I so appreciate you putting this together! Couple notes: 1) It was over 3 minutes in, before we learned anything. 2) The glare was too much to get much value in the rest Keep posting! Lots of folks trying to learn what you are learning!
Very nice video. I'm looking at this unit for my snowmobile for ice fishing, JUST for the GPS feature to get me two and from safely and to mark waypoints. How is the GPS feature on this? Thanks!
Thanks for sharing, I have the Helix 5 , but what's the Hummingbird on the front of your boat called ? , other than a Hummingbird ... I would definitely get one if you can see your Bait on it , lol ... I have the Minn kota riptide, is it durable for a transducer on it ? ... Any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated ... 🐟🐟🐟
Thanks for the info on the helix 5 I have installed 1 on my boat this past weekend I am ready to 🎣🎣🎣 😉 I love the whole thing about the helix 5 a lot of good features on it easy to understand thank remember EACH 1 TEACH 1 😉 🎣🎣✌️💓
I believe he said it was the same as the one on his console, Helix 5 Chirp but with 'DI' added to the name (Down Imaging). Usually about $50 extra for the DI version.
Hello. Now that you have had the Helix 5 for a little over a year... Do you still like it? And most importantly, what would you do differently if you could start over? Add lakemaster? Add side imaging? Are you happy with the stock transponders? Thank you.
Great question……the biggest thing I would have to say would be adding side-imaging. Not having it makes it difficult to find structure most of the time. Overall, I still really like it and think that they are great starter units!
I can tell you on the few lakes I have been on so far my out of the box gps maps have been good. I believe you can purchase lakemaster chart cards though and it will be better.

Understand that....appreciate the kindly manner of your feedback and will continue improving!
Good feedback. He’ll learn and get better. People wanting to improve UA-cam reviews and tutorials should watch Project Farm and Tamar (woodworking).

It's the same as his other Helix 5 Chirp, but with 'DI' added to the name (for Down Imaging)
That’s correct. I went with DI in front
You forgot to mention the 2d and what was so great about it?
Is that a Sasquatch in the reflection of the bow helix 5?
Great video!!! Thank you for the info!! 💯💪

What model Hummingbird 5 do you have on the front of you boat?
I believe he said it was the same as the one on his console, Helix 5 Chirp but with 'DI' added to the name (Down Imaging). Usually about $50 extra for the DI version.
Yes sir you got it
What is your trolling motor setup on that rig ? Looks sick

@@inlife_official Hi and thanks for taking the time to reply. I really appreciate it.
Which model is on dash and which is up front. I have a helix 5 si/gps
What mount are you using for the bow unit?
It’s a RAM marine mount.
I hear the Hummingbird has limited maps. I was told you need to purchase maps. Can you tell me if this is true?
I can tell you on the few lakes I have been on so far my out of the box gps maps have been good. I believe you can purchase lakemaster chart cards though and it will be better.
just picked up a solix 10 and a helix 12! good video
Awesome! Thank you very much.
Hey man!! Loved the video! I was just wondering what helix 5 this is?
Thanks so much! One was the regular GPS g2 finder. The other was GPS with DI.
@@inlife_official i have the chirp-gps mapping.g2. can i add DI?
Can you save mapping on the Helix on lakes not on the LakeMaster chips?
I believe so, I have been able to use the mapping features on all the lakes I have fished since having it just as the unit came in the box.
Sonar gps Hilux 5 800h 480 qual largura e comprimente e quantas polegada tela dele obg aguardo resposta obg?
Where did you purchase your helix5?
Purchased mine through the sportsman guide website. You can typically find them at a lot of different sporting goods stores though.
@@inlife_official When I'm ready to BUY mine,I'll probably BUY it from there too.
Do you need a card for gps to work
The GPS works out of the box, but in order to have the lakemaster features like topographic charts you would need a card.
Thing I hate about this is that once you see a fish on it, more than likely it’s below the boat by than and now you can’t catch it
I understand that…just have to interpret the info as the graph gives it👍🏼
DId you ever say the name of the unit in the front?
Sorry if I didn’t make it clear, but they are both the same unit, just the one in front has down imaging.
@@inlife_official thank you sir! your video helped me decide what I needed. I appreciate the content. Keep it coming. I'm hitting the sub button
@@inlife_official what are your thoughts on side imagine?
@@inlife_official how can i get the DI?
Good video
Appreciate it!
Bought one for my Jon Boat
Awesome! They are great units!

Is this also a fish finder
Couldn’t see a thing on that screen.
Not very good: too much light reflection, to confusing. Sorry.
Can’t see anything
Intro is way too long you need to get to what your video is about quicker.
