The Best PLLs
Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 чер 2016
- This video is an attempt to compile a list of the best algorithms for every PLL. PLLs have become refined enough that I believe it is possible to select a few as definitively the best, so I decided to make a list of these algs so that others don't have to sift through them. The idea is, if you use an alg that is not in the description of this video, switching will probably benefit you, at least in the long run. Also it gives a chance for all of you to see my PLL executions (algs with a * in the list are ones that I use). Please note that this list is biased for right hand dominance. If you think I missed something, let me know comments. Enjoy!
P.S. Cube is an Aolong v2
Edit: so for some reason the timing of the text gets kind of off towards the end, sorry!

Geoffrey 03 that's actually Sodium
omg that is so good
ayyyyyyyyyyyyy

I know!
xD lol yeah been gyming.
Lol right
lol true that

That cube sounds so delicious I want to eat it when you turn slowly.

Another alternative for a Jb perm is Lucas's main one:
x R2 F R F' R U2 r' U r U2
I personally like this one a lot too.
really late reply but you're right, I'm adding it.

Wait... Does this mean that muscle memory isn't the only thing I need to have for a good average? I have to have muscle everything else too? Ugh.
Lol
Dat pink 13x13 doh
I'd like one
Your executions are so nice and that cube sound is so satisfying
Love this video it has the best executions of all pll cases I will definitely start using these thanks drew
your first u perm execution was INSANE!!!
(1:42)
Man does that cube sound sticky! Its just so gnarly. Keep it up with your gyming!
Thanks for the video! I'm currently learning cfop and I have found this massively helpful.
Thanks man for the algorithms it's been so useful for me
Dude thank you! All videos that I've watched are so damn fast
9:52 What's Happening???
Noise in the background.
This video will hit 100,000 views ion the next year (I was here at 309)
684 for me
lol
+Tanki - Cubed that's not happening
it will trust me
Tanki - Cubed no it won't, trust me
For the third Ja alg, I would use an l2 to end the alg rather than the R2. It just makes it easier to AUF. Also, I love the Z perm alg you showed! I never knew it existed.
This video is really useful.Thanks!
Amazing video, it really helped me a lot with the N-perms;)
amazing video, helped a lot
ive never seen anyones pll execution this fast....
This helped som Much!! I was a beginner, and now I'm sub 20!! Thanks!
Yo earlier I had tried your Ra perm from memory and failed, and the result was me learning an antisune ZBLL. Now I know a better way to do the Ra perm and a ZBLL. Thanks man!
I REALLY needed that N-Perm lol
Thanks!
eyy righty m slice ftw
Grant C. 👊 👍👍👍
Grant C. no lefty
idk how people can righty m slice
Edgardo Reyes I can't do lefty m slices lol
Im use both my thumbs. Jk lefty
For the first U perm, you can position it the same as the Last Algorithm that you showed, and do: M2 Uw' M' Uw2 M' Uw' M2 It's pretty fast.
nice video mann
Nice medal man, you should be world champion man.
I use the exact same algs as you! what a coincedence
I've been using this Z perm - M2 U' M2 U' M' U2 M2 U2 M' - Don't know why I never found your Z-perm till now but thank you for your awesome PLLs.
These are really cool algs. I'm still going to use my lefty Ra perm though.
very good man, can u do a video on the best ftl algs ?
Listening to this in 0.5 speed is like learning fingertricks from a drunk man! Makes it more fun
Thanks. I learned all the g perms and m perm. Now I know full pll
N*
Also for a perm you can do it like a t perm holding the headlights to your left, and doing a t perm just with wide r turns
RUD G perms ftw
Why you gotta be so RUD
+EPICGUYDUDE lel and don't forget that at the end there is a UD' kind of thing, so it's RUDE'/ RUDE
That cube seems so good
Nice video
6:14 i dont understand how can people be that fast holy
JC you should see Feliks zemdegs
drew brads has the fastest e perm at 22 turns per second
c b Feliks look slow vs drew!
This video is very awesome and helpful, and everyone who is hating is wrong. :)
6:58 i actually came up with the same special execution for the G(a) which I started using as soon as I learnt the alg

Y:
R' U' R U' (Jb-perm minus last move) R2 U R
Z:
M2 U' M' U2 M2 U2 M' U M2
Something that is very helpful for the R U D G perms is that you can do the last move at the beginning instead of at the end so AUF is easier.
nah, you can do auf while doing the last move
For an AB perm I put the headlights on the left and do a T Perm with wide R's
i have a cool Z-perm that i came up by myself, its M' U2 M2 U2 M' U' M2 U' M2. Is it any good or should i switch to the one in the video?
Trapbeach I think you should switch i used to use that alg too but i prefer the one in the video
My original Jb alg was (R U2 R' U' R U2) z (U' R D' R' U) because i learnt it from Bob Burton's OH page. Despite not being "the best one," its actually pretty nice although I don't use it anymore. One thing that I found really coll was you could do R move AUf without rotation which was very quick.
In fact I actually got my first Sub-10 (9.02) with that alg.
I already subscribe
For the case at 2:27, you can do l2
u' M' u2 M' u' R2. It's not good if you have AUF bit otherwise really great.
For the Ab perm, I hold the headlights on the left and do
R' D' R U R' D R U R' D' R U2 R' D R
Can you tell me if you think it's good? It's kind of a mixture of a few VLS algs and has no rotations.
Can you put the cube rotations with the algs too? Makes it much easier to refer to.
what do you think about this alg for V Perm : R U' R U R' D R D' R U' D R2 U R2 D' R2, i think it's pretty ok too
Yes I learned it from j-perm and it is faster than the one with rotation in my opinion, but only on 3x3 tho. It sucks on big cubes like 5x5 because of the D moves.
Check out the V perm on Derpy cuber’s tutorial.
for Aa perm just do T perm but all R and R' are replaced with wide moves (face it like a tperm headlights on left)
to recognize it u'll see a big 2x2 block 2 colors that are together
Whatever you lubed that cube with, it is so dang gummy.
O g the girlscreaming at 9:55 scared me. I thought my sister got murdered
6:40 he is hungry
Miss you Bru
very nice job u are a good cuber an u know what new cuber want s to know
6:11 He does the E perm faster than I do my T perm. I'm ashamed of myself.
I'm actually pretty fast at the e perm. It's faster than my y perm because I use that special D'. The D' isn't even that hard.
The RUD G perms are much more usable if you move any D moves at the end to the beginning - this makes auf way easier
A note about A-Perms that you didn't mention is that you can cycle each direction from each angle depending on when you do the U after the wide turn. I'd be truly shocked if you didn't know this, but I just want to make sure...
for the first and second one, you can either do sexy then lefty sexy, removing the two f2l pairs, then insert the pair on your right by doing a reverse sexy, the do a reverse lefty sexy. You can also do this the other way by starting with the left sexy and ending with the regular sexy. If you are wondering where I got that alg, i made it up myself. :)
Yeah I figured that out too, a shame it's not too useful... actually, I wonder if it works on Megaminx?
Philip Lauer I use it a lot when I get the case
Great video!
If possible, change the font color next time so it doesn't merge with the table color. :)
So first of all, awesome video! One thing, though, I was discussing with Zeke Jaramillo at the NM competition: what about alternate algorithms for one-handed solving? I mean, you need to go another way for Z-perms and H-perms, where you get around slicing.
Zeke told me he will put together a video for that (EZCube), but can you tell us your alternate algs, please?
Oops- EZCubing
R' U' R U' R U R U' R' U R U R2 U' R' for Z R2 U2 R U2 R2 U2 R2 U2 R U2 R2 for H. Rouxers can actually do M moves OH pretty fast though.
check out AlgDB.net, they have section for one handed algorithm.
Personally, for Z perms I use : R U R' U R' U' R' U R U' R' U' R2 U R, though I also use the FR mirror: R' U' R U' R U R U' R' U R U R2 U' R', if I get it from the other angle.
For H I use, R U R' U2 R U' R' U' R U' R' U2 R U' R' U' R U2 R', though R2 U2 R U2 R2 U2 R2 U2 R U2 R2, is more common,
I think I should switch to the f perm where you cancel into a t perm and I like the n perm where you cancel into a y perm. Oh also many people use a left hand alg for the ra and it is a fast left hand alg
Hello Drew. I would like your opinion on something. I am a 30 second solver(give or take). Cubing for two years, but mostly on big cubes(5x5-7x7).only decent on f2l but I know almost nothing about oll/pll. Just curbing for hobby but wanna get more into it. Im 40 years old so I skipped a lot of chapters. How do I start in practicing oll pll? Any info from you would help a lot and would be very appreciated. Cheers from Greece. Hope you are doing good with everything you do in your life.
Why is the "Standart" position for the RU U perm the back and the "Standart" position for the MU U perm the back even though both can be executed and are good from both angles?
lol that 3rd Ua alg 2:09 looks like a skewb sledgehammer
I found one for Ub perm.
(L' U' L U) (R U R' U') U' (L' U L) U (R U' R')
It takes out a pair, takes out the adjacent one then replaces them, very easy to learn and execute.
i figured that out too, i use it on the fisher cube to keep centers oriented
Wayyyy too many moves. Easy to learn is a bad thing to go off of in the beginning. Its much better to just learn a harder but faster alg right off the bat rather than learn a long one and then switch to the fast one later anyways
A much better one for Ub and I use it now.
M2' u M' u2 M' u M2
Gotta Love that pink(13x13)
For the Aa perm, do a T perm but replace every R and R' with r and r'. But make sure that the headlights are on your left.
yeah, so you know the part where if the alg isn't on the list you should switch? You should apply that here.
+XTownCuber Ok, great! Very helpful video by the way! Thanks
Yeah, i use that alg when im in that position.
+Chris Choi I thought I was the only one :p
Yay, we use the same m u perms
Another alternate Gc perm:
(from front)
R2 u' R U' R U R' u R2 f R' f'
There are also 2-gen U perms from front which I use:
Ua: R U' R U R U R U' R' U' R2
Ub: R2 U R U R' U' R' U' R' U R'
A few Ja algs that I use, the first one is my main, the second one I use for OH,
Headlights at back:
r2 U D' r2 U' r2 D r2 D' r2 D r2
Or headlights at left (good for OH)
R' U2 R U R' U2 L U' R U L'
Or a variant of that:
R' U2 R U R' U2 z U R' D R U'
Also for headlight at front, RUD
z D' R U' R2 D R' D' R2 U D
Alternate T perm, same angle but if you have a U2 AUF, this is good
R U R' U' R' F R2 U' R' U F' L' U L
Or a bit varied:
R U R' U' R' F R2 U' R' U F' r' F r
Also a Jb alg for headlights at front:
z U R' D R2 U' R U R2 U' D'
A Z-perm that's good for OH
R U R' U R' U' R' U R U' R' U' R2 U R
Or a Z-perm if your right hand is in the correct position from OLL:
[R U2 R' U' R U R' U' R U' R'] call this HL2x (easy way to remember this alg)
HL2x = HeadLights 2x
HL2x = R U2 R' U' sexy move R U' R'
HL2x U' HL2x
good PLLs
and at 6:40 he farts
Bob Thebuilder
what the heck xD
Bob Thebuilder he's hungry
Bob Thebuilder i
Drew, when you are breaking in a cube, are you breaking in the pieces or the core?
for the H perm you can do this algorithem - R2 U2 R U2 R2 U2 R2 U2 R U2 R2. It is really fast and regripless
Erreday Cubing so Is the normal H perm
Lol that pink cube in the back
That tps though
For F-perm, this one can be very fast if you manage to execute it regripless: R' U R U' R2 F' U' F U R F R' F' R2
Once you found the trick it looks so cool ^^
that is extremely fast...for 2007
Lol I'm pretty sure you could sub-1 it with the right fingertricks!
For the RUF Gc perm isn't it faster to do lefty double flick twice instead of regripping to do the first U2 with right hand ?
As a person who uses that regrip, I can assure you it's subtle and easy.
Also, in my opinion it flows better
Dat pink 13x13 doe... And them muscles...
that is the sandiest cube i have ever heard
what the heck all the other commenters were saying how gummy it sounds...it's really not sandy or gummy it's pretty average.
idk might be the mic or something or its just me
8:47 Has anyone ever messed around with that alg but with the last 3 moves being x f R' f'? I think it's pretty fast from that angle but I use the R2 F2 one mostly.
that z perm is gonna take some getting used to
What do you think separates top cubers from average cubers in terms of skill? Is it reducing the number of moves in solves with advanced techniques, reaction time (F2L look ahead), or finger tricks/TPS?
all three just about equally.
Do you go much farther than 7-8 move cross, normal F2L, full OLL, and full PLL?
Do I? Full COLL other random LL stuff lot's of x crosses...yeah I do.
Oh. :\ Btw what were the changes you made that got you to sub20? I've heard look ahead is generally the most important but I'm not sure about alg execution time and how many algs you need. Sorry for all the questions lol
+Terminal just practice man. that's all I ever did. I never analyzed much or looked deeply at what I needed to work on. I just practiced.
sir will you please teach us how you execute cube rotations and some fingertricks please sir
nyl dagarag Lmao did you even watch the video kid?
Ua: R U' R U R U R U' R' U' R2
Feliks can do this one crazy fast.
Ua is not counter clockwise... also pretty sure A perms are switched. Could be wrong on that too xD Overall nice video. This would have been great for me a couple years ago :) nonetheless gonna be super useful for newer cubers.
Thanks Man :) I went according to what's on algdb.net. Idk if that's "official" but I never learned any of the a/b/c/d stuff so I went with it.
Just checked again on a few sites, and I guess it would make sense that Aa is the clockwise corner cycle. My bad.
What about solving the Ua and Ub perm from the front with those algs reversed. I've always done it like that. The (R U) alg btw.
If I do the J perm with the pinch drag instead of left hand F', I find myself more prone to corner twisting
I still like my algorithm for the Ua Perm
i do my U perms form the back with the MU version of the algs
I use a different alg for Gd perm: L U L' B2 D' R U' R' U R' u R2
It's a weird alg but it's the one I use
I use a different z perm which I think can be fast, its M' U2 M2 U2 M' U M2 U M2. never seen it on sites or videos before so i was wondering what some other cubers think of it
I use that alg too. I like it too
Bruh I don't think I've learned faster on any other video then this 1 right here... If u could do this for OLLs... Please friend
Is it ok if I do the "Rb" perm just the lefty way?
Ub from back I use R' with Pinky instead of R3. is this Good ?
What about M2 u' M' u2 M' u' M2 for Ua perm from the left side? You used it in all plls sub 1 video.
Right when he says that the key to having fast A-perms is to do D2's with your left hand
I got a sub-1 A-perm with right handed D2's
I found the non rotate E perm
R2 D R' U R D' R' U R D R' U' R D' R' U' R'
Natsugi Neo inefficient
For the clockwise a perm. I see some people put the headlights on the left and do a t perm using wide r moves
Callum Cubes yeah I do that if I get it like that automatically, so I get rid of AUF/rotation
Techno what do you mean by Auf and rotation? do you mean cause you should do auf execute alg and auf back
Callum Cubes just figured that out by myself the other day
