    I'm an R.N. The girl with the needle in her foot is very scared and defensive because she knows nothing about injuries or her own body. Her mother has further added to her fear when she was talking to her. Her mother is terribly deficient in anything medical. The doctor knows that her behavior is her attempt to hide fear so he does the right thing, showing patience, compassion and kindness.

      As an RN I had the same thoughts. She came across as rude. Cultural differences as well, ignorance and lack of knowledge. The BP was distant and I felt he could have informed her better. That might also be his cultural background

    What a difference in attitude & strength. Christina aka “needle girl” was such a brat whilst Kerry survived a horrific life changing accident with courage & grace. Also, Luke’s parents were incredibly gutsy & supportive of their special needs’ son. Appreciate what you have & don’t be entitled & ungrateful. Mum did a terrible job in raising Tina.

    • @Kirmeins
      @Kirmeins Місяць тому +4

      I think Tina's mom was raised just as terrible and/or in such a different environment to modern UK that she is simply unable to help her daughter navigate through live. At least they seem to have a close bond so I'm going to claim she is still a good mum compared to some despite her other shortcomings. :)

      My mom developed epilepsy soon after I was born from a closed head injury when she was young child. This dad said you never know when epilepsy is going to show itself. Seeing my mom having tonic clinic seizures was extremely frightening for my siblings and I. In the 50’s and 60’s doctors had no idea how to treat seizures. She ended up with brain damage from status epilepticus (going from one seizure into another for hours). She was never herself again and died at 62.

    Now that I watched the whole video I am so glad and happy that Kerry made it. Just watching her doing the race and standing between her parents just was too emotional. I wish you all the best for the rest of our life because I know she can do it.
    ---
    It was so great to see little Luke back home playing with his parents and seeing him smiling and waving. He’s a very sweet boy, and he has the best parents for him. I must say you could tell his nanny was such a caring nanny and truly loved Luke very much.
    ----
    Tina I found was a bit disrespectful and hottie to the medical personnel, but as the doctor said when you’re not used to going through a medical procedure, you’re afraid so maybe that’s what was coming out of her at that time, but I have a feeling that Tina is a very spoiled child and I think her mother should start watching these kind of shows before telling her daughter having anaesthetic will kill her.
    ---
    Trauma Dr. Moe is such a great attentive doctor. I’ve had some really great doctors and some really bad doctors that I’ve had to deal with over my 53 years of being a type one diabetic. I just finished having my 22nd surgery and it was a double bypass open heart and my Surgeon was the best. I can’t say enough good things about him.
    Dr. Moe was knowledgeable. He answered questions when asked and he also explained how patients usually feel during the procedure. I think he was patient with Tina the girl that had the needle stuck in her foot and he never pushed for her to be quiet or to get something better than that sock on her foot or whatever that was on her foot, he knew what kind of patient he was dealing with with her and that’s so very important.
    I wish I could tell him how sorry I was that his dad had a stroke on the day that he graduated. He had his dad for two years more and I think that in itself is a blessing. The girl he picks to be his wife will be a very very fortunate woman and I hope that in all their life together that she never forgets that.

    Poor Dr. Mo having to deal with that bratty girl…he had a lot of patience cuz I wanted to reach in the screen and try to slap her. He seems like such a nice guy and when he started talking about his dad, it was so emotional.

    I can't believe this girl with the needle in her Foot! If she has so little faith in the hospital doctors why did she come to them for goodness sake. Meanwhile there's a woman with one of her legs amputated below the knee who could pass on as a result of her injuries. I feel for her grandparents.

      @lesliehyde Місяць тому +5

      In certain ways I share the needle girl's lack of faith in the medical profession, however I do agree that the medical profession does do so much with the knowledge they have.
      Source- I've got some severe chronic illnesses (CIDP, dysautonomia and adrenal insufficiency along with having insulin dependent diabetes) and there really isn't any hospital providers who have any experience in treating the combination of my conditions on top of there being even fewer out of hospital providers who have any experience with treating them. Only condition that the majority of the providers that I've seen have experience with one condition- diabetes. But the other conditions have a higher likelihood of just taking me out of existence. Frick, primary care physician doesn't even seem to acknowledge the existence of adrenal insufficiency and in fact when I saw him for follow up care from an er visit due to an adrenal crisis, he asked me why do I think I have adrenal insufficiency..... I replied with- well, one of the endocrinology providers diagnosed me with having it after running the initial blood work and the confirmation blood work. All he could say was "oh, I see".

If you were scared and being told you might be permanently disabled or die you'd probably be a bit freaked out too. She was scared, the staff handled her well.

      To be fair, her mother kinda got it into her head that she could loose her leg as well. Imagine going to hospital with the idea that they're going to amputate your leg if you're not careful, that's a whole other level of anxiety. And anxiety can do things with your psyche. You might end up spewing fire because you're so scared internally, who knows. 😅 The doctor is really a champ for not only taking that verbal sh*t from her but actually managing to divert her attention a little and even calm her down a bit all while taking care of the actual problem.

    Luke body is not working the way he wants it to pls work with him path ways in the brain take a long to grow after a seizure. Parents of Luke, when I have a seizure I am not in pain. I make noises just like your son. I often sleep and have a very bad headache for days after a seizure. The headache is worse than a migraine. I get them as well. I get the slurred speech and un unbalanced. The pathway takes along time to recover but repetition is the quickest way to healing . Do flash card for math and reading. Read book to him. Little things help. My parents had the same feelings you have expressed. I like your son, did not like be held back. His fighting spirit will help him grow into the man he wants to be. You can do that.❤❤❤

    Wow! “Needle girl” is a brat and so arrogant. Doesn’t know anything about her body or medical stuff.

      She strikes me as being just not very bright, ill-informed by an ignorant mother, and, for whatever reason, emotionally fragile. She's scared to death and that's making her rude. (She's also Eastern European or Russian and these cultures can be very brusque.) Thinking you might lose your leg because there's a tiny piece of metal in your foot is very odd. But you can see that she starts behaving like a reasonable person when the needle is removed and her fears are allayed.

    The bratty child with the needle in her foot is rude as hell! She went to the er for help and yet is disgusting to the staff. They didn’t go get her!! Her attitude is just disgusting and she is an “adult” supposedly still calling mommy for her shot record Mommyyy should’ve taught her some manners

    Tina, bawling on the phone to mummy, because she has to have a tetanus injection, and then one hell of an attitude problem. Get over yourself, girl, other people are worse off than you.

    My goodness, needle girl, “I can’t feel my whole leg and they don’t care about me”, what a whiney, lying, drama queen. Maybe by now she’s experienced something actually significant and has changed her tune. One can only hope.

    Girl in purple jumper … if you don’t believe what the Nurse Practitioner is telling you and you don’t think anyone there cares about you, then why did you come to A & E to waste their time and resources? 🧐 Then when the Orthopedic Doctor does come to help you, you get all arrogant and hostile. 🙄. As to Kerri the motor cyclist, as a recently retired Clinician, there’s no way I’d ever get on a motorbike or let a family member on one. There’s just no protection from any untoward events as evidenced by what happened to her. Another thing I wouldn’t allow is for my Son to play American football. I’ve just witnessed too much in my career. 🫤
