In North America this was one of the top songs in 1996 I think. It was on heavy rotation across radio stations. Especially in Canada. Brings back high school memories:)
Still a big fan of Sarah’s. I really enjoy it when she does more dance driven tracks but her ballads are absolutely heartbreaking. I’d totally recommend “Hold On” as a future reaction.
I've always loved this song by Sarah. And as a Canadian, I've always thought it helped me gain a better understanding of what it means to be Canadian. I know, it's a hard concept to describe fuily to non-Canadians. It just seems to me that this is the kind of song that only a Canadian could write and sing.
Sarah is a great songwriter. Her lyricism is so good. As I started rattling through my favorites of hers in my head I realized something: She's the Queen of the One-Word song title... Stupid, Forgiveness, Fallen, Adia, and Angel are all superb. The also great non-One Words: Full of Grace, Sweet Surrender, and Dirty Secrets rank right up there too.
Sarah is amazing - the whole package, singer/ songwriter and gifted musician!! And, if I may, I would suggest another equally incredible Canadian singer / songwriter - Alanis Morissette and the song IRONIC
This song is one of her gems co-written with Pierre Marchand. I don’t know who is responsible for the lyrics, but their handful of co-written songs tend to have a magical, mysterious lyric. As a literary device, what a neat play on the what should be a contradiction - you can’t build a mystery, after all; you build physical things - to illustrate the ludicrousness of someone working so hard to be emo and cool.
She writes all her songs by piano or guitar, but the Pierre guy helps with all the production mainly from what I remember. I’d literally pay 300 dollars for her full album reactions lol. Only three are incredible to me and still timeless. Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, Surfacing which this is from and Afterglow. Also Mirrorball is the most incredible live show I’ve ever seen surpassing all her studio versions by far! I think it’s on video too. I know she has tons of songwriting awards, but not sure if she’s in the songwriters hall of fame yet. She’s in the Canadian one though. This made my morning thank J!
Chills. Absolutely love this song by Sarah!

Did everyone forget how amazing she is or was it just me?
Love love love this song. It reminds me of my college years.
Yes! More Sarah please! These songs are the best...Possession, Sweet Surrender, Silence, and Fallen. My other favorite is Plenty, very underrated.

I was lucky enough to see her in concert 9 years ago and she was amazing!

I love quirky music-nerd observations like this! Joy Division are a great "one word song title" band
Possession!
Looove her! So stunning! Such ear candy! 👌🏼
I'd give 'Adia' and 'Sweet Surrender' a listen.
Adia is my favorite by her. I do like Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk also.
"Black" is one of my favorites by her! It's on her album "Solace" and "The X-Files: The Album (1998)".

You should see her lay this live.....it's even better.
Check out Sarah’s live stuff like Mirrorball. Her studio cuts are great but she’s even better live. So much more energy in the songs and performances.

Have you ever heard Walk on the Ocean by Toad The Wet Sprocket? Absolutely timeless and one of my favorites

Grimes - Player Of Games (Official Video) 7.6 MILL.....it is a metaphor of her an Elon Musk's relationship..it is a stunning video/song
How did you uploaded the video? YT doesn't have it I think they banned it.
Can you please do Adia!
Jann Arden, live shows are awesome too!!
The Mirrorball version of this song is way better
You should definitely try Adia !
