Lazy river not old man.i us to live in Grandville utica.when I come down that was on my bike I camp there sometimes I rent one of those cabines.its a nice area.
Hey can you put a link to your kickstand pad i have been looking for a good one for my 87 Honda Goldwing GL1,200 interstate everyone i have tried sinks down in the ground and isn't stable and i end up having to change my parking location
Hey, Jess... let me give you a tip. I grew up in a mining town up in northern Ontario, and did a LOT of cool and cold weather camping, as well as winter camping in as cold a -30 degrees. The sleeping bag is designed to be warmed up by your own body heat and then uses that to keep YOU warm. The more you wear INSIDE the sleeping bag, the less effective it becomes at doing it's job, because your body heat is not efficiently being transmitted to the bag. Ideally, you want to be dressed as thinly as possible inside the sleeping bag. I generally try to stick to no more than a pair of boxers or light athletic shorts and maybe a T-shirt... just enough to be decent if I have to get up at some point during the night. (Sometimes socks too, because I have icicle toes...) I also reccomend sleeping with your head out of the sleeping bag and wearing a knit watch cap to stop heat loss from your scalp; breathing the cool air will allow you to sleep better. Depending on how you're wired, sleeping next to the stream will have one of two outcomes. Either the white noise of the water running will have you sleeping like a baby, or it'll have you up ten times during the night needing to pee!
Exactly right. Always keep your "sleeping clothes" separate from everything else so they are perfectly dry. One layer of nice wooly (or cotton) sleeping layer will keep you warm to below zero even in an "average" winter bag. The least bit of perspiration in clothing will make you cold in a sleeping bag.
Also I would recommend wool socks and hot rocks. Just put a couple good rocks( smooth with no cracks) in the fire, put them in the sleeping bag 30 min before sleep. Gives you a head start on being warm.
Brings back memories of military field exercises and deployments. I used to put my (next day's) clothes in my sleeping bag with me so they'd be somewhat warm when I got dressed.
This is actually false and a myth that’s been debunked long ago. This is an old myth from the 70’s. The idea of a sleeping bag is to keep as much of your body heat as close to your body as possible. When you wear extra layers you are adding to the effectiveness by keeping more of your body heat as close to your body as possible. It’s just another layer of insulation before the sleeping bag to keep your body heat as close as possible. That’s why a lot of people wear long underwear and other close fitting clothes when in a sleeping bag.
Same cool camping spot. Go to a greenhouse and get some Super Chilli peppers and on 5 gallon pot some topsoil. Super easy to grow not to hot great with brats.
a woman who camp, pilots a dyna and drinks beer deserves all possible likes, congratulations on the video, I love watching this video. kisses from a Brazilian fan.
You are amazing. My heart jumped when you whipped out that hatchet. I thought you needed something a little heavier than the one you had in another video. Hope it serves you well for many years.
Great video thanks for taking us along. Oh a little trick for that kickstand pad. Tie a string on it so when you drop it and it bounces you can pull it and adjust. Then slip it over your handlebar so when you get on just use the string to retrieve it. Just something you might want to try. Works great for me.
Mark my words im 100 percent going to do a Motocamping trip this year, inspired by you! This always looks like such a great escape and that would be much needed right now.
Thanks for including some of the field production issue bloopers. I've done a fair amount of production but all alone and not as the "talent" as well. It's come a long ways in the last 20 years. I'm assembling my production package and getting ready to shoot test footage and do camera tests. I have no camping gear and honestly no intention of camping at this point, so tons of respect for you advancing through the process. Hope you got your coffee and made your appointment on time.
Love your camping videos! A suggestion for your kick stand pad? Most have hole for a string or cord, if not drill one. Use a small cord or string through the hole, make the cord like 3 or 4 feet long. Put a loop in the other end. When deploying the pad use the cord to place the pad exactly where you want, use your foot to adjust. Put the loop over your clutch lever. Went you getting ready to leave just grab the cord pull it up, wind the cord around the pad, stow it away in tank bag or where ever. I have a 4 inch piece of 1/4 inch thick piece of aluminum that use for my Goldwing. Just a use plastic kick stand puck for the Royal Enfield Himalayan. Hope this helps?
Yay! This is the type of video that made me a subscriber. Not that it has to be camping. Jush no bitching, no "nearly" click bait, and no trying to be an internet personality. Camping, even overnight is like motorcycle riding, climbing, kayaking, etc. is Zen. I would feel better about you being on your own if you would get a concealed carry license, get trained, and carry a firearm on your person. Thank you!
If you like the Sea To Summit Pad you should really check out their pillows as well. I have the Aeros Premium Pillow, and I sleep like a baby. It's almost more comfy than my memory foam pillow at home.
Hey, Jess. A very good video, like everyone else. Just to see the happy face you put on when you go camping with your Dyna, it's worth watching the videos. A greeting from Spain...
In certain situations, I too am like, "mfer! How am I going to get you back into that bag?" Even folding fitted bed sheets is a mess I don't want to deal with. Best wishes to us all.

Great video. Fires up Harley before 7 and says people are still sleeping. 😀 I doubt many were still sleeping. Most were cussing that badass gal on the Harley that rolled in just before dark. Can’t wait to do a camping trip this summer.

Looked great! I bought camping gear to go motocamping and ended up doing Hiking / Wildcamping however I will be taking my Harley camping this weekend for sure!! Atb - Damian 🍻
Jess you make it look sooo easy even though it takes a bit of time like you said because of filming. Thanks for all the tips on the gear that you use. You are so personable that is one of the reasons that I watch. And the content makes it feel like I already know you in person. Keep having fun and I'll keep watching. Stay safe out there.
Hi Jess, I love these overnight adventures, which begin with the scenic ride to a beautiful campsite by the river, so calming and relaxing. I can see that life goes on despite the pandemic!
Just a quick note, most axe & hatchet masks (that`s what the sheath is called for those) leave the poll (flat side opposite the sharp edge) exposed so thar they can be left on the tool during the pounding of stakes and such. This way if the tool bounces unexpectedly you are not spitting that sharp edge out of your teeth. Didn`t see if that Gerber was set up that way but if it is, I recommend leaving the edge covered during pounding. Great little overnight escape from the rat race! Thanks for sharing!
If you use a stuff sack for your sleeping bag you can fill it with a jacket or anything soft and then you can have a make shift pillow! Love your camping videos!
G'day, Jess! Well, another successful video to your library, another successful overnight camp. Kudos! For the whole time I've been following you, I had never understood what the little pack on your handlebars, lower than the speedo, was for! Cool idea to pack a kickstand block! (If you are ever caught short, a squashed beer-can/coke-can will be of good service) Went camping with the family 💙🌹💚over a 4-day weekend and we just got back yesterday (Monday) - cold, wet, and windy weather, yet a few drinks around a campfire certainly brought the old sense of humour back to the conversation. So, me. the wife, 2 of our 4 kids with partners and hangers-on, and 7 of our 9 grandkids... It certainly turned out to be a fantastic weekend with a bit of fishing, some board games, some 'social' drinking (stupid algorithm), lots of good food and nibbles, and lots and lots of fun! Stay well, stay safe, n' keep the shiny side up.🏍️🏍️🏍️ See you in the next video ❤️ Cheers
@@HerTwoWheels Yes, it was the best! About 6 weeks till our next camp, then our big trip in August. We'll see if coronavirus will screw us this year. We left on Aug 1 last year for a month-long trip - it ended 3 days later with massive lockdowns :-(
