I was excited to find this, We just moved to NC from OR and we miss trout fishing. This is about an hour away from us would you say it’s worth the trip for fishing with kids and does it cost to park/fish? I’m sure I can find info in your other videos (haven’t looked yet) but being new to NC is there a good place to take kids that they will easily catch fish? We would prefer a species that is good to eat but are just happy to catch any fish. We just south of Winston-Salem and have fished a little with no luck, probably because we have no idea how to fish for the species around here and are just playing by ear. Any info is appreciated!

So when is the trout season over in that lake ?
The trout season does not technically end in this lake....it is just more fish and a better bite right after stocking in spring and fall.

This lake is great also check out the Ararat river in mt. Airy just north of hanging rock
