  • Here is the 2021 Audi RS5 Sportback. I Review the Audi RS5 Sportback and take you through my thoughts on if the Audi RS5 Sportback is majestic or a bit numb. The Audi RS5 Sportback is a great car with its 2.9 v6 turbo engine producing 450 ps and delivering 3.9 seconds to 62mph. Theres no doubt the Audi RS5 Sportback is a great car on paper but how does it drive. I hope you enjoy my review.

    I really liked the bumper and dash cam clips with the turning and acceleration. You should add more of these to your videos. The POV touches are a nice touch when you're trying to convey how something really goes up the road. Also, I can't wait for the market to come down on these. I really want a B9 RS5, but I can't justify the high price tag on them. 50k US, used, I could go for. But they're still around 70k used and 100k after taxes from new; which is just ridiculous. I'm now based in Montana, so this is the perfect one car garage for me. But until prices come down, I'll continue sliding my Abarth 124 on the icy bits like a mad man (too much fun for my own good).

    You know me stef with Audi.. i love them!! The RS5 is undoubtedly very cool... 750kg is insane especially being quattro which does add a considerable amount of weight.. but i honestly feel like it lacks alot of personality compared to the previous generation and like to like cars now... i still love the differences they have done example how audi decided to introduce 8 spd ZF.. Great review as always stef!!🙌🙌🙌💥

    I agree with you about lack of driver involvement, my TT Roadster does everything pretty well without any of the excitement that I got from the Porsche Boxster

    As a Vorsprung model it does have adaptive suspension as standard 8.05

  • @Corwin74
    @Corwin74 2 роки тому

    In the US, you can spec the dynamic suspension and dynamic steering options which SHOULD help with the blandish steering feel of the RS5. The problem that introduces is that in Dynamic mode, the suspension is very, very stiff on less than ideal roads so it's for sure a trade-off.

    I wonder if more driver involvement keeps the driver more alert, awake to what's going on... or is that not necessary any more? I have an E60 BMW and it's definitely still driver centric, possibly only just compared to older models. Maybe we're becoming less the driver and more the passenger.
    Great video ending too... very art house 🎥

      Bought the 2022 RS5 sportback in panther black. As a car for the family, including the wife using it too, there are very few that provide exhilarating performance without the risk to family members. Most family/ sports sedans are moving in this direction, hence the pre dereliction fo cars from 10-15 years ago. Safety first, fizz tingling arousal from the drive, is reserved for the sports car nowadays. Or buy the tail happy rear wheel drive options c63, Quadrifoglio, m3. However even Joe Achilies is totally enamoured with the Xdrive m3 variant. I honestly believe a 2 car garage is now becoming a reality for gear heads. An RS5 (equivalent) for family stuff + performance. Pre-owned w204 c63, or most M3's for your adrenaline whip.

    I fully understand your last comment about _"predictability"_ and _"involvement"_ in a car.
    However. When I was in my 20's, I used to have an MG Midget. Basically it had zero weight on it's rear driven wheels so on wet days, especially when there were leaves on the road, going into a corner was always a case of, _"How much will the rear end give?"_ And it was always between quite a lot and lots. But the steering was really quick so it was always easy to catch the rear end wanting to go _off road._ Though the look on other drivers faces when you came around a corner at some 45 degrees to where you were supposed to be going was always amusing ;-))...
    But that was 35+ years ago... And _things_ change.
    Now I would, and do, want a car with some form of _built in predictability. _ But I still want to be able to overtake those two cars who I've been following on a twisty B road for the last 3 miles, as though it's a Sunday afternoon... Every day!!
    _Though I'd never buy one in green. And definitely not "that" green._ 🤢🤮BRG..? Maybe... Still, very doubtful.
    Good review though 8-))...

    Engine sounds sweet. Audi makes a great car and this one seems to be par for the course. No sense grouching about the grill, no one listens at the car manufacturers! And I always want to change the gears so Audis are no longer for me.

    The ‘RS’ badge associated with ‘comfortable’ ‘long distance cruiser’ ‘practical’. Are these attributes not better suited to an A8? If you reviewed this car without any link to S or RS it would be amazing surely? Comfortably numb describes many cars out there and not just Audi. Brands are trying to make every car they make appeal to every type of driver in all markets, all for maximum possible sales opportunities? Why not review the base models? After all, if these cars hit the spot dynamically, then the whole model line above is just a question of added specifications to suit your needs? 99% of car manufacturers suffer from the ‘fear of missing out’ rather than sticking to their original brand values. When everything is electric, how are these brands going to stand a chance of staying unique?

    It's a nice looking and sounding thing it's just a shame about Audi's plummeting reliability in the last decade.
