@@404cheeseburgernotfound5 I think the problem with the atlas is its just unrealistically huge. Like I know the next game is multiplayer, and I really want an actual 4 man sub. Because the cyclops says its made for 4 pilots but its more like 2 at best. But its hard to strike a balance between having a sub bigger then the cyclops, and not just having its size be redundant and inconvenient.

I do have an idea for a hypothetical subnautica game.
a large space ship meant for passenger transport crashed onto the planet 4546B. you wake up in a larger lifepod, with windows and more supplies. although the lifepod was designed for 5 people nobody was able to get on besides you. You are completely alone. as you look out the side window, which has been cracked, you see nothing but darkness. after your pda reboots into emergency mode your hud gets activated. “7581 meters” but luckily your fabricator has adjusted to the insane depth and you are able to make a strongly reinforced full body diving suit by salvaging scrap from your lifepod.
With the additional flashlight you found while searching the available storage, you exit through the bottom, since a portion of the lifepod is hanging over an underwater cliff. You use your flashlight and can’t see anything but the area around your lifepod. Searching around for materials one of the first things you’d want to make, is a night vision camera. It takes photos of what’s in front of you, then shows a brightened up image of what it is. It’s very helpful in locating things to eat. Since small fish are scarce. The scanner becomes infinitely more important as you have to scan things to know if they are edible, eating something that isn’t edible causes you to get sick and maybe die, and everything you haven’t scanned will be marked with a ???, besides anything manmade. your main source of food are mushrooms or other plantlife that the fabricator can make edible.
As you make more things via emergency power, which contains 500 power units. Your pda suggest making thermal power cells. And using other materials you are able to make an oxygen tank with 500 oxygen, soon after 1000 oxygen. so you can go deep and get the materials needed, which can be found at small lava pockets within the cave. But if oxygen isn’t the problem, what is? the deeper you go, and the more photos you take. you start to see what looks like the shape of giant creatures off in the distance. either fear consumes you and you head back, or you decide to go even further into the cave system. By going further and heading in the right direction. You’ll find the ship you ejected the lifepod from, the entrance it used to enter the caves collapsed, meaning you’ll have to leave the same way your lifepod went in. Through the void. which is full of adult ghost leviathans, and the new “elder ghost leviathan” which can see you no matter what. Meaning you can’t escape without A special vehicle.
by going in the ship, you can find the habitat builder, and new fragments, such as the drill , which is an immobile drill that can mine large chunks of material when placed close to them, but don’t make too much noise while drilling. you aren’t entirely alone afterall.
The cyclops and prawnsuit can also be crafted, but new modules or additions such as the bioreactor cell, which can be charged with nearby flora. and the thermal power cell, which you used a while back to charge your lifepod. The new flashlight arm attachment for the prawn suit, and even the quad arm module, which adds two more arm slots, which can be interchanged to fit the situation. the cyclops has a new Anti-sonar module, which when activated it makes the ship invisible to sonar, since many creatures have evolved to have eco location. and many, many more add-ons.
continuing to explore the ship, and getting oxygen via air pockets, you find it disturbing to have found no bodies, no skeletons. All the doors have been ripped open or damaged, passcodes are irrelevant, even if you got them right. Using the newly acquired tools you were given such as the laser cutter you are able to navigate your way to the captains quarters, you find that once you cut open the reinforced door that it’s gone, in fact a whole chunk was missing from that area, a large tooth would be found stuck in the metal. Scanning it reveals that it belongs to a baby gargantuan leviathan.
roars in the distance would be heard after you scanned it, so you were quick to leave the area. Exploring the ship wasn’t a total waste because you were able to scan a lot of great things. such as bioreactors, water filtration machines, floodlights, and all those vehicle parts. And with the new habitat builder your able to build a nice and sophisticated base, if you had the materials on hand. but after making a base and all the obtained vehicles, which have been pre installed with the depth module mk5. you begin to go on bigger explorations, and you would have likely found a new biome, other than the dark and quiet starting zone, you most likely would find the blood rivers. which is like the lost river, but instead of green fog. It’s a thick soupy maroon color.
going into it you can find new materials that help you get deeper into the cave system
Once you have acquired such materials you can make the depth module mk6 with allows you to enter the new deeper biomes, but before that. Another biome you’ll find in the upper levels of the caves is the glow kelp biome, Similar to the kelp forest, but it’s only residents are large jelly fish like creatures. The kelp gives off a white glow, which makes it easy to spot this biome. In this biome you can find many types of new outcrops, which can be found more efficiently by installing a scanner room nearby.
But deep in the caves, you can find the lava lake biome, but instead it actually consisting of lava it’s actually comprised of molten metals. Which is great because you can install a lava siphon that takes those molten metals and cools them down, then you can extract the material, which is mainly titanium, but on occasion you can get other materials. across the lava lake you will find an alien base, which is still powered via thermal power. Entering requires ion cubes found around. Crafting the tablets required you gain access to a warp gate which transports you deeper into the facility. Where you can find fauna such as the hover fish, peeper, bomerang, etc. all in alien aquarium-like containment rooms. You have the option to take some with you back to your base, but dropping them kills them due to the pressure. elsewhere in the facility shows research on the gargantuan leviathan, which the specimen being researched is located deep within the void. eggs were laid in the caves to act as a sort of nest. 2 eggs were laid, and you’ve only found one baby. Turns out the eggs were likely placed where the spaceship crashed in the cave. Killing one of the babies, the surviving leviathan then attacked the ship, flooding it more and removing bodies from the ship for food. this was all revealed by your pda using evidence found at the ship and the facility. Ion cube fabricators could be used to farm ion cubes, doing this let’s you get a bunch of ion batteries and power cells to upgrade your thermal and bioreactor cells, into the ion varieties.

using all of the knowledge and materials your pda suggests there is an entrance to an even deeper part of the cave, which leads to another alien facility at a marked location. going to it, you realize it’s a long way down, so you should probably invest in some mk7 depth modules. once you get to the bottom you find a gigantic cavern, entering it causes your pda to say “leviathan class organism detected. length 5 kilometers. do not proceed” proceeding anyways you hear the most ear shattering roar you would have ever heard in your entire life, your ears ring as the cyclops vibrates profusely. Once it’s over your pda suggest you keep the sonar shield and silent running features on at all costs. Otherwise you wouldn’t survive down here. the cavern is pitch black, you can only rely on your night vision camera and hud Marker to navigate, using the camera reveals how big this creature truly is. when the leviathan roars again it has the ability to shut of your silent running and sonar shields. sometimes shutting off the cyclops completely. and rarely even damage the hull 5%. after a few more ear shattering roars your pda. can trace the roar back to a gargantuan leviathan, which is presumed to be baby gargantuan leviathan that lost its sibling, but now a juvenile, and angry one too. If you are spotted it will eat your cyclops whole slowly crushing it as you are inside,
making it to the alien base undetected you make it to a large room. this large room contains many data terminals, a model of the gargantuan Leviathan, and an alien communication chip. Putting it into your hud you see a vision of the gargantuan leviathan, as it calls out to you. The voice is a female, confirming that the survivor was a female. It doesn’t want you to be alive, it assumes you killed her brother on purpose. but as you listen to your pda it suggests the roars you heard back at the crashed spaceship were actually the sound of a male, meaning the male baby actually survived,only having its birth delayed by the crash. the roars from the male were it trying to call out to its sister. Leaving the facility asap, you realize creatures that were once friendly have turned hostile, reasoning is that the gargantuan leviathan can manipulate other fauna into attacking other creatures. Another thing to look out for in these attacks, is that they can crack your oxygen tank open, draining more oxygen per second, the more cracks the more oxygen that gets used per second. You can repair it with a fabricator, every crack = 1 titanium to patch.
but avoid these attacks, and slowly gathering materials from the gargantuan leviathans cavern. you actually start to find alien blueprints down at the bottom of the cavern. Once you scan 8 of them you unlock the •||_-•|++=_-•..0-|-\/_• . Which your pda translates into “emergency evacuation vehicle” which is a missile shaped vehicle. That is used to rapidly go up to the surface faster than any void creature can. It has to be built somewhere where it can go up without any obstructions, aka the entrance of the cave. but you cannot do this yet because of the aggressive fauna, which will damage it. So you have to find a way to make the brother and sister leviathans find eachother, this requires one simple thing, gargantuan leviathan dna. The only way to get this is to get inside of the leviathans mouth using a prawn suit and drilling into its mouth tissue, grabbing the dna before you get crushed causes you to get spat back out into the water.
Using the dna you can craft the “gargantuan leviathan scent” which can be used to make one leviathan go to the other. Using a large entrance into the void as a meet up spot, putting the lure into your cyclops module spot, means it gets sprinkled into a trail that will follow the cyclops path, the only way to do this is to craft the newly acquired “invisibility module” which turns your cyclops invisible on the outside, combing the silent running, sonar shield and the invisibility module you can safely traverse the void, but it consumes a lot of power so you need to be fast. After you complete the trail you can now let them find trail on their own. Once it does after about a minute they will both meet up in the void halfway, the ghost Leviathans swim away as the brother and sister thank you for helping them, and they stop telling the fauna to attack you. Once they finish that the 2 will swim off into the void in search of the parents, which are definitely close by, since you start hearing even louder roars far far off into the distance.
Heading back To your base you gather materials to make the escape vehicle,
Once you complete this task, you are able to leave a time capsule with 6 slots. (Pre ordering the game allows you to use 12 slots) and this capsule works the exact same as the one in subnautica 1. Activating the rocket completely, you start the end custecene, the rocket launches with a count of 10, then it blasts off incredibly fast, your pda begins to note what depth you are currently at

As you launch out of the water your ion thrusters engage immediately, further launching you. You break atmosphere and leave the planet, returning to earth, 0 credits owed, since nobody else but you were able to go down into the cave, and nobody could prove you used the planets materials. You die old, maybe with thalassaphobia but at least you don’t owe altera money.

Imagine a Subnautica, where you don’t land in any kind of warm area or ice burg, instead, you sink thousands of meters down into a giant cave, which you must explore for recourses to make a vehicle that not only can leave the atmosphere, but can travel thousands of meters up and out of the void
Good idea for the mod or 4th subnautica
I hope the next one is called: Subnautica: Rock Bottom, and it takes place at the VERY bottom of Planet 4546B, you start in a crashed ship on the ocean floor, in an airtight compartment, the tools and base building would be the same, and you can’t go to the surface or you’ll get attacked by either Ghost Leviathans or Void chelicerates, or maybe something new, and there could be more alien bases down there, there are a lot of ways they could go with it.
I would actually play that
The pressure of the very bottom of planet 4546B would crush anything that goes down there

i hope the next one continues the protagonist of subnautica's story and he goes on a better ship and lands on the original planet they were heading too but something goes wrong and everyone dies and the protagonist is the lone survivor aka you

thing about the skinny prawn is it was perfectly designed to where you felt safe but also didn't at the same time.
So long as the environment where you would use that suit has such dangerous creatures that could chew you up and spit you out while in that suit then it would be okay.
What made Sub1 so good was that you never felt truly safe on your first playthroughs BECASUSE it was perfectly designed in every way.
If they intend to add more depth in the game they should make the concept of the Atlas submarine real

I rather have a larger more diverse bioms than cool lookiing water though. Maybe always changing bioms (like migrations) this would keep things interesting as building is my favorite part. It would be awesome to look outside the window and see different things as time goes on.
THIS is the game I’m looking forward to MOST!! Hope there are more and bigger biomes! Also certain depths for different submarines!! Would be cool if there were NPC’s you could maybe buy recources from or trade… i hope it’s ALL underwater.

I don't think the sensors you have access to are adequate to punch through the 8+ km of water well enough to find life further then let's say... 20 km away from the crater, it's all uncharted and unknown and there is plenty of room for life.
I'm hoping it's played in the void, possibly on oversized Leviathan that count as landmasses, and a giant eldritch-sized kraken at the very bottom, your goal being to eventually pacify it and get below it.

I hope they give us more insight to subnautica lore, oh, and add a loud growl sound whenever you enter the void, symbolizing that you aren’t wanted. And the growl belongs to the apex predator, the grand finisher of the sea, the one who lives in one place, the gargantuan leviathan
All i want are 3 things:
-Multiplayer (at least coop splitscreen)
-Sub specifically designed for multiplayer, and having at least 2 vehicle bays (kinda like the Atlas)
-a little variety of smaller subs/exosuits with unique functionality

I hope the story is more in line with the 1st game. More find as you search with light direction similar to the radio signals.
Also bring back the open areas with a more open and distinict final area like the lost river and lava zone. I wouldnt mind a trench like biome that goes to 1000m with multiple different cave systems at diffrent levels with unique fauna to boot and leads to a further 2500m below for the final area. (I hate the ocean btw but i loved the feeling of conquering something in the OG, below zero i ran through never feeling in danger once).
The first two games were unbelievably beautiful as they were. Can’t begin to imagine what the third will be like.

True. None of the leviathans felt scary. I think they did a bad decision of giving players perimeter defense system in the early middle of the game.

I'm not as enthusiastic about unreligion 5. Every game that is being made on it I have been shown I have a lot of problems. And considering the fact that people with good peasy setups are even now currently Having a lot of performance issues with the first two games. Just how many people are actually going to be able to play this game at launch. And considering that current Gen. Controls are having problems with current games coming out How can anyone possibly think that this game will run good and unreligion 5 unless it's literally 5 years out before it's gonna be released.
