The HTVRont brand new Autopress was sent to me for this review and I am going over the things I like and don't like about this press. The press is not available just yet but they are doing a crowdfunding for this press with incentives for early crowd funders
You can find out more about that here
www.kickstarter.com/projects/...
Once the press is available to the general public I will add a link for that as well

This is the best review I have seen. You showed everything I needed to see to make my decision. Thank you!
I am so glad you were able to get one to review it for us. Great review 😊
I LOVE this press, I can't wait for it to be available to order! Thanks for doing the review!
This is an excellent, honest, and comprehensive review!
So glad to see people I follow were included in receiving the product for review. You are the 1st I've seen so far. I had already participated in the "Kickstarter" program for this heat press. Hopefully, the reviews they receive now will aid in making changes for the mass production in September. I have a swing-away with attachments but think this press will help "weekend crafters", like myself, in the long run. And, for a small fraction of the price of the new Cricut press, I'm willing to give it a try.
I think you will like it even with some of the down falls. It just takes some getting used to! :)
@@CorinneBlackstone yes ma'am, I think so too. 😎
You did a super job on this. I’m so glad you did this.
Thank you for a truly honest review. Hard to find them now a days, people just want the free items so they do good reviews no matter what. Again, Thank u
Thanks so much for your honest review, I was beginning to think this really did not exist. Still dont have a release date. Your review was great thanks
thank you for this. I was looking at it but I will rethink that. Great job.
Thank you for an honest review. I had seen a few and they were all high praises for the press. I was going to get one, but after doing more research this was not the one for me. I will keep looking for a larger press to use for bigger projects.
I bought this for myself at Christmas this year and I love it. This was a good video. Its a lot cheaper than the cricut heat press and its works just as good.
You mention not being able to get the collar of the shirt off the mat but what I did was lay my shirt on the tray then place my design then I used the bottom of thebtry as leverage on the back corners and drag the shirt straight back so the collar is off the tray.
I LOVE this press so far. The automatic press and release is amazing when doing large quantities.
I ordered mine should be here next week can't wait to try it out
I have a clamshell semi automatic press with a pull out drawer, as well as a Cricut Easy Press and I ordered this one. I can see some limitations but also feel it will be very useful. All you have to do is turn the shirt sideways and load it and no worries about the seams. What I like about it is not having to adjust my pressure if I want to do wood or glass or any item that will fit. Manually adjusting pressure can be a pain and sometimes uneven pressure can be a pain with the Easy Press, not to mention size. The Cricut auto press is only 12X15 and way overpriced at $1000. I'll likely use this quite a bit and since I was one of the first to pledge, the entire press including shipping was barely $200. If I get it and hate it, I'll be happy to admit it.
I am looking forward to this press. I do have to say that i have never had an issue with HTVRONT vinyl its always been easy for me to weed and never have had the vinyl rip
I just started using the vinyl and found it comes off better as a warm peel
Can’t wait for mine great review
Thank u for being completely honest
April 2023 - I ordered this heat press and was so excited to get it. The first time I plugged it in the Switch light kept flashing the entire time it was plugged in. I checked the FAQ and two other people said theirs did the same thing. I emailed the company and did not get a response. The first time I used it, it worked great for three items, but then it started to beep and the timer would not count down. We tried to reset it and also unplugged it. Nothing worked. I tried calling the company at the USA phone and a recording answered and said no one could take my call and then disconnected me. I tried emailing them again and still no response so it was returned to Amazon. Fortunately, I was still in the 30 day return period. When you can’t contact a company and receive no response from emails, that’s a problem. I just wanted to let individuals know as I would not want someone to have a problem and not be able to return it. Thanks for all of your videos and all of the information you share.
I was really interested in this press when I first saw the ads for it but I'm not a fan of the tiny space between the top and bottom platens. And now that I know it doesn't pull all the way out, that's a hard no for me. I do like the size but I decided to go with the 16x24 so I have the most space possible for larger projects. Thank you very much for the honest review of the press and the vinyl. I always wondered about their vinyl quality.
👏🏼👍🏼💖🤗
I've bought from their store many times and the quality of the vinyl is very good for me.🥰
This is the first time I’ve had an issue with their vinyl. I think it’s just the color honestly
I ordered it through crowdfunding primarily because it is drawer based and should be able to do thicker items that my clamshell can’t. Seemed to be a great price for drawer based. Not very mobile, but I would bet it is lighter than any other drawer based ones. A swing away also takes up way too much on the side. Looking forward to my Upcoming delivery.
Im in the kickstar list. I have an easy press from cricut and I'm looking for a professional heat press and this is a dream coming through.. I'm so excited.
I cannot wait to purchase mine.
Thank you for your honest review. I was concerned that you couldn’t adjust the pressure and I think you need that option if you press multiple blanks.
Thanks Corinne! I ordered mine on kickstarter. Just waiting to hear back to choose my color.
I have to say the mint one is really pretty in person I don’t think the camera really captured it
@@CorinneBlackstone I think the mint is gorgeous!
Your comments on the drawbacks to this are about the same as mine. However as one who doesn't use a heat press for a business and just as a home crafter I do think it gets the job done. They definitely need to make that drawer pull out further! That was my biggest piece of feedback. I did do I think two fed in the other way which was easier but still not super easy.... because if the extra bunches the wrong way it won't click in place. My next test was infusible in transfers on fabric/neoprene coasters and the auto button was definitely a good feature for that type of process. No button pushing just rotating product in and out...
How did you choose the color of the heat press ? I did the order but did not see how to pick the color o want.
@@ChocolateDaisyCreations you will get an email “survey” from HTVRONT verifying address and asking for your color selection when it’s time for shipping. :)
I decided to wait on getting it!
This was helpful! Thank you!
It’s sooo sticky! Omg. Thanks for the review!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Oh my gosh it’s horrible! I thought maybe it was just me
Excellent review Corinne; you are always very professional with your tutorials. Question: in your own experience, your projects are mostly more than 15 x 15? I have, at the moment, 9 x 13, and honestly, I didn't think it through when I purchased it; now, I want to have a bigger one, and I am thinking of a 16 x 24. I would like to hear your opinion.
16x24 is way larger than I would ever use I love my 15x15 it’s plenty big for what I do. But it really depends on what you press and make most
I'm soo waiting for this cuz I see the new cricut but tbh I'm sick of OVER paying for cricut when others companies make the same things cheaper I just bought a large heat press lk the cricut one its a fraction of price and works just as good and I got the dododum (I think it's that name ) mini tiny press for 25 bucks after seeing it compared to cricut one they even test how hot they are and they said only different was that when u put it down the thing u put it down on was a few ones heavier but u could get lots of colors u can't get in cricut and cheaper..im SOO happy circut has LOTS OF Competition cuz its great for all us on price finally
Try the fold technique for getting images centered. Bring the two edges/sides of the design together and then very lightly create a crease (not on the art but on carrier). Then use that crease line to align with center of collar. Art will always be centered on shirt
I do that all the time :) helps a ton
If you are having vinyl problems, try to roll the vinyl sheet off around a tube so it pulls evenly and a plastic plate on the revealed end to hold the fabric evenly.
Thank you do much for this video. my HTVRONT Auto press just arrived about a week ago. I have only taken it out of the box. I am super excited and nervous all together to use it. So this video helped so much. One question that I have is, since we cannot adjust the pressure, would adjusting the heat off set the unjustabke pressure or does that not matter? Pressure is Pressure?
No pressure is pressure
It’s now up and running I just bought one for Christmas 🤶
Does it look like they made the pull out drawer longer?
Thank you for your honest review! I enjoyed watching your video. Do you know if you can put a canvas frame on it to press hav?
The frame would be too thick but if you took the canvas off of it yes
Thank you for your honestly with your reviews! Did you test the HTVRont permanent vinyl? If so, what were your thoughts?
I haven’t use their permanent. I know a lot of people do like it though
Thank you for the video, it was great to see what your thoughts were. Also can you tell me where you got the “Turn Down for Walt” design ?
It’s from twiddy designs
I ordered one! I think also in your vids you should mention their cancellation policy. There is none 🤣
Corinne, I totally agree with you that the HTV is so sticky. Weeding is a pain. Any ideas for better HTV? I am not sure what to try. Great video. Thank You
I love love love Starcraft softflex www.143vinyl.com/softflex/?partner=196113
@@CorinneBlackstone I haev had good results with Siser EasyWeed too. Both it and the StarCraft are so buttery and handle detail well.
@@CorinneBlackstone Thank You. I will check it out. Thanks again for a GREAT review.
Yeah I agree. The bottom plate needs to come out more. When I first saw it way back on pre registration I noticed that as a possible issue but now I see it will be an issue. Hopefully they improve that before release. As well as add a pressure settings function
I agree
They did not improve the drawer I just got mine and now I regret it cause I can't get past collar so if I do sublimation I get a little ghosting from it
@@babygrl80817 put shirt sideways
I think I will be getting this press for the price to restart my small business back up.
It came out AMAZING and pressings go away at least it works great and a fraction of cricut
Thanks
Thank you for doing this review. I have been searching for a heat press to buy. I don’t think this one will work for me though. I don’t want to spend a lot of money right now since I am just starting on sublimation. I would like to at least get a 15x15. Is there a good one that you would recommend on Amazon?
This one would definitely be better then a cheap one on Amazon. If your gonna get a manual heat press get one from a reputable site
I’ve been researching a 15x15 as well and tbh this is the best I’ve found so far
Never heard of HTVRONT & have been burned on kickstarter a few times. I like the press & I would like it. But my previous experience on campaigns that basically stole my $$ makes me nervous
Ugh. Ordered through kickstarter but not sure I want it now. Yes, the price is good and not like I’d be throwing away $1k but it’s so huge. Not sure if I have anywhere to keep if I don’t use regularly.
I’m sure you will find a spot. It’s pretty big but honestly I think for the price it’s worth it
Nice video. I noticed that the platen shakes when it comes down, could that be a problem with sublimation?
I don’t think so. I did the sublimation print and it was perfect
I saw other videos and it looks like not all shake when they come down
@@heatherhommowun7964 interesting! I’ll have to check some others out. Mine shakes some I wouldn’t say a lot but just a bit
Are you able to open the shirt and slide it over the bottom plate, like you can with a normal clam shell type Press ? That's how I do mine my drawer doesn't pull out so I don't know if that in general on any press makes a difference, but It helps a whole lot with seams on a regular clam shell I just slide the top of the shirt over the part of the bottom plate that has the handle so I just have to remember the shirt is upside down when I go to put my print on :-)
No the bottom piece gets in the way of that and causes the shirt to move and bunch
Corinne, could you please try a different press with the fluorescent vinyl so we know if it was the vinyl? Thank you.
I won’t ever use that htv again, weeding it was a nightmare and after this my hand ended up breaking out in hives from the adhesive.
@@CorinneBlackstone I am so sorry to hear that. Thank you for letting me know.
I ordered one so I hope it’s great
What's the price?
Now I’m not sure if I want one. I need something that pulls out a little more. I’m a little shaky and my hand will a little to close
Looks a little difficult to get the image in the center
I’m looking at this machine for sublimation mostly and some have. I do a lot of ceramic sublimation. Would you recommend this machine for cutting boards, coasters?
I would say it would be fine for those types of items but I would always choose a clam shell over this.
@@CorinneBlackstone thank you for you input.
Corinne, by any chance did you happen to try a 2x tshirt in the press? Any way you can check to see if it will work and how to put it on the platen? The drawer is my only concern that it does not come out further. Thanks very much.
Yes it fits fine.
@@CorinneBlackstone Thank You so much for such a quick response. I greatly appreciate it. Again, great video.
It is possible to adjust that drawer to allow it to pull out lil further? I see a lot of burns w/current drawer. Also, it doesn’t appear to have enough space behind the drawer if pressing a hoodie. What is your opinion about that?
Nope that’s as far as the drawer pulls out. I really recommend just a regular clamshell press there is no need for a pull out drawer. I have never burned myself on my press without one
For £113 it's a damn bargain, can't wait to get mine...the cricut one is £899!
I wonder did you pre-press the shirt and if not maybe that's what caused issues with the upper vinyl sticking....?
I never pre press any shirts so I don’t think so. I’ve used my regular heat press tons and it never has issues and since the sticking issue was only toward the top it makes me think it’s the collar
@@CorinneBlackstone can you press a shirt in the opposite direction? With the neck at the bottom instead of at the top?
@@pristinabread there is more fabric from the base of the shirt that had to be shoved under the edge and it then didn’t want to click closed
Which StarCraft press do you own? I can definitely see limitations to this one especially for hoodies.
This is the one I have and I love it www.143vinyl.com/starcraft-heat-press-15x15-clam-shell-mint.html?partner=196113
i just found out about this press today, i am going to be buying some sorta heat press. i didnt like that the t shirts didnt fit or adjust pressure. can you tell me what brand you use and where to get it?
This is the one I have www.143vinyl.com/refurbished-starcraft-15-x-15-clam-shell-heat-press-mint.html?partner=196113
When the drawer is pushed in how much space is in the back and Can hoodies be done
There is not a ton of space I would say to do a hoodie you’ll need to have the hood hang over the part with the handle
If you see edges where paper was all you have to do is put a bigger sheet over and press it again for a short time...it is only because the outline of the paper that's left a wrinkle in the material
Repressing sublimation is not recommended. It will reactivate the ink and cause some fading. Also I never get the line on my real heat press.
Hi. What heat press do u recommend? I’m about to purchase one of these but I’m unsure now x
For the price right now if you want an auto press the HTVront is what I would go with amzn.to/3O9EqbG
Can you only use the press for t-shirts? Or can you use for sublimation coasters etc
You can use it to do coasters and other sublimation blanks
so.. no preheating of the shirt required (to get rid of any moisture or wrinkles)?
and.. no teflon sheet?
No I literally never preheat my shirts. And no I did not use Teflon
Can you tell me if it is suitable for the 240v Power supply in Australia & New Zealand
I don’t know. You would need to reach out to htvront for that question.
Corrine.. have you tried anything thicker like a slate ?
No I haven’t
I always remove the glue from Vinyl when it's hot and it's super fast. I have a problem but I want a heat press for a small business but I don't know if I should buy it.
I would but a real heat press like a clam shell style instead of this one
I would NEVER compare the cricut with this machine. Unfortunately, when you test the temperature on the cricut, it is not the same on the plate as it displays in the screen. A person with limitations on money can buy 5 HTVRONT with the cost of one cricut. As per the material, I've experience that DTF transfer works AMAZING with this machine, and the sublimation may be just a temperature and time adjustment. I wanted to love the Cricut, but with the cost and the issues I've encountered, I prefer this one
The Cricut AutoPress does not have a drawer; it's a clamshell. This thing does not open far enough to use pressing pillows and there are no pressure controls. I love that your review was so honest, and I am really disappointed in the gross design flaws. There needs to be an autopress that will be a viable alternative to the Cricut thing.
I would never pay $1K for cricut heat press which you have to register to work with cricut. I rather pay $1K for a Stahl heat press.
Actually, in the Cricut Facebook group, a lady was sayings how the easy press doesn't work for her due to arthritis. I was like “Maybe you can get a clamshell or swing away,” as I had seen on the video. Well, my comment was deleted and I was warned to keep the convo about Cricut only products. Maybe she was silently admitting that it’s not a clamshell, but a horrendously obscene cash-grab! 😉

What heat press would you recommend for sublimation without press marks
Get a clamshell. They are super reliable give great even pressure and heat. This is the one I have. www.143vinyl.com/refurbished-starcraft-15-x-15-clam-shell-heat-press-mint.html?partner=196113
Do you have to use a Teflon sheet, when pressing?
It should be used yes. I completely forgot it. I am so used to my press where I don't have to remember because its held with magnets
Wow, if your having an issue with the shirt seam, just imagine trying to press a hoodie 🤔 thanks for this review
That's what I'm wondering :(
All you have to do is to turn it sideways. I've seen other reviews that turn t shirts that way.
I cannot get the pressure on mine to work on ANYTHING. I have tried screens, low and high heat, siser vinyl etc. I purchased a cricut pressing pad, I also ordered a heat mat like on the bottom of a regular heat press. STILL doesn't adhere. Anything else I can try?
I would contact htvront directly
What about different vinyl applications that call for different pressures? Also are you limited to vinyl choice? I order from various places online that use Plastisol ink as well as cut our own HTV from Siser, Starcraft, as well as some generic options. Is there some kind of black magic that just knows?
There is no way to adjust the pressure which does lead to issues with other htv. Another reason I do not recommend this
You can put a pressing pillow, or some thinner cardboard. Like the usps mailing boxes, a tea towel. There are other things you can put in there to adjust your pressure! This is an absolute amazing press and it does heat up rather quickly. More quick than any other presses I've seen
Do you think you’ll ever be showing sublimation on glass but that auto press?
I would never ever sublimate on glass in a press like this, too much of a chance of it shattering
I love your videos, what if you were to put the shirt in with the neckline in at the front of the drawer instead of towards the inside? Just a thought.
You still have issues due to the fabric at the bottom of the shirt having to fit between the back of the press and the drawer
Can you center the design shirt on you table then place on press...don't think I could get it centered.
You maybe could I don’t like doing that because I find it shifts when I move it
Maybe yape it down with heat tape?
@@kathyfarley4922 that’s an option but the fact that I don’t have to do that with any of my other presses is a turn off for this press to me
Does anyone know how to clean the heat plate? I accidentally used the wrong material and One got melted on there
Let it warm up and press some copy paper a couple times. Easy off works too
Very pleasure to watch this video? The price is really attractive.
Hi! I’m looking to purchase a heat press. What heat press do you recommend?
This is the press I use and always recommend. www.143vinyl.com/starcraft-heat-press-15x15-clam-shell-mint.html?partner=196113
Thanks for the review maybe if you took the shirt off the press you may have been able to peel it off better with no damage. It's a good price, for those not liking it feel free to pay a grand for cricuts.
Perhaps maybe taking off would have worked but I wanted to do it just like I do with my other presses because I’m reality I would want this to work similarly to my clamshell and my swing away
How does this work on thick hoodies or denim?
It’s a little tough to get them on the platen
@@CorinneBlackstone thank you!
Does it work well with Tri Blends?
Works fine with them
Can the pressure be changed at all?
No there is no pressure adjustment
What brand printer do you print on?
I use epson printers
How’s the pressure setting on this heat press though?
It’s only one setting firm
Bummer about the vinyl! I just placed an order for their fluorescent:(
Honestly the rest of their stuff I really like it’s just the fluorescent that gave me issues
Have you tried a DTF or screen print with this press?
No. I don’t typically work in those mediums so I would have to purchase transfers
To avoid the collar issue - you could put the shirt on upside down...just remember to put design upside down too
It helps but it’s still not ideal as all the fabric from the bottom of the shirt is then bunched at the back of the press. It truly just needs some adjustments with the drawer pulling out further
@@CorinneBlackstone I do it and the top of the shirt just folds up off the back of the drawer...doesn't keep the drawer from closing
What's the maximum seconds it can press for ?
it can go up to 5 minutes
I like to know what the pressure is set at?
I’m assuming firm
How would it be for a hoodie??
It was a little tight. I turned it sideways and that helped
What kind of butcher paper do you use?
This is the paper I use amzn.to/45jRp0u
What is the highest temperature this goes to please
The max temp is 410 degrees Fahrenheit
@@CorinneBlackstone I've bought a blue one now from Amazon I took the plunge. Very good quality
I live in Brazil, how do I get a
I would check the htvront website and see if they ship there
Does it heat evenly
Yes
Can you just rotate the shirt going the other direction before pressing?
No. You then have all the fabric at the bottom of the shirt that needs to go under the edge or the other way the sleeves get in the way
Can you tell me how much the shipping was? On kickstarter it says “scroll down for estimates”, but I don’t see anything listed anywhere. Thanks!
I honestly do not know. I will reach out and see where that info is.
Shipping for US will be $60-$80. $60 is for standard speed and $80 will be for quicker speed.
You shouldn't HAVE to do this, but I wonder if you could add a longer drawer pull on the bottom to avoid that little bit under the heat plate? Do you think that would work when you click it back in?? Hmmmm
I’m not sure what you mean but if you mean making the pull out track longer no you can’t. Not the way it’s designed however I know htvront has taken my suggestions into play so the new ones may pull out further
@@CorinneBlackstone Awesome! Thank you :)
@@CorinneBlackstone sorry just for clarity - do you mean you think they will make changes to "the news ones" as in the next version or these that are still on kickstarter coming in Sept.?
@@heidifris4880 I think they will make the changes when they can make them. I don't know if they have produced the ones for the kickstarter people yet so I can't be sure.
I think the instructions are messed up because they are foreign and are not translated well into English. I got the Cricut Autopress, but I kickstarted this one too. I thought the plate came up a little more than this is showing. That is a little disappointing.
Oh absolutely they just made me laugh
A solution for the neckline issue is press the shirt the other way maybe.
then all the fabric at the bottom is pushed behind the drawer which still means I had to get it all back behind the drawer and there is not much room once you push the drawer in.
@@CorinneBlackstone I purchased one and I pressed a hoodie sideways.
Where can you buy it ?
You can get it here. It comes in a couple colors shrsl.com/3rk2u
Thank you so very much!
