I bought the PAC OEM-1 transmitter but all of my amps were blown so it didn't work. I even read up on the forums and tried soldering on new transistors to all of the amps, but they were so busted that only one worked with the new components. What ended up working for me (and sounding way better than I expected) was cutting the positive and negative speaker cables and the yellow and purple cables going into the amp plugs. Splice the green (negative) speaker cable to the yellow amp cable and splice the red (positive) speaker cable to the purple amp cable, then plug in the positive and negative tips of the speaker cables back into your speaker. Completely bypasses the amp and redirects the signals directly to the speakers.
@@nishokmk3 Nope, I took the PAC out and bypassed the amps by rewiring the signal directly to the speakers themselves. I’m just running my Pioneer head unit and the 4 speakers, no PAC
Hey Jeremy. Good detailed tutorial. Thnx. With regards to a few questions about people seeing a battery drain after installing. A simple solution using your idea of the toggle switch for antenna why not use a second toggle if you're doing the install anyway and it can be used like a dead man switch to kill power to the head unit after you turn off the ignition? Just a thought.
So if I buy these components can I just replace the 4 different factory speakers with no issues? I've heard because of the bose system you need to change a bunch of thing. I just bought 4 new speakers, but learned I need to rewire a bunch of stuff. If this makes it easy, I'll buy it all.
The system comes with a diagram on what to wire and what not to wire and how to use all of the applications. Is this DIY I did not have a parking brake wire
@@ZBruhzchannel I’ve installed it on my Z32 also so I guess I don’t need to use it either. I’ve got everything connected properly, but do you know why the unit powers up when I turn on the ignition switch even though I had turned the unit off when before shutting off the car?
I know you said we must connect all the accessories. In this case if we don’t want to plug in the mic or the GPS, I think it should be fine? If you use Apple car play in my case, your phone covers it all. Also, I believe there’s a built in mic at the front of the unit that should be enough. Also, any battery drainage issues at all? Just out of curiosity.
From what it says in the directions all acc should be plugged in on initial startup, and from the forums people have had issues if they didn't do that. I haven't had any issues with battery drainage either.
Does the PAC module light up when it’s wire properly? I noticed it looks like it had lights on it to signify those particular speakers are getting power.
That I don't know, it actually looks like there are little screws where the holes are. Just did about a 2hr drive and sounds great and zero issues the way I have it setup
Jeremy, my man at it again. Another great video! Question for you, my 91 TT has the Bose system, amp and speakers all replaced with a whole different system. Do I still need the PAC OEM harness? Kindly advise.
Any issues with the back of the stereo getting hot? I installed mine and it’s getting very hot. I unwired it all up for now until I can figure out why. Any feedback would be appreciated!
Do I need the PAC-OEM 1 transmitter if I have the bose system but replace the speakers and remove the amps? Great video btw I've been wanting to do this as well. Side note zspec also sells the finishers that go over the screws if you want to replace that broken one
If you remove the amps, follow the guide I wrote in the pinned comment. I had the Bose system and I'm currently running a Pioneer AVH-2500NEX head unit without the stock amps or the PAC-OEM 1
I'd say follow the pinned comment for that situation, and I actually did order a complete set if new finishers! But thanks for the comment so others can see they are intact available
@@paulovilarinho8966 iirc the non-Bose Z32's are plug and play (besides having to splice the wires of a new head unit) but I'm not 100% sure. can you program the atoto to have a custom start sound? I want my z32 to have a gundam startup sound. also, do you need the transmitter if you don't have a bose system?
This I don't know off the top of my head, but it does have an SD card slot, so I believe there may be a way to do that I'll do some digging and get back to you! As for the transmitter, if you don't have the factory bose system I don't know if you will need It or not. I have seen accounts stating you do need it and others saying you don't need it. Unfortunately I know for a fact if you have a bose system you need it.
Would that ground affect the cluster? Curious because i installed a double din into my Z and none of my gauges work at all, or light up. Wondering if that ground might be my issue? Great video though! Im gonna have to run all new speaker wire for my Z this will come in handy!
