds later they were 500 feet down in the canyon. There is no way you could escape them if they wanted to pursue you. Rocko wasn't going to back down, though. Love that little girl.
LORDY! What was more treacherous the big horn or fording that icy river so many times? Both! That art makes me feel like an ant in the scheme of the world.
Oh man, that was priceless. The ram was a surprise. Good old Rocko! Knows when the run like heck, but ready to stand her ground when y’all have your back to the wall. Glad you’re ok!
Priceless at 11:58 - "... I'm either going to get abducted by aliens, or #MeToo'd by a Big Horn sheep." Well said, Simon! You sound just like Steve Wallis.
Who knew? I live in the desert SW and did not know big horns would be so aggressive. Glad you and Rocko made it back. Glad she took out her frustration of not getting to bite the critter by attacking the rock later😅. Love the content and glad all ended well. Thx
8.5km in, 5:30min into the video, and I just have to say that I really adore your content, your philosophy, perspectives, you, and your dog. And the fact that you take the time to film, edit, produce and generously share such beautiful and top quality content- it's appreciated. Keep doing your stuff and being you. ❤from Aotearoa NZ
I've had a bighorn sheep chase my dog. Rocko might be the target. Utah is a good place to see mountain lions. They'll walk along the ridges looking down while following you and might choose to confront your dog but coyotes are the biggest threat to small dogs. Coyotes kill foxes on their territory all the time.
Big horn sheep see all dogs as predators. The sheep was not interested in Forest, but Rocko. I had a similar experience in Jasper / hiking in the Rockies. I was in a more populated area and a park official advised me to keep my dog in my vehicle and away from the big horns as they could all charge / trample my little Shitsu The sheep cannot differentiate between domestic dogs and coyotes or wolves. All are the same to them.
Aussie here, brilliant Simon. You bringing a whole lot of joy to many of us,stay free and well, thankyou, currently worshiping your content.Well done my man!
The sly humor from Foresty...#metoo...Skinny ant aliens...Glad you and Rocko were unharmed. Love how Rocko will just hang out in your jacket when needed. Thanks for taking us along.
Great video Forrest. Fearless little Rocko doing her best to defend you and barking like a dog several times her size - what a magic little friend you have there.
I was in this area just two weeks ago, what an amazing place! I was with a friend, telling him stories about the famous Foresty, and little did I know, you were around...🤭
Great video Mr. Forresty. When I worked at the park I had a conversation with a jack russell owner (operator), and he told me that in Africa that they now use russell's to fend off Lion's entering camp, adding that the ridgebacks just didn't have the tenacity. Please ...... don't tell Rocko ..... sshhhhh
That was refrigerator and blanket material you let get away, would have made damn good content, "Todays dinner is Big Horn Sheep from Utah, and afterwards we're gonna learn how to tan a hide to use as a blanket" .. Really, I'm glad You're ok... to take care of Rocko
This is an epic video. Wow. And I so love your sense of humor. I laughed out loud (after I was relieved to see you were safe) about your hash tag thing. You are one in a million, Foresty. Also thanks for introducing Louie. She is a breath of fresh air to watch too.

I'm a Utah native and I am so pleased you spend so much time here. (I consider you a local. Even if you're not.) Thank you for showcasing my little backyard. Stay safe out there!
I actually had a similar incident happened to me over 25 years ago out west. I was hiking with my first dog, my buddy Mitch, a golden retriever. Luckily I was able to find a good defensive position, and a large stick, and proceeded to scream and pound like a madman and charge the ram. He must have thought I was crazy, cuz he just stared at me for a while and just ambled back to where he was before. Just a heads up, animals in rut are difficult to deal with, they are a lot stronger than we are. But sometimes, acting like an absolute unafraid idiot, causes most of them to pause. Your mileage may vary. If you are hiking in the outback, and there are animals bigger than you, carry your bear spray. It is simply a means to find a non-violent conclusion. Just a thought.
The first few seconds at the beginning looked like a murder mystery. I thought by mistake I clicked on 48 hours. Your videos are awesome. You are so lucky to live your life like this. Stay safe and blessed.
