    Thank god for these men and women who want to practice trauma medicine! My neighbor was a trauma director at a level one trauma center here in California. He is retired in his 70s and misses being a trauma surgeon. He loved helping people and fixing them when they were at their most sick and injured. He got a huge high from saving someone’s life and got numb to death as it was a part of his job that really sucked!

      Being a Trauma Surgeon/Nurse/EMT/Etc. is an unfair job in how staff are expected to save patients who have too many things wrong with them to have any sort of chance of survival, but still do their jobs to the best of their ability. It has to take a special breed of person, because I sure do not possess that sort of toughness!

    A trauma can be a real wreck after a trauma victem has been treated. Thanks for the janitor. If it was not for him, it would be difficult for the medical staff to perform their duties. Thank you very much, God bless you.

    I hope there's laws in Ohio that force reckless drivers and perpetrators of gun violence to perform community service in trauma centers, because if the custodial staff have to endure such trauma, then people who were the problem in civilized society need to pay their debt by working as the solution.

      @@GOFLuvr it’s just not fair some people go around killing, getting off with no punishment, and then these poor older folk having to spend years watching people suffer and die and then clean up the mess. I hope someone who can make some change and have a program like this would really help make a difference within gun and general violence

    • @GOFLuvr

      @@somethingiconicig3967 Agreed. The state of Florida has a law that makes reckless drivers perform 120 hours of community service in trauma centers or hospitals that regularly receive accident victims.
      Sadly the law doesn't seem to improve anyone's driving, but hopefully enough offenders are getting a good first hand look at the consequences of their actions.

    I would think that the janitors would be better equipped with protecting themselves by using a face shield, protective gloves. Why doesn’t he have a mop instead of using a napkin to wipe up the floor/s. Am I simply missing something ????

    • @TriciaPooh01
      @TriciaPooh01 11 місяців тому

      I work in EVS at my local hospital. Some stuff isn't allowed to be used in most ORs, but ever hospital has different policies. We aren't allowed to use brooms, dust pans nor dust mops in OR rooms. Also, using a paper towel to get the blood/body fluid up first keeps it from spreading all over the floor. We would then go behind that with a flat mop with an industrial grade disinfectant. We also do terminal cleans as well as ARTZ OR when called to.
      And as far as face shields and Ppe, we don't need them. We come in after a surgery is finished and everything is settled. Nothing should be splashed around in order to get in our eyes or mouth. The only time I wear PPE is when I'm terminal cleaning and OR room or using a NIMBUS machine when we clean regular patient rooms.
