The Carnage Symbiote storyline is a given DLC. The first game set up the City Never Sleeps DLC with those Black Cat missions, and now in this game, we have those Flame missions with Wraith that set up Cletus Kasady with the Carnage Symbiote.
the fact that we have gotten no dlc or updates regarding dlc reinforces the belief that this game was rushed. shoulda been delayed to add an extra 5-10 hours of gameplay and more time to work on dlc before the game dropped
I think after that hack they took a little time off because if they would announce something it wouldn't be a surprise. It still wont be part it won't be as fresh on people's mind.

I mean I think we all know the real reason we haven’t gotten a DLC now. Spider-Man 2 was obviously rushed out by Sony. They had all that time for the previous game, and that’s why is was longer (in my opinion story wise better) and already had DLC ready to go right after it’s release. Insomniac probably had barely even started on the DLC, and that’s why it’s taking so long
Sony is 100% having a showcase later this year. Don’t forget…the PS5 PRO is dropping as well later this year too, most likely during the holidays! I wouldn’t be surprised if the SM2 DLC is shadow drop, after the showcase. 🙏

The game has sold extremely well and they were clearly still doing something with it considering the files were still in the debug menu for the ng+ update. They are probably just taking their time and the hack they had definitely delayed things. I mean that delayed ng+ alone by several months do it likely had a larger impact on the dlc
If there is a showcased for later this year, my guess is that it'll be in October because that's when Spider-man 2 dropped last year. Imagine Insomniac drops a Spider-man DLC trailer, plus a Venom game trailer, and a Wolverine trailer on top of that.

My prediction is in September we get the PS5 pro announced along with visual enhancements for Spider-Man 2, like better ray tracing and then also the dlc. If Sony is planning to do a ps5 pro this year, surely they’d have a big hit like Spider-Man 2 to show off what the new hardware can do.
Exactly I just wish they would just fix the game and I heard they are supposed to tweak the gameplay/combat and add some new mechanics and add the free dlcs and stop focusing on suits that do nothing.
It honestly just feels like insomniac isnt as proud or excited about this game conpared to 2018. The marketing was almost non existent, they hardly talk about the game, its taking this long for DLC to come out if it even is coming out, Sony also bought them and definitely rushed them through the whole SM2 process. The only other time I can see DLC being announced for Spider-Man 2 would be in September if they do a showcase for the PS5 Pro. If it doesn't show up there, I don't think it will show up at all. Insomniac's schedule is probably all over the place right now due to the devastating leak last year and I think they're trying to focus on Wolverine and Spider-Man 3. PlayStation also is in a bine because of them cancelling most of their live service games that was supposed to come out this year and we only got Concord, Astro Bot, and Lego Horizon Adventures coming out. The PS5 Pro is coming out next year and they should be putting their sights on the fall for it. I hope we get DLC, but it's starting to look less likely.

I think the DLC will be announced whenever the showcase happens, but it will release late November/early December. This would be smarter as it would make Christmas sales go way up for the game, and if the DLC takes place in December they could make NYC snowy again so when people wanna play in the snowy NY they can swap to that DLC

Wouldn’t mind Spider-Carnage, but the Sensational Suit has been my most wanted Comic Suit for the longest time, and it’s infuriating that it’s just nothing more than a Spider-Bot.

For example: Upgrade 0% Swing-Assist by getting rid of that system, which tells the player when to let go... let us explore our physics with no limits to combine crazy experimentations. If we're going to face symbiote goons again in a DLC, or the freaking Beetle??? Whoever the freak it is. What I would want for a SM2 DLC is mainly a proper introduction to Cindy Moon. It's kinda weird how she only gets a 7 second cameo at the end of the game while Miles got a whole story arc in the first game. I'm hoping we learn her origin, where he mother is, if she's an only child and how her relationship with Miles and Peter will be shaped. If she gets her powers and has her personality and origin introduced in the next game it's to distract from the main story which will be taking down the Green Goblin. Letting us get to know her in DLC and giving her a spin-off game like Miles had will free up a lot of room for SM3 since we'll be playing as all three characters there.

Next update will be our first DLC story mission releasing September 21, it’s about Spider-Man trying to get back the stolen symbiote that Cletus Cassidy stole. But he won’t appear in this DLC though, the big bad of this DLC will be Beetle. Next story DLC is the 2nd one we’re getting on December 25th as a Christmas gift, maybe they’ll have plans for it to be free just like what GOW did with the Valhalla DLC. The main “big bad” of this DLC will be Chameleon. Now I’m not sure if this is the last story DLC or not but I know only that the main “big bad” will be Carnage. That all, have a good day.

See there's really only two villains possible for the dlc. Carnage and comeleon. Comeleon doesn't really fit for the dlc, and it would be better to be set up for the 3rd game. Carnage, tho fits the idea of being the dlc. In the first game, we had a black cat side mission and ended up getting a black cat dlc. And what do u know, we had an entire storyline for Carnage, not to mention a cletus Cassidy reference. Carnage dlc just seems to fit so well, especially when the main villain of the game was venom. That's just what I think, but even if we do get it, I think it'll be in like a year.
I feel like either Sony or Insomniac are punishing us for the leak they had. Which would make sense, someone spoiled the surprise and now everybody wants it and the hype is still here, but they keep pushing it back.

Hasn't most of the team been moved to wolverine. We've gotten sub par feature adding and mid suits added in a few months with the only DLC being shown from a major data leak doubting we will be getting the leaked stuff

I honestly dont buy that we're getting a big dlc, especially considering it was never previously announced unlike the first game. And also i feel people forget we're supposed to be getting a venom game next year akin to the Miles Morales release. So we expect them to release a big dlc, venom game next year and then wolverine the year after? A bit of an insane output to try and expect.
God of War Ragnarok Valhalla update was a free one. That's why they (almost) shadowdropped it. Will not be the case with Spider-Man 2, since they need people to actually buy the DLC. My guess is they just are taking their time to release a disappointment-less update.

Tbh; I don’t think we’ll get a DLC for the game cuz the hack and the major layoffs Insomniac went through as they already cancelled the Spider-Verse game and they’re working on Wolverine, so they probably scrapped this too along with the Venom game. And P.S: Despite the achievements the sequel received; the game itself is still disappointing that it made Rift Apart look like a great game 🤷🏻♂️

Instead of getting DLC in the game's ENTIRE FIRST year, we got changes to TASM 2's eye lenses, and the ability to swap metal arms for tendrils. LMFAO. Insomniac is done trying to impress us and it's crystal clear. The DLC you're waiting for either isn't coming, or it'll be WAY too little, way too late. Insomniac just turned into Beenox when they got tired of pumping out Spider-Man games every year. It was clear by Edge of Time and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie game, that they were tired and ready to pass the torch to the next studio we know that would unfortunately get to make these games.

Tendril colors to add would be blue and red right? You know for the red symbiote suit variants and for the blue anti venom suit variant?

And what do u know, we had an entire storyline for Carnage, not to mention a cletus Cassidy reference. Carnage dlc just seems to fit so well, especially when the main villain of the game was venom. That's just what I think, but even if we do get it, I think it'll be in like a year.
I feel like either Sony or Insomniac are punishing us for the leak they had. Which would make sense, someone spoiled the surprise and now everybody wants it and the hype is still here, but they keep pushing it back.

I honestly dont buy that we're getting a big dlc, especially considering it was never previously announced unlike the first game. And also i feel people forget we're supposed to be getting a venom game next year akin to the Miles Morales release. So we expect them to release a big dlc, venom game next year and then wolverine the year after? A bit of an insane output to try and expect.

God of War Ragnarok Valhalla update was a free one. That's why they (almost) shadowdropped it.
Will not be the case with Spider-Man 2, since they need people to actually buy the DLC.
My guess is they just are taking their time to release a disappointment-less update.

Tbh; I don’t think we’ll get a DLC for the game cuz the hack and the major layoffs Insomniac went through as they already cancelled the Spider-Verse game and they’re working on Wolverine, so they probably scrapped this too along with the Venom game.
And P.S: Despite the achievements the sequel received; the game itself is still disappointing that it made Rift Apart look like a great game 🤷🏻♂️

Instead of getting DLC in the game's ENTIRE FIRST year, we got changes to TASM 2's eye lenses, and the ability to swap metal arms for tendrils. LMFAO. Insomniac is done trying to impress us and it's crystal clear. The DLC you're waiting for either isn't coming, or it'll be WAY too little, way too late. Insomniac just turned into Beenox when they got tired of pumping out Spider-Man games every year. It was clear by Edge of Time and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie game, that they were tired and ready to pass the torch to the next studio we know that would unfortunately get to make these games.
