Hyper doc, Aspie patient, I love this already. Chris and Katlin are both brilliant. And Chris gave a full history of his day -- again, I so appreciate and love that.

I instantly knew Chris has Asperger syndrome too. I just love how brilliantly and literal an Asperger’s persons brain works. I’ll never forget my son when he was little, we were stood in a supermarket queue and the lady ahead of us had some cordial on the till travelator. My son said to the lady, ‘I can’t have your cordial’ and the lady said ‘No, because it’s mine’. My son said, ‘actually I can’t because it contains aspartame and it makes me hyperactive’! I was gobsmacked and so was the woman, this was a little 1 1/2 year old using incredibly advanced words. The woman said, how old is he? I told her and she couldn’t get over it.
Another time, Sam was eating his tea and he was wriggling in his chair. I said to him, my goodness, you’re full of beans tonight. Sam looked at his plate and said, ‘No mummy, I’m full of peas, carrots and broccoli’. 😂
He’s beautiful. My favourite person in the whole world.

Asperger. His diagnosis of autism, which he termed "autistic psychopathy," garnered controversy. Further controversy arose in the late 2010s over allegations that Asperger referred children to the Am Spiegelgrund children's clinic in Vienna during the Nazi period. The clinic was responsible for murdering hundreds of disabled children, although the extent of Asperger's knowledge of this fact and his intentions in referring patients to the clinic remains unknown

I like Chris' sense of humor! He seems like a guy anyone would like as a friend. Chris sounds like he might be on the autism spectrum. My younger daugter has Asperger's syndrome and I feel a similar "vibe" from the way Chris talks and acts. No problem. I really like this young guy!

I agree. I love how the older gent, Bill, supported his younger friend, John, through the loss of his wife, Anne. Two such genuine, old school gents navigating the loss of their life partners. Very touching to see!
Edit: Just have to add that John’s heartbreak recounting his loss, that is what true love looks like. He fondly remembers all the years they had together & the devastation of being left alone. I wish more people understood the value of sticking it out through the tough times. That’s what true love looks like.

35:50 "Normal" is a setting on the dryer. I'm a longtime teacher (and recovered/recovering alcoholic), and my normal is probably quite different to everyone else's. I see that in my students as well. We're all just scraping along and figuring it out as we go. No shame on anyone for being different! It keeps life more interesting.

I was in London for 3 days last week and was shocked to see 99% of folks on bicycles had no helmet. All of those rental bikes are doing a disservice to not only tourists, but rush hour commuters who use them. If you use the bike every day, it's only your ego keeping you from being more safe.

He’s used that aspect of his ASD to work in software development. As a mum of an ASD teen, I can’t express enough to you how painful it is for them to have this brain difference. It makes them feel isolated & suffer deep emotional pain. They can’t help their foiibles but, damn, he’s done so well to have a job & be living independently.
I’m not judging you because, on the surface, their little quirks might seem grating. However, you’ll never find a more genuine, pure soul than an ASD person. Neurotypical people will tell you false flattery & lies, all whilst screwing you over. Tbh, I’d take their quirks over “normal” every day. Something to think about. ✌️
