@@Hillcountryflyworks Thanks man. Yeah I've chased them twice here in the Houston bayous and I'm hooked. I see so many but haven't been able to entice any just yet.
Carp on the fly are alot of fun. I got two 15 pounders a couple weeks ago on my 6wt. I was trying all season to catch my first carp on the fly. I got my first back in early May then nothing else all summer . I got two more a week apart a couple weeks ago. Im really looking forward to next season. I think I learned a few things this year and Ill be able to hit the ground running next season.
Hell yeah bro that's epic! Congrats on your first Carp on the fly. I'm really excited about this! I'm moving to Austin in August and I cant wait to hook into one of these guys.
This particular section they seemed to only be responding to a olive/black scarpion with a bright green, almost chartreuse, tail. Nate used the painted army green bead chain eyes as well.
Nice catch! I had one on my line this morning and he snapped it before I could figure out what was on there. Felt pretty different than the little bass and bluegills I was catching.
Damn that landscape is otherworldly!
Congrats on the first carp! I'm right there in line trying to get my first as well. Cheers man!
It’s an addictive game! Good luck on the water dude
