When you put the bike in the tent always make sure its leaning away from your sleeping compartment, that way if it falls over it will fall away from you and not in at you.
You see the tarp over the bike for a shelter all the time, the photos always show the bike leaning in, the tarp needs to be on the right hand side of the bike not the leftthen if the bike falls it falls away from you, even when parking your bike next to your tent it needs to be leaning away.@@SandraOrtmann1976
I want to say THANK YOU!!! You and a few others have inspired my wife to start riding. She took the MSF course last week. Thank you again for showing women that they can ride.
Wow!!! Looks like you have the perfect set up to camp this year!!! I love the tent with the garage!!! I would absolutely get one of those if I was going out camping!! Can’t wait to see the dry run!!! Be safe!!!
I'm not sure if I missed it or it wasn't included but I didn't see a water filter or filtration system :) I like to have one wherever I'm going for extra peace of mind of fresh water or in the worst case scenario I'm in need of water. I keep it in the cookware I bring and I bring water purifier tablets as well. I rotate my gear every season or every other season just so I'm up to date on how to use everything I bring or if things need replacing for general maintenance :)
Hey Jess, a good informative video. Two things, firstly I get real passed about not being able to enter comps that are run in the US. The shipping cost alone doesn't allow for someone to win it when you live in Australia. Secondly, back in the day ( 70's ) if you went on a trip about the only thing you could take with you was a sleeping bag. All the gear you have shown weren't around and if it was you would need to tow a trailer or have someone drive a car. To say camping out was an adventure in itself was an understatement lol. Anyway I do like watching your videos, from Down Under.
Hi love your videos... Was thinking of one thing when I saw this, a game-changer for me this spring was that I bought a new sleeping bag a Sea to Summit SP1 I use that one with a extreme Reactor liner also from StS... they pack down to less than your sleep madrass and are together wam enough for -10 degrees C. so you will go from a Basketball to a softball ball :) Drive safe.
I’m still developing a camping plan. Motelling it currently. I just rode to Columbus and stopped at 3 Harley dealers there. Visited National Museum of the USAF in Dayton also. On my way home to ND. through Michigan Upper Peninsula now.
Looks like you you have pretty much everything covered. Nice secure and efficient pack set up on the bike too. You didn't mention it but don't forget a good tool kit for those longer road trips. Nothing worse than be stuck out in the middle of Bumblef*ck, Nowhere without a tool kit. (I'm sure you have one but just thought I'd mention it anyway.) Looking forward to the next instalment and you taking us along for your ride to NY. I'll jealously have to live vicariously through you. My riding buddies and I have gone down to Laconia, New Hampshire almost every June for Bike Week for the last 5 or 6 years. Unfortunately we weren't able to go last year due to COVID and it's looking like the same again this year. I'm really bummed. Anyway, ride safe and all the best from Nova Scotia 🇨🇦.
I’ve camped in that area for many years, there’s a Pete’s (formerly Peck’s) Market within a short walk from the campsite so you can buy groceries after you arrive.
I am so excited for babes ride out! It will be my first BRO and my first long distance solo trip. I am a little nervous and a lot excited. I kind of don’t know what to expect but I know it will be fun. I totally took notes during this video haha.
Funny, I'm packing for my 10 day trip and trying to figure out what I can fit. I don't have a fancy tent like that though :-) I did get this awesome micro inflator you'd dig. Look up "flex tail gear tiny pump". This this is awesome!
@@HerTwoWheels Yep! I got tired of the bag pump thing, or passing out blowing up the mattress. As soon as I saw you inflating your mattress in the video I was like "Oh, I have to share this" Your camping videos have inspired me to get back out and do my big moto camping trips again. Heading out Saturday for a 10 day trip up the coast and down the Sierras. Thanks You!
Hi Jess, just seen your video. Looks like you have everything ready for the trip. My first trip is this week. Honda cb650f, completed with shad luggage system. Thanks again. Mark. Scotland.
Nelson Riggs is a great company with outstanding customer service. I use a soft side cooler as my general road bag (clothes, food cooking gear) that mounts to my sissy bar and sits on the luggage rack and a duffle bag with tent, air mat and sleeping bags (2 light wieght ones) and other stuff mounts on the rear seat. Most stuff goes into gallon sized zip lock bags to keep it dry.
@@HerTwoWheels I bet lol trust I’m going to do the same thing next week when I go out lol I haven’t used my lone rider tent yet and first time using it I’m gonna stuff that bitch back in like a child lol

You should fill your air pump bag by shaking it and not blowing air into it because the whole idea is to keep the moisture from your breath out of the inside of your air mattress! ✌🏻😉
I’ve tried. The directions even tell you to add a breath or two into the bag. By the time the air is transferred into the pad, it is cooled and significantly less moisture
Great video. I’ve been debating about the Lone Riders tents. The ADV seems smaller and easier. The moto tent seems so much bigger and more difficult to setup. I see you chose the moto tent. Care to share your reasons? I saw your first video about each tent a couple times. However it doesn’t help me decide. Maybe you could do a pros and cons video.
Jess, have you weighed the you tent and loaded sissy bar bag together? I was just curious. I'm a larger rider, and am worried about overloading my bike.

@@Dar012208 Its a common mistake, see it all the time, a sleeping bag is no defense against 600lb of motorcycle
That is a very valuable tip. If I ever get a tent like that, I have to take this into account.

Good looking tent...Yes, all of it from Babes Ride Out, and don't be scared to make the video a bit longer then usual. Thank you Jess!!!
Great video, loved the out takes at the end. Had a chuckle...
My only suggestion would be to add a ground tarp for the tent. Otherwise it will get wet from morning dew, etc. Good vid.
